Just because a generic Mook can get in doesn't open the door for non video game characters.Might as well start adding 4th party characters to smash if plants can get in. No one is too irrelevant.
No he hasn't.Verge has absolutely backed up Hitagi's claims about Steve.
Reads as backing up to me, but that's more accurate. My bad.No he hasn't.
He said that he still hasn't heard that Steve is in, but based on the DLC and that he's heard about minecraft, it is likely.
Hitagi said they may have fell through but now says they are looking goodDidn’t somebody say awhile back that Katarina talks fell through or something? This was a few days ago, and I don’t have a source, but I could have sworn I read that.
Regardless, if Nintendo/Sakurai are just deciding, then I really don’t know how sure we should be on any picks until we see more evidence. Verg never directly said anything about Steve or Katarina or whatever her name is, that’s all based on Hitagi.”, no?
A plant who is more iconic than the majority of the roster, has appeared consistently since the very first Mario, has thousands of hundreds of pieces of merch, just his HEAD is iconic...Might as well start adding 4th party characters to smash if plants can get in. No one is too irrelevant.
No one is saying being a generic mook and being obscure are synonymous. Prevalence isn't the issue people take with the character. You know it's almost like everytime someone gets up in arms about a generic enemy getting in they forget the generic enemy is from Mario and even Sakurai said it himself.
There's like 4 to 5 henchmen in Mario that just....everybody knows. Even people who barely play video games.
Piranha Plant is one of those 4 to 5 henchmen.
No, they said it's entirely possible that the talks fell through.Didn’t somebody say awhile back that Katarina talks fell through or something? This was a few days ago, and I don’t have a source, but I could have sworn I read that.

Bandai Namco also own stock in Cygames and they're continually developing THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls. I think I even showed Nekoo and DaybreakHorizon during a discussion about this actual financial reports about how iM@S stacks over Granblue. And again, iM@S has the upper hand with Nintendo history, with Dearly Stars on the DS.Nintendo owns stock in Granblue's Creator, Cygames, and they're collaborating to develop Dragalia Lost.
piranha plant is the third enemy you encounter in super mario bros, its more famous than most of the other enemies in the game tooYou know it's almost like everytime someone gets up in arms about a generic enemy getting in they forget the generic enemy is from Mario and even Sakurai said it himself.

