It is ****ing mind-blowing to me that Rising, a non-canon spinoff, gets the attention it does when it isn't even a good game. Christ, that story is so awful, and in no way does it match Metal Gear's actual ethos.

The story of Rising isn't great, but saying it's a straight up bad game is some fighting words.

It's kind of in the "who cares" category because it's the only major character that lines up with all the major insiders and the Grinch plus it's an unpopular character PLUS it's an echo. Most people feel like, even without this, it would still be almost inevitable so no one really wants to do that much research to test its validity.

I can get behind all of these. Do you imagine Layton would use a fencing sabre?

He's used it before so he could, though if he where to use a melee weapon, he might use something a bit more unconventional such as a lead pipe or if Sakurai wanted to go for something a bit more amusing. A candle holder as seen in the new Layton's Mystery Journey anime opening. Or maybe do like Peach and have him switch between each weapon every time he uses his smash attack.

Honestly same. That's why I bring him up. He and Scrooge are ones that break my usual "must be a videogame character" rule because of their excellent games and what they could bring to the table.

If Bond had made it in, we would be having a very different discussion every speculation period, and that just blows my mind. He could've changed everything.

So, a bunch of people earlier were talking about how they were worried that Banjo was gonna sound like a real bear, but when you look at how they've treated other 3rd parties, I highly doubt that. Look at Megaman's death, Cloud's victory theme, his limit change, Ryu's shield sound effects, Bayonetta's EVERYTHING. Banjo is definitely getting super special treatment, same way as Simon and Richter.

Tried to keep the Nomura style but probably failed lmao alongside finishing the Crow symbol and removing the TWEWY characters.

I completely agree. The possibility of banjo getting in raises my hopes a little because Rare and GE have had smash representation in the form of the motion sensor bomb. I don't think pierce brosnan would be against it either, not to mention the Bond license is up for grabs...but then there's the issue of MGM.

Scrooge would be a great pick too. The bouncing pogo stick would be so awesome in smash. Plus a Moon stage with a brand new smash-flavored remix? Count me in

As much as I would love Cloud in a dress, I highly doubt Square would let them. It’s probably the same situation with Sonic where they want him to be ~recognizable~. Also probably the reason he doesn’t have an Aerith inspired alt.

I TOLD you guys that MTP had a connection to the leak. There's NO way that was a coincidence that he says 45 days before the game comes out there will be a massive leak and then VOILA massive leak on the exact day he predicts it.
