Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

They feel very random, especially given that they aren't even remixes, but direct ports. Well, Funky's Fugue is the closest we'll get to Killer Instinct in Smash. (The song was supposed to be KI music, but got used for DKC instead.)

But I have another one too

Isabelle’s classic revolves around female characters all females

None of the know bosses in ultimate nor sub space emissary are females

So that’s telling me there’s another boss in the dark that’s a female only thing I can think of is mother brain secretly getting the rathalos treatment

:ultfalcon:'s route is him fighting with brawlers but he still faces with Giga Bowser at the end. I doubt they are that picky over bosses. Maybe she'll just encounter with Rathalos.

Maybe Medusa is a boss. Though for Isabelle, it's totally possible that her boss is Dark Samus if she's only fighting female characters. I know Dark Samus is technically Metroid Prime itself and thus an "it" but Dark Samus is well a copy of Samus so I would say she/it/whatever counts. But people get real particular about this kind of stuff.

I do wonder if Mega Man and Shulk have bosses from their stages. Yellow Devil, with Wily Assist(maybe Zero if they want to make it 3 on 1) and Metal Face against Shulk. The stage bosses from 4 were treated as such anyway.

Nothing new about Squad Strike except for the fact you go right from the fighter count to the battle screen, which doesn't seem to let you change your characters...?
It's not fancy editing either, that's how it goes.
Do you pick your characters before that screen? That'd be pretty awkward.

Apparently it has multiple options. 1 where you select characters after every round and 1 where every character can represent a stock (allegedly confirmed by Nintendo)

Yeah this appears to be the first round, but it's odd how you pick the characters before you pick how many characters you'll even be using.

Creating more than 50 amiibo for characters who already have an existing amiibo is a bad idea on many levels.

Best for them to focus on cut vets and newcomers (and even some of the newcomers could struggle, especially Daisy and Isabelle).

I guess... but I want the new poses! Oh well, there's always custom amiibo I guess...

I hope that we get a Red amiibo and not just Squirtle and Ivysaur on their own.

I've never bought an amiibo but I might get the Shulk one to unlock him instantly if the rumor is true

Guys, CROWNED is a playable song on Kirby stages.

Charizard is getting a reprint, so I'd take that as a hint that Squirtle and Ivysaur are getting an amiibo too. No idea about PT himself though. He's technically the primary character we see on the CSS, but he isn't really necessary either since his Pokemon are the real characters.

If he does get an amiibo, I'm 95% sure they'll shove him and his other two Pokemon together in a special three-pack. For whatever reason, NOA loves bundling amiibo (I actually prefer it that way, but that's only because I'm a collector who keeps my amiibo in the box. Less boxes equals less space consumed on my shelf).

Oh okay, so you can turn spirits on during vs mode, so I guess that answer my question about whether you can level up spirits in vs mode battles. So it's basically like turning on and off custom moves from Smash 4 (but with leveling up mechanics). I was worried you would only be able to use and level up spirits during spirit battles, but it's good to see that you can use them in regular vs mode battles