I mean he's certainly more recognizable to a wide mass of people than Rosalina, Daisy, and Bowser Jr the other recent Mario additions to the roster.A plant who is more iconic than the majority of the roster, has appeared consistently since the very first Mario, has thousands of hundreds of pieces of merch, just his HEAD is iconic...
Woo my waifu is back in the game!Hitagi said they may have fell through but now says they are looking good
do you actually want a character from an idol gacha game in smash bros or are you trying to make a pointBandai Namco also own stock in Cygames and they're continually developing THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls. Someone get Nekoo on the case because as far as I recall it was something along the lines of "I haven't heard anything to contradict it".Verge has absolutely backed up Hitagi's claims about Steve.
Theoretically speaking, if Vergeben came out and said something, would we be obligated to take his word as gospel at this point? He doesn't.
Seriously do not know why this guy's word is taken as gospel when he hasn't gotten 1 thing right yet.
Because Vergeben says they share some sources? Except that Vergeben also said that his sources don't hear the same things?
Tots I am so confused are we pushing an iM@S rep nowBandai Namco also own stock in Cygames and they're continually developing THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls. I think I even showed Nekoo and DaybreakHorizon during a discussion about this actual financial reports about how iM@S stacks over Granblue. Yeah, I think you're right. That was a big leap. Apologies.Someone get Nekoo on the case because as far as I recall it was something along the lines of "I haven't heard anything to contradict it".
Like I'm accepting I may be wrong but this guy is not that credible yet. Doubly so if you consider how he burst on the scene talking about how Smash Bros is now a kids game because they'll be adding "a ****ing Minecraft character".
He's absolutely been correct about other games though. It's just, yknow...convenient.
I don't know about that, because it does seem to be ''WAAA. GENERIC ENEMY. WAAAAAAA. HE STOLE SPOT FROM -insert character who isn't prevalent or even that iconic-"No one is saying being a generic mook and being obscure are synonymous. Prevalence isn't the issue people take with the character.
I'm trying to make a point about how it makes absolutely no sense why they would include Granblue Fantasy in Smash when THE iDOLM@STER would be much easier to negotiate and obtain.do you actually want a character from an idol gacha game in smash bros or are you trying to make a point
because that might be the only thing worse than granblue lady
I have reason to believe that most sources are going to be going to Vergeben at this point.Theoretically speaking, if Vergeben came out and said something, would we be obligated to take his word as gospel at this point?
I think everyone needs to relax and give it time until we hear the first character for DLC officially. At that point, we will know which "leakers" are completely wrong.
Piranha Plant murdered everyone's family after slitting their hype's throat.......What's up? What we talking about?
I’d argue thinking a character is too generic as a character is a perfectly valid complaint/thought.I don't know about that, because it does seem to be ''WAAA. GENERIC ENEMY. WAAAAAAA. HE STOLE SPOT FROM -insert character who isn't prevalent or even that iconic-"
I mean I have my issues with him personally. I'm planning to pick him up and love him, but I think it would have been nice to see Toad or Paper Mario at least before him. Or of course Geno, for the fan want of it all.
But as it stands a lot of the complaints I'm seeing do seem to boil down to ''I hate him because I think he's generic and doesn't deserve the spot but -character from dead franchise-, -one off appearance character here- does!"
No, Idolmaster loops on itself and becomes negative 10 on the scale of picks.do you actually want a character from an idol gacha game in smash bros or are you trying to make a point
because that might be the only thing worse than granblue lady
It literally never has been though from the very start of Smash Bros.I’d argue thinking a character is too generic as a character is a perfectly valid complaint/thought.
Are you sure the fans wouldn't hate that their faves can get touched by male characters? We are talking about the same kind of fanbase that threatened to kill Kazuchika Okada with throwing knives because he dated a Love Live seiyuu.I'm trying to make a point about how it makes absolutely no sense why they would include Granblue Fantasy in Smash when THE iDOLM@STER would be much easier to negotiate and obtain.
The reactions over at Japan would be absolutely astronomical, if they went with iM@S. I guarantee you they'd probably net $30-50M JUST OFF that DLC set alone if they went with iM@S, that's how huge it is.
Do I want Haruka Amami in Smash? No, but it makes total sense.
I dunno. I mean one could logically see Lakitu in Smash. The more I think about it, the more I think Lakitu would be a better choice than Piranha Plant. I think he has better moveset potential and it's more recognizable as an actual character considering there's been one in every Mario Kart game and one with dialogue and sort of plot significance in Mario 64.
yeah but pikachu is a mascotIt literally never has been though from the very start of Smash Bros.
We've had Pokemon and Yoshi from Day One.
There's more than one of Yoshi. There's more than one of Pikachu and Jigglypuff.
How ''generic" was ever a thing baffled me. It baffled me when it came up with Toad, it baffles me when it comes up with Bandana Waddle Dee, it just...
It baffles me.
What? Context please? That sounds crazy. Are you sure the fans wouldn't hate that their faves can get touched by male characters? We are talking about the same kind of fanbase that threatened to kill Kazuchika Okada with throwing knives because he dated a Love Live seiyuu.
Careful, you'll get crucified for stuff like that.It sucks to say it but Pirahna Plant was, is and will always be more relevant than Waluigi and Geno, everyone and their mother who Pirahna Plant is.
Most of the pokemon are more ... "characterry"It literally never has been though from the very start of Smash Bros.

Smash gave these Pokemon personality. Most of the pokemon are more ... "characterry"
I mean, we can associate something to them, Pikachu has a playfull personality, Incineroar is a wrestler, Lucario is the generic cool silent guy.
It's hard to compare a character with any traits to a mook who never really got anything given to them before.
yeah because mario games have never given generic enemies personalities beforeMost of the pokemon are more ... "characterry"
