Also, I know people are touchy about the subject because Corrin, but I don't get why so many people treat the characters Nintendo picks like the worst thing since the plague.

I honestly cannot think of an OST more enjoyable than P5. The tracks are amazing as standalone songs, as well as being very effective in setting a tone for whatever situation you're in. The genre shifts are very well done

Not my favourite in the series (that honor goes to Persona 3), but Shoji Meguro nailed the thematic music in Persona 5, I had to give it to him.

I have to wonder what would've happened if they didn't remove it. Some initial backlash, a few negative articles, twitter being twitter, but nothing that would seriously impede this game's sales, and then eventually something else would capture peoples' ire.

I mean I get why they removed it. I'm just wondering if there would've been anything significant that happened if they didn't.

Honestly, the reaction to the backlash is far worse than the backlash itself. Which is an internet rule I learned a while ago. The only thing worse than complainers are the people complaining about the complainers.

They're treating a simple "Hey, this could be in bad taste" reaction like it were hordes of slavering hippies.

It's more irritating than it is worrying. Nintendo of America habitually censors content for decades. What changed was the focus of the sensibilities and nothing more. The world won't end because they removed the feather, but I'm just like "couldn't you let it go just this once?"

The access people have to become journalists is indeed problematic, but despite whether or not you agree, it is important to know and understand what others believe in and how they react to things. Not saying the G&W thing is a good example but listening to what others think is often done through journalism and various reports, and it's important to at least understand where they're coming from

The viewpoint that journalists shouldn't be taken seriously is increasingly common, and that's a terrible thing. Not gonna delve too far into politics here, but breeding distrust in journalists as a whole creates an illusion of a reputable journalist being on the same level as a conspiracy theorist on some sketchy alt-media site, all under the banner of "fake news." That shouldn't be the case.

Support actual journalism, folks. With money. Buy a subscription.

If you want a game in just for the OST, might I recommend The World Ends With You.

You just basically narrowed it down to "if you want a game in by Square Enix in general" if you're going off of OST. All Square Enix RPGs have probably the best soundtracks in all of gaming period their composers are all insanely talented.

I'm super conflicted over Rex & Pyra's chances. Everyone seems to think they're deconfirmed, but I have to wonder if Nintendo chose the DLC, they'd know that Rex & Pyra would make them lots of money since they're really popular characters. You could argue the Mii costume is supposed to appeal to those fans and tempt them to get the fighter's pass, but eh.

Chain of Memories is not a retelling of KH1 it's story for the most part has basically nothing to do with KH1 apart from referencing at certain points in the story that's about it.

I'm kind of downplaying myself a ton. That quote's from Digital Devil Saga 2, but I have only ever played Nocturne. My knowledge of the series barely scratches the surface, so I can't really have a meaningful discussion about the entire franchise outside of what I know and what I've heard of. Honesty is the best policy, after all.

Luckily, my expectations are baaaaaaaaaase-line.
I'm at rock bottom so it can only go up from here...
except maybe lower if we got another ad character

The only way our ad characters are any good is if they're characters whose franchises have been dead for a while and are being brought back as a way to promote them. Exceptions to the rule can exist after all. Just list anyone you have a personal attachment to that could have their non-nintendo original game *cough* FFVII *cough* re-released on the Switch, and have that coincide with their appearance in Smash.

An advertisement win-win!

That's all on them though. They put themselves in this postion. How do you think "CNN/MSNBC/Whatever is fake news" meme became a thing? How do you think "Can't spell ignorant without IGN" came to be? And as far conspiracy theorists like Alex "Bat**** Insane" Jones goes, I don't buy what they say either. News nowadays has become so intreched in politics and lies that's it's hard to tell who's really believing what they're saying.

Now, maybe there are some good journalists out there, but until the general media cleans their act up, I'm not supporting any news outlet whatsoever.
And don't try to tell me otherwise. Sorry, but it's my decision.

Literally no one was going to see this attack and get offended by it unless they went back and did research on the game and watch game it came from. Game and Watch honestly looked cooler with the feather. I suppose if people really were offended by it, it should be removed, but it just seems like everyone jumped on the "racist and watch" bandwagon

Fair I suppose but let's be honest Square JRPGs pretty much set the bar for how to do a JRPG soundtrack just in general, all their music is unique in their own way.

It even shows in that one part that people can resonate with Sakurai in the November Direct. "I wonder if I'll ever get a break." Just imagine being Sakurai, getting more and more of these requests and probably even complaints from some people on that tweet after the Direct aired, and ESPECIALLY with the Piranha Plant causing quite the knee-jerk reaction. There are not many instances where a Japanese developer can really open up and give it to people straight in the eye, but in those two tweets, you're never gonna get a moment like that again.

Now look, was I mad or sad that I didn't see the likes of Banjo-Kazooie, Geno, Rex & Pyra or who have you show up in the roster? Kinda, yeah, but I already have so much ****ing content, that I can wait very comfortably until the day they arrive as DLC. Was I disappointed at the Direct? Yeah, but the content that they've already shown is still in the game, and looking back more and more, this game is looking still as promising as it were before the Direct aired.

He has almost destroyed his family life and marriage producing Melee, developed calcific tendinitis overtime and straight up almost ****ing killed himself while producing Smash For.

Yet it still. Ain't. Enough.

So could you blame Sakurai for this one instance to be completely dead honest?
