Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Let's be honest, the people who are pushing for popular requests to get in Smash are probably the same people who would buy all of the DLC regardless.

Even if Nintendo knows who we want, they'd probably want to promote new games or choose a character a lot of people would recognize over someone who would only appeal to hardcore fans.

I was just pointing out users keep using "mysteriously missing" as an indicator of something greater such as becoming playable, which it's not.

And... There is some nit picking I could do on irrational conclusions made about mii costumes...

In Smash 4 Mii costumes were essentially a consolation prize for not being playable... We saw that with KKR, Geno, Chrom, Inkling etc.

Yes playable characters also had costumes but they were playable before their costumes existed.

It's never been done inversely... In that we had a promotion to playable in the same game.. Considering the dlc has been decided earlier on in the project plan.. I don't think it bodes well for Rex or Arms. But yeah I guess the bamco and geno are still feasibly on the table still for inclusion since theyre costumes would be ports as opposed to new consolation prizes.

Yes, and sadly this is why we're never going to get Geno in DLC nor in the base game

Both things can happen, and even be connected.

Crash is a good example (he will get a new game in 2019, after all), but they can also pick some demanded characters to promote new games of their franchises.

-Sylux for Prime 4.
-Black Shadow or a new F-Zero character for the possible new game.
-Lloyd for a new Tales Of or port.
-Bandana Dee for Star Allies or a new Kirby project.
-Banjo for a possible new game (there are clues about something related to the franchise).

And some more.
Unless Vergeben denies someone, we should be open to anything, more so after Piranha Plant.

The fact that Geno got a costume is a huge deal already.

He is the only party member from every Mario RPG game to get one.

And he is from the one made by a company outside of Nintendo, nonetheless.

Not even Fawful has a costume.

The reason why I’m not really inclined to go full on in Hitagi’s information on DLC is simply because of how much harder it is for people to leak Nintendo’s DLC content to begin with.

Smash 4 was notorious for having the game with the most leak history. But aside from Roy and Ryu, who were leaked by Nintendo themselves, barely anyone had any clue on who the DLC characters were (and is why Corrin had the truest salty reactions).

There is far less people for Nintendo to worry about when comparing DLC to the base game, as it’s only limited to the development team, the higher ups, and a few members of the marketing team that show the DLC specifically in Nintendo produced videos.

Of course I could be wrong, but looking at everything Hitagi said so far, we have FOUR DLC characters that would’ve been leaked if Hitagi’s statements are in fact true, leaving only one in the dust. That’s crazy when you compare to how Nintendo handled Smash 4’s roster with Ultimate’s.

This whole situation in general doesn’t sit well with me to go “100% this is it”. And seeing how Hitagi themself said that Nintendo was going out of their way to trip everyone up, seeing how Nintendo would have a much easier time controlling how their DLC information goes out, I’m willing to be a lot more critical.

SIDE NOTE: I love how Hitagi says that he thinks the DLC roster would make a lot of people happy when it did the opposite and a lot of people aren’t happy where the DLC roster could potentially be going.

Interesting seeing how the FE characters don’t share the same 1 theme anymore. I did like the FE fanfare though.

But that doesn't change the fact Heihachi is more prominent and has more an impact on gaming than Lloyd.

Tekken did after all manage to become THE fighting game franchise. Like honestly do you know how big of a deal it is that it's bigger than Street Fighter now? It's a pretty big deal.

And I'm not even saying this to **** on Lloyd man. I'm saying it because it's true. Hell, I wouldn't even mind Lloyd, but don't **** on Heihachi and his franchise's accomplishments to get Lloyd in Smash.

It’s worth noting that he also said he hasn’t heard anything about Sora or Geno, while he has mentioned hearing murmurs of Dragon Quest.
