Does Masked Man's statement regarding that one leak even matter at this point? Seems like it would've been meant for base-game, especially since it was back in July or so.

I still think we will get some sort of Smash Bros announcement at The Game Awards. It seems interesting that they would tweet about Smash Bros, if they had no intentions of mentioning it during the awards. It’s possible it could just be another trailer, or it’s possible it will be the first DLC. It’s not out of the realm of possibility, as Breath Of The Wild had it’s DLC revealed at The Game Awards.

Probably one of the more likely options imo. DQ is pretty popular in japan and seemingly does well enough elsewhere too. The new one this year I think did pretty well?

Not sure if there would be any real announcement for Smash at the Game Awards. The Awards are a day before the game is out. The only thing I could possibly see is something related to the Day 1 Patch. There was a credible rumor that there would be a new mode (think it was a guy who mentioned PP early) but we haven't heard anything about it. It could be that or something related to World of Light. I don't think there will be a character yet.

By the way, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a trailer at the game awards.

Xenosaga Trilogy remaster/remake is announced.
KOS-MOS is revealed as a DLC character for Ultimate.

Make it happen Bandai Namco/Nintendo.
