It's kinda sad but the only time I've ever gotten anything earlier than street date was that Hocus Pocus sequel book was out in a bookstore like a month before it's actual release date.

I didn't even know it until I got home and googled it. I say it's sad because that sequel book was....well, it's okay, but it just ain't all that great.

Well it all relies on when Gamestop gets their copies in. There is a girl at my local Gamestop who started about 4 weeks ago. A friend of mine preordered a certain game a few weeks ago and inquired about it when he went to Gamestop. The new girl checked to see if he had it all paid for, which he did, and he asked her "when are you getting the copies in?" Now the game was gonna be released in a few days, so they already had copies. She, being confused, went to the back and gave him a copy of said game, thinking it was released (despite the fact that the release date should've been on her screen when she looked up the preorder). He told me about this, and about a week ago I asked her about the situation and if she was ever caught. Apparently she didn't even know she did something wrong before I told her, and she apparently never got in trouble (assuming because they don't do inventory until january or febuary but I don't know).


Point is I could convince her to do the same thing for me but that might be slightly illegal

This will not be illegal for you unfortunately, I mean, playing Smash Bros earlier AND illegally is something even better !

It's "Bowsette", because "Peacher" or "Peachser" aren't as catchy and "Bowsette" gets the idea across elegantly and succinctly.

I ended up getting Silent Hill: Shattered Memories a few days before its release date. Was kind of a funny time on gamefaqs cuz the mods were going into a mod frenzy punishing people who legit had bought the game legally for "illegal activity". A good few people had it early and weren't allowed to talk about it at all or they would get in trouble with the mods

Ette generally refers to a smaller or more feminine/female form of something. Like Toadette themself is female Toad and thus Toadette. Likewise a female Bowser becomes Bowsette.

I'm sorry, but you're really exaggerating how often a starter Pokemon gets so much promotion that they become the clear-cut most important starter Pokemon.

With Gen II, Gen IV, and Gen V, I don't even think you can make a case for one starter being pushed way harder than the rest. The promotion between starters in advertisements and the anime was so inconsistent that you couldn't tell who the heck Game Freak was trying to push more. And as far as Ash being an indicator of who will get heavier promotion, that's not always the case. You can use that argument to support Incineroar if Torracat evolves, but what about Sceptile and Blaziken? Ash owned a Sceptile, May owned a Blaziken. Do you really think Blaziken has gotten less promotion than Sceptile?

There have been cases where starter Pokemon have gotten a bigger push from TPC than the rest, but Charizard, Greninja, and maybe Blaziken are the only examples where I think it's made incredibly obvious. Incineroar has concept art that features Ash and about five minor appearances in the anime, none of which really make him this standout promotional success like you're portraying him as. The fact that so many people were confused with Incineroar's inclusion makes that abundantly clear.

I don't know what Sakurai's process would be for choosing a Champion, but I can't imagine it being much different from Incineroar. In other words, "I liked this character and wanted it in Smash."

Incineroar is way more promoted than the others too.

And no, Incineroar was already a noted promotional character from the start. It's in the concept art. He had something that stood out beyond being supposedly equal to the other starters(which he wasn't. He was always higher from the beginning).

You might also notice how none of those so-called "equal" ones get in. It was only those who were more promoted that got in. Greninja was lucky.

You're way underexaggerating how important promotional factors are. They play a huge role in Pokemon. The only role they've played with Zelda characters is choosing an art design. Every character was already out before being added way down the line. Incineroar's role as being more important is also something notable that made him stand out. Besides that, he didn't just go for a Gen VII Pokemon for the sake of it. It's because it was currently promotable and made it easy to find choices. In fact, all his Pokemon choices were highly promotable characters on their own. Only Greninja had no clear "promotional" factors at the time that we know of. The rest always did. The original starters were all highly memorable(well, less so the middle forms than the first and last ones). But some always stood out more than others. This is blatant as the anime always chooses one as a stand out over the others. One is more promotable overall. Or two are more. It depends the situation. You can tell which one they're trying to promote just by who Ash has go to their highest form. That's always intended. It was no coincidence that Sceptile was there. Or Bayleef. Or Charizard. Or Infernape. And so on.

You also have to remember that not every game promotes the same thing as the anime. The anime has its own points to consider. Yet let's also remember that Mudkip was barely promoted compared to Blaziken and Sceptile. Yes, that means they actually promoted one over the other. Or in this case, two over the last one. Look at how little the Bulbasaur line gets compared to Charizard and Blastoise. This stuff happens.
