Seriously though... anything Silenthill would be amazing, but that isn't going to happen. as for likely that aren't castlevania?
I still would love Bomberman, Goemon is pretty cool and would totally dig Zone of the Enders content. Contra content would be also very nostalgic.

Goemon mainly for me.

But zoe would also be great. I loved those games. Shame it never made it past 2.

Silent hill might be too intense. Better use the baseball version of pyramid head.

This. As I was saying before the last reveals, Geno is a hard sell as DLC (unless he had been the freebie), but a juggernaut from pretty much any other Square series will bring in the money.

I can agree on that.

Unlike Banjo, Geno is in a spot similar to Goombella, Mr.L or any Paper Mario-exclusive character.

The Mii costume is something great already.

I think if Geno was gonna be in he would be in the base game, considering Sakurai wanted him before. Maybe Square blocked him. I can't see him as DLC.

Agreed sadly I feel like Geno is a character that makes way more sense as a base roster character rather than DLC. DLC feels more like a way to get more non NIntendo reps added into Smash while base roster is where the big Nintendo reps are added.

I just noticed for that both singles and doubles at the Spanish invitational, won. I don't even want to think of she of all characters pulled that off. Well, the player's good.

the tournament featured Final Smash meters, and Daisy (and probably peach's too) Final Smash is disgusting.

So i wouldn't take those stats too seriously, Plus, teh first 3ds smash tournament the final was a dittto between pre buffs bowsers.

I checked the tournament and she seems plenty strong. Strangely enough, no one played Peach, I hope that it's just that Daisy is new and fresh and not that Daisy is just a better Peach

As a longtime Peach main, I hope that neither one is better than the other personally. I just want to be able to use either one without feeling like I'm gimping myself by not using the other.

Agreed. I have always found comparisons between Geno and K. Rool completely disingenuous. The character was arguably the most visible of Nintendo's villains back during the 90s, after Bowser. I'm eagerly looking forward to his return to his home series.

Me too.
He was actually my first videogame villain besides Bowser.

I just post recently that a Minecraft event is happening X Smash. Soo apparently money wins Microsoft side. Character not confirmed yet, but we're 5 days away. It's Nov. 9th. I guess it's getting tighter n tighter for Geno.. *gulp*

Yes I hope it happens, for the loyal Geno fans that deserve their character to be treated with kindness. Lets say worst case scenario Geno is not in Smash then he has to sit on a shelf again to never be used. If Square sells him to Nintendo though, now he as a character is full of possibility. He could easily make it into the following Smash as he would be a Nintendo character. This is what I hope for, and I really feel Geno fans should push for this if he does not make it into Smash. Ah well I guess we don't not need to worry yet, Steve may still come though ha.

This was the song I hope makes it into Smash bros Ultimate, Octopath Traveler has some really amazing music. On a side note I heard their was also talks with Sakurai and Bethesda I wonder what that will lead to any ideas on that?

Sakurai's comment about not being able to add Geno in Brawl also came out after he decided on the roster for Ultimate. Feel bad for Geno fans, honestly, they got their hopes up over a costume.

I am still writing my thoughts on the Ultimate roster. It will also include my thoughts on who I think is going to be DLC. I am at over 13,000 words for this piece.

I am going to step back from speculation after this year. There is nothing really left for me to look forward to. Ultimate gave me most of what I had hoped for. The only significant character related hope I have left at this point is Dixie Kong and I am not optimistic about her DLC prospects (if Elma and Bandanna Dee do not have spirits in Ultimate, then I will take having a spirit as a de-confirmation for being DLC).

This could very well be the last major thing I ever write in regards to Smash Bros. speculation and analysis.

Until the next Smash Bros game in 2025?

I too am looking forward to K. Rool's return to the DKC series. After playing Tropical Freeze earlier this year, I missed not seeing him or the Kremlings in the game, even though the Snowmads were still quite creative.

(I didn't play DK Returns, so his absence didn't affect me as much personally there, though it did still sting honestly)

Ehhhhhhhhhhh I doubt K.Rool was that big in the 90's. Especially as it's a fact that a lot of people didn't beat DKC back then too. Maybe Dedede fits that, idk. Ridley doesn't despite Super Metroid's legendary status though cause that **** flopped iirc

I feel like the costume works for me.
Geno is the only party member from any RPG game on the Mario franchise to get one, so that is a thing to celebrate.

And with the fantastic Mii Customizer for Switch, we can make a more accurate version of the character with enough effort,

I don't think there's a single Konami character I would want in Smash, because I don't know enough about Konami and their games. I've never owned a Konami game, so I don't have a connection with any character from any of their games. I don't think I've ever played a Konami game, either

Am I the only person who thinks a Contra rep would be cool? I would love a Contra stage in Smash the shear nostalgia alone makes me want it so bad. i remember beating all of Contra one and two by myself without dying a single time when I was like five. I feel like Contra deserves a rep they were a huge IP back in the day.

Honestly the only ones left would be Bomberman (who has been disconfirmed) and a very ballsy left-field choice of Frogger. Anyone else would be an odd addition to say the least.

The only third parties I can see getting DLC are Capcom, Square, and Namco. I'd be very surprised if Ubisoft and Microsoft got one despite some murmurs about the latter.

On the Lucas part: He is a veteran. Being a Smash veteran automatically gives you a large following, no matter what. That elevates his sale numbers.

That’s understandable, still though I don’t believe that Geno wouldn’t sell well.

I mean, Geno's a character who is so painfully minor, kind of popular in the hardcore Smash community and owned by an incredibly stingy company
Lucas was highly requested in Japan back in Brawl, is owned by Nintendo and by Smash 4 was a veteran, not to mention hardcore Nintendo fans as a whole want Mother 3 to be brought over. It's not exactly the same situation

I’d argue that while Geno might not be more known than Lucas, his cult following and hype around him can give him a lot of advertisement around the Internet. Not only that, but being a unique and fun cool looking fighter would draw people in, I think the character alone sells no matter how unknown he is because of how interesting he is.

Because back in 1996, it seemed like a good idea to have SMRPG and its content co-owned by Square, because surely, going forward, Square and Nintendo's business relationship would be as healthy as ever.
