If someone dislikes the roster that is fine, there are many reasons why that could be and some of them are totally valid.
Also just stop pretending disliking something is greedy or an insult to Sakurai or Nintendo. They get PAID to do this and on their own will, they can handle it.

I think discrediting credible sources based on things they got wrong in the past is a dumb idea. And ignorant as well if they got things about the game right already as in the case of Emily. It's fine if you don't agree (like myself) but don't go around acting pretentious because they're not confirming the Banner Leak.

The biggest problem I have with people at the moment is that they're hounding these people for their opinion, only to get mad at them when their opinion isn't what they wanted to hear.

Oh heavens no! That would be absolutely horrible and shouldn't be tolerated. He's done so much for us already at this point lol. Even though I'm on #TeamReal, I'll also acknowledge that there is a substantial chance the leak is fake after all. But even then, I would still be satisfied with what we got, considering it's more than I expected in the first place. I'd like to think that most of the people on that team know better (but then again, I'm always known to mostly optimistic about stuff, so idk lol)

I personally don't understand why people put so much weight on Verg's credibility in the first place, considering how badly he botched the predictions for DBFZ, I was there during all the speculation for that, AND the DLC. Vergeben's "leaks" were brought up time and again, yet Radditz and Zarbon never showed up. And Android 21 did indeed become playable. And this isn't a case of something that can be brushed aside as "they're delayed for later DLC" when team behind the game is small and strapped for time to meet dedlines. If the characters were finished or planned, they would have launched with the game like Vergeben said they would. Yet, now he's saying they're FOR sure gonna be season 2, alongside SS4 Goku, Jiren, Gogeta, and Ultra Instinct Goku. Despite that most people have caught onto the fact that the DBFZ DLC sets all come with a certain theme attached to them.

I have zero reason to believe a single word Vergeben says.




I loved your videos dude. Great job. I've watched all the videos from all the big name youtubbers covering the leak, and thus far, you're the only one who's sat down, and properly explained everything in a level-headed way. Everyone else was being so smug about what they knew, but then when it came to their videos, they resorted to personal opinions and tried to pass them off as facts. So far, you're the only one who took the time to separate what they know, and what they think. Thanks for that.

And I suppose Verge's mistakes from DBFZ should overrule his accuracy with Ultimate so far? Because as of right now, he hasn't gotten anything wrong with this specific game yet.

Say what you want about Verge, but don't automatically dismiss everything he's gotten right just because this leak contradicts what he says. Between him and this leak, only one has proven to be right in the past.

And I'll give you a hint: It's not the leak.

No way man. Even if the leak doesn't come to be, Sakurai has already gone above and beyond all my expectations with this game. He deserves nothing but my praise and admiration for all his hard work.

Sure, I'd be bummed, but I'd learn to deal with it.

Both Gamecube on VC and Pokemon Stars were Eurogamer. If you're going to dismiss someone's credibility, at least get their claims right. I posted a link of what Emily has said.

But yes, she has gotten things wrong, and shouldn't be treated as gospel. No leaker should. But simply listing the things she's gotten incorrect when the list of what she's gotten right, especially as of late, far exceeds it... just makes everyone outright rejecting her credibility look incredibly biased and even more unreliable.

She backed it at all up. That's on her. The burden of proof is on the leaker's claims.

Don't support something if you don't think it's real yourself.

I've been looking into Team Fake's arguments since I'm leaning more to being indecisive these days and I have one big issue with Team Fake's argument of the whole leak being a gigantic hoax: Why doesn't ACP or whatever the name of the company Eric currently works for deny being involved with Smash like Marina did and kill the leak? That's basically the thing backing Team Real's legitimacy more than anything especially since we know both Eric Bricard and the company itself have been contacted by the community. Can anybody on Team Fake explain this discrepancy?

Seeing people say "Sakurai has done so much" means one thing to me. We genuinely don't deserve this man. He doesn't like making sequel after sequel yet he does it, he puts up with the abyssmal fans and he knows it's all his career will basically be that people care about. He's a talented as **** game designer and I was a bit disappointed he confirmed Ultimate was his next project cause he makes That Good ****: The Game

I'd be fine. Might be a bit disappointed (Muh puppet boy...), but the roster is already so fantastic. I'll just (personally) feel they would've REALLY dropped the ball saving those two for last. Not to say they don't belong in Smash all the same, just... I dunno, a safe echo pick and a newcomer to a series pretty much everyone assumed would get a newcomer would just feel... underwhelming.

But again, the roster is so good already, like holy crap. I'd rather go down with needlessly high expectations (while still being grounded in reality) than bank on those two.

Um, I don't think he particularly said that about the DK reps, if I recall correctly.

To clear up some misconceptions, he himself never believed that there would be no new DK Reps and failure to predict a character does not correlate into an incorrect prediction.
No leaker (sans the ESRB leak) has ever had access to the full roster.

Which is exactly my point. They shouldn't attack the messenger for telling them the truth (or at least what they were told by their sources). That is good to hear. Keep in mind though, that the base roster is not the end. We will have more than year of DLC to look forward, and unlike Smash 4, all additional characters will be newcomers. This is not Brawl and Melee, where we had to wait more than 4.5 years just for the next newcomer in the series. We will likely only have to wait months for the next character announcement.

Heya, just a quick small question I was sent to ask from a Discord group I belong to… does the saturation affect the crystal too? as in not being visible but clearly being there I mean, or what's your stance about the crystal.

The same filter I used in my experiment does not affect the crystals in a way that makes them look more similar to the leak.

I still think that's the same background though, but would that really make a difference?

You could argue the leak is fake or real no matter if the background changed or not.

If the background didn't change:

- #Teamreal: "He got the real background as an official asset and didn't have to invent anything to work on this authentic promotional material."

- #Teamfake: "We saw there was an image of the empty background before the leak, he just used that one to create the fake leak."


If the background changed:

-#Teamfake:"Since everything is false, he didn't have a real background to work with and he had to redraw the parts that were hidden behind characters."

- #Teamreal: "Why would he do that if there was actually an empty background he can use? A person that shows so much care for detail wouldn't miss the existence of an empty background image before he started working on the fake leak and he would have instead used that. The background showing changes that weren't seen before proves this is real and they changed it for design purposes."

In my opinion, since there was already an image of a clean background he could have used or not, the background doesn't matter any more.
