I'm assuming that they have a list of more than five characters, and enough of them are first party swordfighters that even if some of them aren't true, one would be in.

Ballot is one of the only things that accurately illustrates what the Smash fandom would buy.
Banjo and Geno for example outplaced Steve and Crash in virtually all fan polls-cry vocal minority all you want it's simply not the case-so that's a point.

Tmk Japan had polls for pretty much every Smash game. The ballot just being the first global one.

- Lloyd Irving
- Noctis

Yes it is a lot of swords but yes they all look cool

Amount of sales doesn't necessarily correlate to the quality of a game.

No one's going to argue that those games sold well, but many would argue that they are narratively and mechanically flawed.

Hey, I actually do have gripes with Fire Emblem. It's not because it's anime, it's garbage anime.

I guess if nintendo had their way with characters, maybe this guy from that new Dragalia Lost mobile game.

Smash is a good oportunity to bring attention to the new market they are trying to tap into. There is also the talks in the air with Cygames. And this character might be considered a first party character with a sword.

We got **** because they didn't like the character.

I'm trying to point out how the idea of the character being DLC doesn't really make sense with everything we know.

Only thing that's stopping me from committing to these more common choices is the fact that Hitagi said no one has outright guessed one of the names going around besides Steve. Square's got those seven names or whatever, but everything else seems up in the air.

I honestly don't know what to think at this point besides my strong feeling that both Steve and Sora are in.

I think that's likely because he realized that not that many people care about Sakurai's other franchise. I'm relieved we didn't get any more KI in this game.

I have nothing wrong with Fire Emblem (I've never played, not my genre of choice) but get annoyed simply due to the amount of representation in Smash compared to other games with equal or more popularity/importance. If you're going to add other sword fighters, I'd at least like a somewhat different look like what Shulk provided.

To each their own, I suppose. I thought the newer games were fun, and I'm a gameplay first, story second man. I couldn't care less if the story sucks as long as the game is fun.

And TBH I liked Awakening's story.
