Smash also represents...well, Nintendo.

We've gotten so used to third parties I think we sometimes forget what Smash is all about.

ACKSHUALLY, it's not about just Nintendo anymo--

Smash Bros. Ultimate is a celebration of gaming more so than a celebration of Nintendo; the series as a whole has taken on a higher purpose. I remember Sakurai making a statement about it but I can't remember which Famitsu column or interview it is.

Yes, Ultimate has grown more into a celebration of gaming (at least of Japanese games) in general over past iterations.

But remember, there are 10 3rd party characters in Smash compared to 64 Nintendo ones (*insert Nintendo 64 joke here*).

This is still a Nintendo crossover first and foremost.

I know I'm the guy who has Crono and Protector as his Top 2 wants, with Shovel Knight and Alucard on my Top 5 but I really wish DLC would focus on 1st Parties.
If I'm not going to get my most wanted, let the new fighters be 1st Party characters I don't care about rather than 3rd Party characters I don't care about

I’m still of the opinion that at this point, I think the Minecraft content isn’t even real.

We can make excuses as to why Steve may not have been in a debug menu, or anything else when somebody leaked Piranha Plant, but I have yet to see anything convincing aside from dude has has already proven to not have reliable information stick to their guns.

If i’m wrong, I will be playing Smash Bros Ultimate this Friday and frankly not give a single ****. I just think that we should try breaking away from this leak talk, because it’s a different ball game now.

We don’t know where this is coming from, and the details seem iffy at best. The timeline only makes sense when you start making excuses as to why Steve didn’t show up in REAL instances rather than hypothetical.

There’s a lot of stuff that can still happen. It seems to me that the only thing that we can truly believe to some extent is the Square character, which is backed by numerous sources, unlike Steve.

Pretty much this. How do Vergeben and his lads have info on minecraft content from back in may when nobody else has heard a peep based on what we know? Game’s coming out in 3 days anyway, and we’re likely to get a reveal at TGA. I’d say to not take any leaks now particularly serious.

Looking at how Tekken 7's second season DLC pass and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition's third season pass characters revealed all the characters within, I wonder what would happen if the Smash Ultimate's Fighters Pass would do the same.

Even longer ago, everyone assumed the Inklings would be Smash 4 DLC.

Instead we got Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta and another FE Avatar.

But Grinch disappointment/Katalina drama/Steve arguments/the current Sora sadness would all have been lessened if people would stop becoming emotionally invested in hearsay. SFV's third season (and I believe the second and first as well) didn't initially announce everyone at once. They gave silhouettes and actually announced each character shortly before release. It's a smarter way of trying to get people to pay money in advance for characters they don't want.

I just use fight money.

His game has also aged as well as peanuts and really just exists nowadays to show how the Mother trilogy got started. I'd much rather he'd be a costume for Ness or not in at all. Come at me.
