Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Apart of Namco and Square, every third party company has included on Smash Ultimate two of their franchises for playable picks (Capcom with Street Fighter and Megaman, SEGA with Sonic and Bayonetta and i always expected Konami to do the same).

Konami is also trying to give the public a better look for the company after the stuff with Kojima and Metal Gear Survive. Super Bomberman R was a nice way to start that supposed change, and the amount of Konami stuff in Ultimate is probably related to this objective.

I just hope that the problems that Castlevania Requiem had were just a mistake from their part that they will try to prevent from happening again.

It’s because of this that I hope the DLC gives us both. A second Namco and a second Square. Then Banjo and two Nintendo characters picked for promotional purposes (probably Edelguard and Euden)

I'll be real, it makes me mad.

Like, he's an assist trophy. He's always been an assist trophy. They brought him back as an assist trophy. He's in the game. I'm not a Waluigi hater but what makes Waluigi of all characters more "deserving" than like...I don't know, Toad or Cranky Kong or some other long-term character that appears but isn't playable?

You're talking to a guy whose friends pick Waluigi in all the Party and Kart games they can and who has liked the character since Tennis. If he got a solo game or a Wario Bros game I'd buy it day one. I get the appeal, but the reaction was really weird to me. People are acting as if he isn't in the game at all. It's all memes I tell you.

Hopefully they put out, like, a Waluigi's Wrecking Crew between now and then, so he has a nice full moveset to draw from when the time comes.

It's a mixture of both designs.

Her hair, shoulder pads, the triforce on her skirt and crown are from ALBW
The lines in her skirt are a combination of both
The collar from ALttP
Edit: just noticed the things hanging from her belt use the AlttP placement, but the ALBW design

They're basically the same anyway

Has anyone who got the game early tried it out in handheld mode?

Haven’t heard anything regarding that. I doubt it runs poorly but it would be nice to know how well it plays regardless.

i'll wait till Smash 10 when they redo the roster to only have Goku and Mario variations in it. Far superior.

People have said 720p 60 fps in handheld so I think it'll be fine.
Besides I don't think Nintendo would willingly put out one of their strongest titles out with a non-optimized
handheld mode. That's half the console.

But for real, nothing for Suikoden at all is criminal. Personally I'd like to see Chrono Cross to go with Trigger. This one is more niche, but Legend of Dragoon is a favorite of mine. Skies of Arcadia? Dark Cloud? Ni No Kuni? Earthbound? Kingdom Hearts? Breath of Fire? Secret of Mana?

Point being, there are soooo many to choose from. Gotta get some breadth in that roster as well as the depth you've got going.

But most importantly, we can't snub Golden Sun here too! lol

Suikoden 4 was my favorite Suikoden game, even though it's arguably considered the worst in the series, but I loved it and beat it multiple times. It also has a great soundtrack

I managed to buy Smash 3DS the day before it released in 2014.
But i decided to not open the box and play it on the real launch date.

Yeah, I would be surprised if it ran poorly as well.

Just found it odd I wasn’t hearing much about handheld mode.

What a fool I was.

(But I did get the sick Smash dock and Joycons so it's fine, really.)

I still laught when i go back to check the reveal of those joycons on the Direct.
They talked about them as if they were revealing a Smash collection for Switch, mostly because they described them as something that the fans would “love to death”.

But regardless, it's stated in game ALttP. It's stated by Sakurai it's ALttP. She has no ALBW alts but stuff inspired by ALttP alts.

She may have a few designs from ALBW, but it's intended to be ALttP Zelda and you can tell by proportions and her face ears and eyes. It's enough difference to separate the two.

Deep down, I accept the reality that LPS will never be in Smash. It's just that, in this case, the hopeful, illogical side of me takes precedence... :urg:

I think the fastest way would be to purchase a physical copy at a retail store and pick up your copy when the store closes (such as at 9pm Thursday night) so that you can play it on Thursday, a few hours before midnight
