Question; why is Steve so hated in Smash? Is minecraft really that bad?

Its community mainly.
And the internet's tendency to zoom in on the worst aspects of that community.

I don't think DLC fighters are getting on the mural otherwise we would have seen Piranha Plant on it after it was revealed.

Minecraft has a certain stigma surrounding it that turns some people off of it.

It's lit to hate popular things.

I mean that’s partially why, but I don’t think that’s the only or main reason. (Also pretty sure you should change your signature)

And she just generally seems faster. New jab looks good and UAir still kills really early.

Gohan and Trunks actually makes Gohanks, and Heroes has done that.

We already have Captain Falcon for all our Sentai needs.

If a character isn't grand enough to be on the mural, then they weren't grand enough to be a playable character in the first place.

I just think he looks like crap.

If he does show up, I would want him to be redesigned to fit into Smash's art aesthetic. But there's no way that would happen, because being blocky is that character's entire thing.

Anyone got their favorite alts? Meta Ridley and Red Daisy are pretty strong contenders for GOAT status.

Shirtless Shulk Isabelle's pink alt looks adorable. I also liked Team Aqua Pichu and Gold Peach but I'm generally not too big on alts.

DQ1/2's Heroes in the game were Nameless but later DQ1's Hero was called Roto and DQ2's Hero was called Allen.

This is incorrect. Roto is the Japanese name for Erdrick. DQ1 and 2's heroes are descendants of Roto in Japan.

That's why Erdrick's Shield straight up says Roto on it in Norse runes.

Minecraft itself is a fantastic or at least a good game, everyone can probably agree to that. People just don't like the audience of those who play it, and that somehow means Steve is bad. Also something something muh Banjo.

I'd gladly take Lycanroc and a Gen VII stage as DLC, though I'm sure everyone else would be peeved that Sakurai double-dipped instead of moving on the next Gen for characters.

Illumination Studios isn't incapable of making a solid entertaining kids flick I don't know why this notion is passed around.

Despicable Me, Sing!, Secret Life of Pets are all solid entertaining kids flicks that both critics and audiences loved.

So it's not like it's impossible for them to make a good movie.

People often have a habit of accentuating the negative if someone makes a product they don't care for. A good example of that within Nintendo fandoms is Metroid with Sakamoto as after Other M you'd think he never made a good game despite those like Super Metroid existing on his resume.

It's definitely true that Illumination has made some mediocre to forgettable movies, no one will deny that, but that doesn't mean their good stuff should be forgotten and that it's impossible for them to make good movies in the future. They can do it, and the fact that they're working closely with Miyamoto should be indicative that they are at least trying to for Mario.

No, but the character models have always looked ugly as sin and I don't want to look at that when I'm playing Smash.
