I feel that if we're getting a Microsoft rep, the odds are probably 75% Steve, 20% Banjo, 5% Chief. I dunno, I just can't see Chief in Smash. But the same could be said about Bayonetta, at least how I felt prior to her reveal.

Just remember some people obsess over real life serial killers (like Ted Bundy, for example), and a dude with a waifu suddenly seems cute and acceptable.

Are spirits BAD? Like they posses the characters and then you have to fight them..? Even tho some of the characters are GOOD in their series are they “bad” or what is their motive?
For example Shantae isn’t a villain, she’s a hero! But she took over ZSS...or am I just really missing a huge part of the story/looking too deep?

Also side note very very excited for world of light, even if their aren’t more cutscenes I think it will still have a ton of personality and will be a great single player(hopefully potentially co-op) mode

I didn't think the spirits, are supposed to be evil, but I don't know for certain...

And, yeah, I feel like the World of Light is going to be great.

i feel that master chief is somewhat "niche" outside of the US like... yeah.. i know he exists... but here at least halo doesn't seems to be that popular, even if the xbox have a good ammount of popularity :/

Well DQ is only really popular in Japan and fairly niche in other places so the same applies with Halo. Halo is huge in the US & Canada and I think in a lot of Latin America as well.

If I had to a choose a Playstation character, I would go with a pick not many people go with: Cole McGrath from Infamous.

There's not really any 1st party Sony characters i'd want except for maybe Nathan Drake but I don't think Uncharted is a good fit for Smash (kinda redundant to argue that I guess with but I just don't think Uncharted meshes well with Smash).

All the "Playstation" related characters I want in Smash are from the PS1 era and a few PS2 ones as well.

I think they are just kinda desperate and scared. Good ones probably want to do something about their situation but can't due to not having a body.

Also agreed about the story mode. I have years of fanfiction experience, lack of direct plot won't keep me away from creating my own story.

I think so many Playstation characters, including Master Chief, simply don't fit the style that makes Smash great (I know people are going to point to Snake when I say this, but I think he's more fun as an anomoly). I think part of the season Playstation All Stars wasn't very popular (in addition to its horrible look) is that the characters just don't bring that wacky side that gives Smash a lot of its charm.

But that's also coming from a person who finds non-human characters to be the most interesting additions to the roster, so maybe I'm a bit biased. A lot of characters that are built to look like normal people with normal proportions would just look off to me in this game.

But it had numerous cartoony characters like Sackboy, Fat Princess, Sly Cooper etc.

Personally I like it better when there is a mix of both.

From what's to be understood. There's a few factors.

1. Spirits are those who had their bodies completely destroyed so they're scared and desperate.

2.Galeem apparently controls them, which explains why the likes of Shantae, Twintelle, etc, and Blaze the cat would do such.

3. Apparently you fight them to free both them and the fighters from Galeem's control, and in Spirits mode, you level them up and help them return home.

Oh yeah, there are definitely characters from Playstation and Xbox that fit the mold well. I just don't think someone like Nathan Drake does.

Okay this makes sense, and I mean I guess they join you after you beat them so maybe they’re just trying to get your attention so they can help

They just exist to act as a means to "fight" said character even if they aren't directly playable. You're supposed to use your imagination. Though I do question whether Assist Trophies and Final Smash Characters like Protoman, Waluigi, Fiora and the like also apply to this. I would think they wouldn't NEED Spirits. Which is why characters usually take over copies of fighters that have similarities to them, Guts Man as a Giant Red/Orange Mega Man is a spirit fight that resembles him without making a full model. Z. S. Samus acting as a Chun-Li stand in due to her Kick Based moveset and wearing a blue jumpsuit like Alpha Chun-Li.

As for why heroes would fight heroes, it's pretty clear characters are possessed.

At least until DLC, since I'm sure one or two popular characters could get chosen as to be fully playable, and don't have a major role as a boss or Assist.

Two more things about the Red cosplay:

-My friend who loves Pokémon was still living here when i cosplayed as the character. He found the costume cool, and liked the details that i had on the backpack like the Pokéballs with Pokémon figures inside, my custom potion and the Pokédex.

-My costume was apparently fantastic, because it almost won as the favourite costume of the high school that day. But i ended at second spot because of an older student who came with a real uniform from the military and actual gear used in the army (not weapons, of course).

Beat Classic with Jigglypuff and you just get a Sticker that doubles Bair damage.
