I believe that's just a video compiled of clips they have to promote the game and not necessarily the build they are utilizing.

So, from what I've gathered, all new evidence that has come forward has essentially slapped away every way people have had at attempting to debunk this, and their attempts in debunking this leak has only gathered more evidence for it being real?


This is way better than the ESRB leak. Heck, no one is saying the banner is just a photoshopped Grinch! 10/10 rating on this event in Smash history.

Nintendo accidentally leaked Ganondorf before Smash 4's launch iirc.
Also, Nintendo accidentally leaked Lucario, Jigglypuff, and Ness before Brawl's launch.

Both times, Nintendo quickly took the video down.

Was going to say the same, that would be three in a row.

While I don't think it would be necessary to confirm a connection to Isaac (an item is not the same as revealing a character) it would be interesting to see if Nintendo removes this video like they have in the past.

It's probably not actually in the demo, just a part of promo footage they were sent but they didn't see.

The left half is the Smash Ultimate item overlaid on top of the GS item; it's a comparison of some sort made by a fan. Here's the sprite from GS:

As you can see, the bubble, which is prominent in the Smash item, is not there at all in the Golden Sun item.

In other words, the item has no particular similarities to Golden Sun other than "being a generic two-leaved sprout." As far as I'm able to tell, anyway.

Yes, it very much could still be an original item.

That the item extrapolates (is that even the right word for it?) beyond the "3D" boundaries so it could look wonky in fully flat stages like SNES Mute City or Elektroplankton.

I'm sure someone can explain it better.

If it was a redesign, don't you think they'd update the site to reflect that?

An idea is that it has a slightly different design for flat stages.

It hasn't had a blog entry yet so they could bring it up there.

I don't think this is quite the case, but some food for thought.

At this rate it's probably going to take whatever info we from Nintendo themselves next to absolutely verify or disconfirm this leak, or for the creator (if it has one) to come forward to just disconfirm it.

I am looking forward to seeing if the experts here can pick out further evidence supporting or damaging it's credibility, but on the while, it looks like things have....been at a standstill for most of the day. Still are.

i could be wrong but my theory is that the bubble was added to make it stand out from the villager's down b. especially with 8 players it would be hard to tell at a quick glance the difference

It wasn't part of the demo footage.
It was part of some spliced in footage from a later version of the game.
Probably version 1.0.

I don't think that footage is from the tour. The demo didn't have the SNES F-Zero stage either. BUT, the current stream of new footage either from the commercial or from this might mean Smash has gone gold already

Well, we’re certainly incredibly lucky that something actually new and official surfaced this soon after the leak appeared. It could have been another two weeks of absolutely nothing.

It could also mean that's a new original item, a modified version of the Healing Field, or something else.

It has a arrow as if not picked up yet and the healing field doesn’t have the mini tree like symbol in the middle I checked many times on that E3 footage

And the symbol resembles growth from golden sun and it’s not villager tree move into a item

And ofcoarse Isaac is in the leak so is there any thoughts
