Scott's included in that pack, but he wasn't made for that pack. In fact, every single moveset included in that pack was taken from something else, and some (like Bayonetta) are just reskins of unrelated movesets.

Sorry my friend things have been hectic lately haven't had as much time to be on here .

I wanted to get your opinion on some things. Which Nintendo character do you think will be added to the 5 DLC list? Do you think the characters being added will have spirits also? How high do you think the chances of a Bethesda rep are? And how many songs do you think each character will come with?

It’s true that Sakurai has never said manga characters cant get in because of their origin, but I’d say that argument is a completely fair point. I certainly don’t think it’s a ‘ridiculous stigma’.

It's beyond ridiculous as a stigma. It's just an elitist point of view where some characters are better than others. It's bad as an argument to begin with and never results in actual good reasons why one character should get in over another.

There's a difference between likely and "how good a choice is". There's never been a real argument for why Goku is a bad choice. "Not a game character" is a terrible argument for it. That's why he's unlikely/has no chance. That doesn't make him a bad pick in any way. He's an amazingly iconic option that would please tons of fans. He's an excellent pick for what he does. Which is make a great game even better by creating more sales. Obscure 3rd parties are not good picks over him because they just happen to come from a game. It's actually an awful argument that pretends they have zero legitimate merits as a character.

That's why the argument is bad to begin with. It doesn't care about what matters, them being a character first. And what they could bring to the table. And yes, it's a hard elitist type of view. It always was and always will be. They're nothing more than fictional characters to begin with. There's actual good reasons for Goku not to get in, and one of those is "because of too many ridiculous requests that'll make it hard for Sakurai to develop games further without being bombarded/harassed over adding someone". An actual real and notable reason. Another is worry about game balance, due to what he's supposed to be like. Two actual legitimate reasons that care about the character, not an irrelevant point that Sakurai doesn't even support(when he knows that what matters is licensing issues. Not hating on a fictional character because they don't meet some special criteria that's entirely fan-made).

I've been playing overwatch and making myself question why I play overwatch tbh
I'm garbage at it
and it'll probably be the same for Smash Ultimate when it comes out
and I'll be like "man why do i have emotional issues" and then play a game and get decimated and cry

If we ever get a gunslinger I want them to have a special which lets them aim anywhere 360 degrees similar to Samus Returns' free aim shooting, bonus points for ricochet shots. Icons may have utterly failed anyone but that was something they did iirc and it was genuinely cool

Having 10 playable Pokemon in Smash isn't even enough imo... there are currently 809 different Pokemon, with a lot of them having some good move set potential. They're missing out on some really good ones by limiting it to just 10...

Thy Crystal Rings blue one and the Purple Chaos Emerald ones are cool too.

Kinda wish they kept the white fur, but atleast the 3rd alt is still a good one (the black one however...all I see is the lack of Shadow the Hedgehog and my sadness)

Oh, gonna have to disagree with you there. I should preface this by saying I wouldn’t even mind Goku in smash that much.
The reason I think him being a non-videogame character is a legit point against him is because with him in it I feel like smash would begin to lose a sense of focus if you get me. People tend to bring up the mugen comparison, but it holds some validity. Smash, despite definitely having branched out game to game, has still stuck to the theme of characters whose origins are inexorably tied to videogames. It is the core focus of Smash if you will. Sakurai has even described it as the biggest video game crossover ever. If Goku got in, while I wouldn’t be super against it, I think it would be kind of taking away from what makes smash special. You can argue that smash originally was just Nintendo characters too, but I feel the difference lies in that there’s a bigger, uh, ‘breach’ between video games as a medium and all other mediums than there is between Nintendo video game characters and non-Nintendo video game characters. Also, you can argue slippery slope fallacy, but you know people certainly aren’t going to stop with Goku. Yes there have been plenty of high-selling dragon ball games but i feel my other points still stand, at least in my eyes. Plus I’d argue those dragon ball games haven’t actually influenced the medium in any significant way. I guess ultimately, at least for me, smash at its core still should retain some sort of focus, and that focus I feel is videogame charcters. If you add Goku, suddenly that core is gone, and the series has started to lose focus. The line between a non-videogame character who has significance in video games and one who doesn’t id argue is rather arbitrary anyway.

Feel free to disagree with this, I just hope you understand my perspective. I would have wrote more, but I’m on mobile and typing is REALLLY hard.

Last time I was really and truly into the game was... pre-Orisa? Since then I've played mostly arcade or not at all, and the meta has changed drastically. It's amusing how long you can get stun locked, or how people still haven't gathered that 1v6 fights usually don't work out well

Which is great because I genuinely love playing as Gunner characters in fighting games, MMOs (Always main them in every one that has a gunner class), RPGs and other genres.

My personal favorite is typically Gambler-type classes/characters (...if anyone coulda guessed, from my speculation patterns)

i decided to take a break in practicing hitscan aiming and decided to learn Doomfist's zoomy techniques
If he gets in smash I need him to be just as broken when interacting with stage geometry

Honestly I don't feel there's a gunslinger type character I'd like to see in Smash in terms of playstyle. Granted it might be due to the only shooter I ever played so far being Vanquish but I feel a gunslinger should have mobility, and while Doomguy or Master Chief would be badass, I don't see them as 'mobile' but chunky ****s
