It's the same level of pattern building and theorising that people gave the Box Theory and people who believe it crud for.

Ive got some real data, time and other facts to prove my argument. So tell me, how is it invalid that i say this leak is impossible?

If the leak is real, why did the leaker not take a clear picture of the poster? Why are the other pictures clear, but the actual leak itself is blurry, like every other fake leak? The one and only reason for it to be blurry is to cover up the fact that it's just a Photoshop job and would be obvious if we could see it in finer detail.

One theory I devised if this is real is that this mural is merely the final design with all the planned DLC fighters in mind. However, what is disconcerting is the lack of Incineroar. I can easily believe that the final two newcomers are Ken and Incineroar, and that the planned set of newcomers are Shadow, Banjo-Kazooie, Chorus Kids, Mach Rider, Geno, and Isaac. Six newcomers as DLC almost matches the amount of total characters we received as DLC for Smash 4.

I don't see why they'd begin printing promotional material for the full DLC roster already though, there's no reason for them to make preparations for content that comes out in over a year, and I see no way that they're going to announce the full post-release lineup in one fell swing, hype and speculation is more important than ever for DLC as it's content they have to convince you to buy.

I meant regarding the hardcore fans. The people who are sitting here and talking about the game every day. Not the people who are going to play the game for just a month and then never touch it again.

The majority of any game's playerbase is casual, and they're important. A game can sell millions, but less than a million will continue to play the game for a long period of time. That's why Street Fighter V flopped. It catered to a very narrow hardcore fanbase and had nothing for casual fans, while Mortal Kombat X catered to both and became the best selling fighting game ever.

But the casual fans aren't the ones who care about Ridley, King K. Rool, Dark Samus, Simon, Richter, and Chrom. Inkling is middling between hardcore and casual. Isabelle is the only fully casual pick.

I mean, did people jump and cheer for Wii Fit Trainer, Bowser Jr., Greninja, and Rosalina? Or did they mainly jump and cheer for Mega Man, Ryu, Cloud, and Bayonetta?

I cheered for both Wii Fit Trainer and Bayonetta...

Even though I'm totally fine with this leak being real, it feels WAAAAY too unrealistic to expect that many unique characters in a single Direct.

Oh well. At least it'll be fun watching Verge and box supporters freaking out if this doesn't get deconfirmed soon.

Let me make it clear; it's a Snapchat video recorded on a phone that wasn't meant to show off the Ultimate leak from what I understand.
It's because this leak wasn't intended.

It's not iron clad, but comparing it to box theory is incorrect. Box theory was reading into a pattern/lack of tenable media, albeit official media; this is analysis of actual media, albeit unofficial media.

Mmm, I suppose. There's definitely convincing stuff here, but there are statements from Sakurai that just don't line up with it.

Like, when do these 5 get revealed? Do they have their own trailers? Are there gonna be five trailers in a single Direct?

I'm still staying in the middle with this, with perhaps a slight lean on the fake side. This seems waaaay too ambitious for a game that's only been in development for 3 years. I know Sakurai reused assets, but even then, there are limits. We don't even know what the scope of Spirits and Games & More is yet. I just don't see how Sakurai would have the time to do everything.

I will play devil's advocate for team real though and say that using the Echos along with the uniques to claim this as being too much isn't probably the best argument. Echos, for all intents and purposes, are pretty much skins. Chrom is the only one with a noticeable change, but even then it's not even a new move, it's taken straight from Ike. Echos do not seem to require nearly as much dev time as uniques, so discounting those, we have 11 newcomers, which is considerably less than Wii U and still fits Sakurai's statement. Food for thought.

That is something that is noteworthy. Someone, I forget who, was asking for those in the know of French marketing if this was normal or unusual. It's very possible he works for an advertising agency with ties to Bandai Namco and still faked this.

The point isn't that Namco is definitely marketing Smash, only that the leaker's company has confirmed ties to a major video game company (which happens to have ties to Smash), and isn't just some mom and pop place. Most companies don't list every client on their site, anyway.

It appears that he took a video and sent it privately to someone else, who proceeded to take screenshots. That's the literal opposite of how it works.
People are innocent until proven guilty. Leaks are fake until proven real.
If you can't get past one roadblock, the whole case falls. If you accuse someone of murder but they have proof they couldn't be there at the time, they're innocent unless you can discredit the claim.
If the leak has one thing that shows it was faked, then you can't call it real until you can discredit that claim.

They're not gonna just remove shadows in the last banner, it has no reason to and is unprofessional.

You're not wrong. But there are still potential explanations for it.

You're also sticking to that one point among a literal page long checklist of evidence in favor of it. Stuff like this is ringing familiar of "The lines on the 3DS's CSS don't match up, this line is thicker than the others, there's too much space here, WAY too sloppy to ever get past Nintendo", etc.

This is seriously turning into ERSB 2.0.
