Yup... Oh, and ZugheEX , adminitstrator of ResetEra is now absolutely Team Fake on the ResetEra's Poll about that leak.

Tbh, I don't know what to think now, I was team "HMMMM" but when it's those two who come out it's something else.

Doesn't hurt to dream now right? I mean, with all of the crazy characters, Sora could very well be the last surprise my man.

At this point, the wave of insiders coming out against it can be seen one of two ways.

It's really fake, OR they're pissed/doing damage control for Nintendo

Seeing as papageno apparently has a source in Microsoft vouching for the leak, I'm willing to bet Incineroar was leak bait and the insiders are furiously scrambling to figure out what's going on to save their reputations.

This is the ideaology I'm taking behind my stance, but I'm saying team fake. I don't really care too much about any of the characters, and while I'd perfer 7 more than 3 more, I just don't see it happening. We'll see!

I will continue to believe that the final result is a combination of leaks and predict something like Ken, Incineroar, Geno final direct, with a Banjo & Kazooie dlc reveal at VGA (mostly due to papagenos source).

I think that's a decent stance to take.
If I had to take a route, I'd wager that this leak just isn't the full picture. So, similar to what you're saying.

He then pushed his stance on the leak saying that the burden of proof should be to prove it legit, not to prove it fake.

Almost nobody in the Smash community actually wants Steve. Especially me, because this is like the only game left that's mostly oriented towards Boomers.

I didn’t ask for Steve but I think he could make a really cool character with that Sakurai magic. Y’all just hating.

The two main things selling me on this are the situation and some miscellaneous factors on the full fighter panorama.

The situation itself is so complex and absurd that, as @xpnc put it, it's essentially nearly impossible for this whole thing to be a sham. The extent of detail, amount of work done, intense legal implications, and absolute absurdity of it is just too much for me to say 'Wow, that one guy had a lot of time on his hands.'

Second, the panorama has a few bits of genuine thought put into it that really feel like smart touches. All of the Miis being finally regrouped makes sense and looks much better than Gunner just off doing her own thing. Additionally, the positioning of Mach Rider, the oldest newcomer, right next to Inkling, the newest newcomer, puts a smile on my face, that this really is a game spanning all of Nintendo history. That, plus the honestly obscure decision to have Isaac using Growth, and for the Conductor to be alongside the Chorus Kids, feels more and more like true Sakurai attention to detail, rather than just INFINITY RESEARCH by one guy with some time to kill. Plus, Greninja and Roy (and a few others?) having more details shown than before.

At the end of the day, I can very easily concede that the empty panorama is sketchy, but otherwise I see nothing at all concrete pointing to this being fake. My true gut instinct is that this is real, and I will happily take that instinct to this leak's grave because it's just so damn good. I can't be mad if it's fake, it's so well done and creative if it is.

Don't forget Isaac with a Venus djinn. In the games it's implied he has a few he's buds with and Flint, the starter, is supposed his homie.

Sure, one could say Mach Rider and Chorus Kids would count as controversial choices, but they're well balanced out by everyone else, and disappointing unexpected final leaks are never balanced out by hype one

Real or not, it seems this characters have been picked as they were possibly all considered at one point. B&K, Mach Rider, Geno, Chorus Kids for 64, Melee, Brawl, and 4, respectively. Then Ken and Shadow are just the most obvious echo choices considering Sakurai's "you may have seen this coming" attitude for Dark Samus & Chrom.

Okay so basically everyone connected to ResetEra in some way (Jon, that Steve guy, now Serebii/Joe) are saying this is 100% fake.

You have papagenos ' source who he seems very confident in saying that Banjo is 100% and that the leak is most likely real.

And then you have others like SpawnWave who seem to doubt it but aren't outright deconfirming it, placing most of his doubt on Geno and Banjo.

And then you have Vergeben who hasn't commented in the longest time in regards to Smash.

Even the insiders are all over the place. This leak certainly has made waves, that's for sure.

If Serebii said "I think it's fake." then the burden of proof is on him to prove his claim.

Obviously, the people claiming it's real also have the burden of proof to prove it as well.

The burden of proof doesn't necessarily just fall on one side in an argument.

Once again, why do people have an hard time to understand the Point of View of an Insiders?
They CANT tell you EXACTLY or SHOW proof that it's fake because that would Break the relationship of trust that they have with their sources, that sometimes took years to build up.
Heck, most of them made comment, like the VG247 guy, Spawn-Wave and others saying that the problem is that Incineroar is not here at all or the lack of Pokémon rep is weird.
They can't talk more about others characters because those characters would probably break it and be easy to trace back to their sources. Heck, most of them probably got the autorization to talk about Incineroar from their sources after Vergeben's got his time to shine.

Like, legit, anyone who ever made some basic journalism knows what's up. It's not like there one people saying it's fake, it's literally every insiders with some Smash info, that are usually VERY trustworthy who says so-

Let's not diss them completely, and be comprehensive too- that's why team "Hmmm" is best bet.

I mean, I guess do it like what Brawl did with and (make them weird plot point characters), , and (secret characters) or (they're just there).

Thing is what sort of plot point could WFT be used for? It’s not like she’s gonna be cloned and used as enemies or something. And Ice Climbers worked because Meta Knight’s only option to take back the Halberd was to climb to the mountain’s peak, and the I.C.s just happened to climbing said mountain. I doubt the heroes will have to pass through the Wii Fit Studio in order to get to Bowser’s Castle or the Gangplank Galleon. I mean unless a big fight in a city or something has some heroes winding up in the Wii Fit Studio after being blasted through the wall, and WFT gets ticked off by the bad guys (I can’t really see WFT getting angry like that and deciding to fight because the studio wall broke.)
