I understand how it may come across as harsh but after the months of this and falling victim to it myself I'm not gonna try to gently go "no no wait baby..." with this particular topic just because I really don't want people to set themselves up like we all did.

"All leaks are fake" is the absolute wrong lesson to take away from the Grinch. Much like how the ESRB leak convinced people the Grinch leak had to be real because people took the wrong lesson from that one, that tearing apart image leaks only makes them more real.

Every single character leaked. Leaks always happen.

Those of you who are about to reply "Richter didn't" or "Piranha Plant" didn't, they did. They absolutely did. It's just that Verg was the only person willing to put up with the community this time, and all it takes is seeing all the hate he constantly gets to convince everybody else to not say a damn thing.

Blue Falcon has a brand new cockpit with a lot of new changes. Comparing it side by side with the Smash 4 model shows how different it is. It could be a hint to a new F-Zero game that's using the designs from Smash Bros. Or it may just be a random redesign

• Character 2: Banjo & Kazooie/Steve (one or the other) - Nintendo Direct March 2019
• Character 3: Leon Kennedy - E3 2019
• Character 4: Heihachi - EVO 2019
• Character 5: Katalina - Winter 2019 (No clue when)

* Sora, Banjo/Steve, and Leon in Ultimate.

A lot of series have shorter victory themes now. Sakurai seems intent on getting us back to the action asap.

Why are people assuming VGA is where the first character will be shown, anyway? From what I've read, MP4 seems to be what's being teased and considered likely. VGA is probably where Bayo 3 will get it's first gameplay footage too.

Puff being good again is kinda scary because she's incredibly degenerate in the only other Smash game she's good in. I don't think a lot of people that aren't Puff mains want to have Melee Puff again.

Like, realistically speaking, if I had to guess (in no particular order):

1. Steve (Not because of Verg I was the original steve defender )
2. FE: Three Houses
3. Mach Rider
4. F-Zero (Based on Mc.Rad 's theory that there's a new F-Zero teased)
5. Geno

Only thing we've seen is a Formula Skell Spirit.

Teams are big and diverse. They can be finishing Piranha Plant while development is pretty far ahead on another character pretty easily.

I believe people have said they have, but I'm not gonna lie, I hadn't even heard of Spawn Wave until Grinch Leak. I know there are two users in this thread who seem extremely confident in them, but TBH, I've kinda stopped taking text leaks seriously anymore. They're waaaay to flip floppy for my tastes to put any stock into past "Huh, interesting. Maybe that will happen".

We've seen only a Skell spirit from X. That's it. Nothing else. Which could mean:

1. They completely skipped XCX content in favor of XC2.
OR
2. They're holding off the content because Elma is one of the 5 DLC characters.

Sakurai did put an emphasis on "We're not ready to announce the DLC characters just yet."

We may be given one if not two dlc characters announced to give incentive to purchasing the DLC season pass...


Sakurai also acknowledged the awkwardness of purchasing a pass without knowing what your getting... He may throw us a bone

As KiBom noted, lots of things get worked on simultaneously.

But further, Piranha Plant is being offered as an early adopter incentive. It kind of isn't really competing with the season pass, as it's free and meant entirely to get people to buy the game now instead of later. I can totally see them announcing the first season pass character well before Piranha Plant is out.

What would be far less likely is, say, the second season pass character being announced before the first season pass character is out. Then they're actively competing against each other for individual sales for no reason.

In his Spawncast one of the guest said it's impossible they show a DLC there and will keep the fighter content secret until E3 (I absolutely don't believe this AT ALL, I refuse to think that we will have to wait 6 months to know any DLC after Piranha Plant)
Spawn then said that it could make sense so it's either Smash DLC or Metroid prime grand premiere... However take a look at this

Heck it can be BOTH Metroid AND Smash DLC

We've seen only a Skell spirit from X. That's it. Nothing else. Which could mean:

1. They completely skipped XCX content in favor of XC2.
OR
2. They're holding off the content because Elma is one of the 5 DLC characters.

Interesting, tbh I've always found the prospect of significant DLC development to be at the point where they can start marketing it already surprising, seeing as how Sakurai himself said they'd get started as soon as the game is done. I'd really be shocked if they were so far along they had a character trailer in their pocket for December

What's funny is I've actually taken a much different lesson from the Grinch Leak. I never really believed Grinch, found the Box difficult to argue against, was positive about Kencineroar up to their reveal, and have trusted Verg up till now. On top of that after looking over older leaks and a comment from Verg himself, even PP got out. The information is being leaked. One has to be skeptical, sure, but if source is credible enough/makes enough sense it's worth listening too. Verg (and apperantly Spawn Wave for that matter) seem to be two of those sources.
