... it's Sephiroth. It makes perfect sense now, the lack of Spirits and music for Final Fantasy was because it was going to be saved for his DLC.

That was some long game plan really. I almost tought we would only have 2 FF songs for the rest of this game lifespan.

First off Geno being on this list in the first place is a good sign. Curious as to why we shouldn't take Geno too seriously.

I doubt old Sephy with how restricted the FF7 Spirits and stuff seems to be.
Crono I respect and would enjoy. Very odd move since he's not really promoting anything though, so it'd be like Geno.
Erdrick...I mean I guess I can respect his iconic status for DQ. I'd really rather have HIM over...
Luminary. Complete product placement. Would be my biggest disappointment on my list. Gonna be honest, don't know anything of him as a character; but Erdrick at least has cemented himself as decently iconic and well-known especially with the core DQ fanbase.
Slime? I mean...okay. Most favored DQ rep.
Sora...I don't see why we can be so sure he isn't in tbh. I would be good with Sora, for my friends.

I'm not buying anything off that list, mostly on the fact that it's just pure speculation.

Man in that case, Sora is confirmed because Kingdom Hearts III won't be able to run on the Switch's toaster specs in comparision to the PS4/XB1.

Sephiroth still has the very same issues as Cloud. You're kidding yourself if you think you're getting a ton of content with him as the DLC fighter. He still has to go through Uemastu to get music.

At most you can hope for a new stage and maybe One Winged Angel with him. Those problems aren't gonna magically go away with a second FF7 rep.

Melee was Fox, though Jigglypuff arguably had the best recovery. Plus it's too early to tell even if some characters look ****ing bonkers like Ken and Bowser

Honestly I think this was an oversight as seen with the E3 Smash video showing all 8 Villager skins but they were all white, meaning the nonwhite skins were added pretty late in development. Still INCREDIBLY unfortunate and worthy of criticism

100%, sorry i didnt mean to make it actually sound that harsh. Tbh, i think its either Chrono or Geno. If you keep reading, is likely Sephiroth is the character Vergeben believes is impossible to make in design alone, as the others make no sense in that context.

Im also against the DQ characters simply because 3 names are apparently being thrown around (which sounds like baiting of the franchise to me as a whole) and DQs music license is even a worse nightmare than FFs.

So Chrono or Geno is who im betting on. Hell, hopefully we get both by some miracle.

DQ has the same issues though, except they also have to go through an even more stingy composer and maybe Toriyama. Sora's issues have been gone over to death at this point too. If you ask me, Sephiroth, Chrono and maybe Geno are the most likely.
