Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Isn't it pretty much same thing with Gang Plank Galleon?
Ok but it's just more of the bouncy Gangplank Galleon segment but expanded on, and I'm bitter cause I want Crocodile Cacophony
Nah, only the intro is the same as Gangplank. Both songs diverge completely after the opening jingle. The Crocodile Isle theme should've made the cut, though.

Vaan, I know our prior interactions left this detail out, but there's something you must know.

I can be VERY petty about tiny things like this if I think it's good for a laugh

Spyro > Crash. Facts

Yeah. I don’t know if she’s Doomslayer but the lead is a she
Spyro and Crash are just part of a whole single franchise that works like Pokémon.

Spyro needs Crash, and Crash needs Spyro.

It’s basically Pokémon Crash Edition and Pokémon Spyro Edition in my eyes.

The salt if they announce Mallow instead of Geno
I would use Mallow a lot, that’s for sure.

What do you mean? Spyro and Crash are separate franchises

You think so?
Both may be born from different studios, but they have a lot of connections that makes the idea of taking one over the other strange:

-They shared hidden demos on the PS1 titles.
-They are owned by the same company.
-Every related McDonalds promotion included both characters.
-They had a similar development story.
-They share crossovers and even bundles of games.
-Reignited Trilogy happened because of Crash.
-If Crash gets in Smash, Spyro becomes likely.
-They are partners in every media, including Skylanders.
-Etc...

I feel like anyone treating both franchises like a single one with two variations is reasonable. They share too much stuff to be considered separated stuff.

So...are Zelda and Mario the same franchises? Link appears in Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8.

I don’t get your points

I know they’re related but they’re not the same franchise

I think he's trying to say that when people think of the most iconic PS1 franchises, these 2 come to mind. Personally I don't think Activision cares about representing these 2 in a Nintendo game just because they released their remakes on the switch.

They have zero Nintendo history unlike every other 3rd party save for snake (and we know that happened due to Kojima begging Sakurai) so I'll doubt their inclusion until he actually breaks the trend on his own

No, but, like, even before they were owned by the same company they were already being mashed together in a literal attempt at cashing in on the Pokemon colored versions trend, lol.
