All I want from the new smash are better modes, I don't see we getting too many new characters this time around. If the Miis come back please make them better and make customs better.

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. Smash 4 was probably the best Smash game-play wise, at least for someone such as myself without much tech skill. That being said, the modes were abysmal. Perhaps even the worst in gaming. I would honestly rather have none of them and have the development time spent on the core game. That is how bad they were.

Being completely honest, I liked Smash Tour. Does it need more variety? Yes. But I like it in its current state, as bare-bones as it may be. Whenever I have my friend over we always play a round just for fun.

But a lot of the modes do need more expansion.

Literally one person did, and they got shut down in one post (it was a two or three post thread if I recall).

I would say Bayonetta was the most bold prediction. No one thought she would make it, and then she did, and as the ballot winner no less.

Probably Bayonetta imo... I remember telling someone Bayo was a dumb character from a niche franchise that doesn't have much of a future, who is also over sexualized and has absolutely no place in Smash... And now she haunts my every dream. I respect her position in the game now with the newfound relationship with Nintendo, but man. That reveal shook me to my core.

Robin because you were defying the Gematsu leak which everyone pretended was objective fact. Dark Pit and Dr. Mario because people refused to read Sakurai's thoughts on clone characters. Those were the predictions I was most proud of. Toon Link too, I guess, between Spirit Tracks and Sakurai asserting that the roster was too large, most people immediately went for clone characters.

The potentially bold ones, Wii Fit and Villager, were immediately confirmed. So that never really had a chance to be a thing.

I would love the classic mode to be closer to what it was in Melee or Brawl, or even in Smash 4 3DS, and an Adventure mode like the one in Melee, with stages for every franchise in the game. The latter could feature the branching choices from classic 3DS mode, where you could choose what stage to go next, maybe always starting in a Mario stage, and then choosing where to go, either a Yoshi stage or a Kid Icarus stage, for example.

A Custom Robo is my #1 complete pipe-dream character. I would master the crap out of that character regardless of how bad they were. Custom Robo was everything I wanted out of a game franchise. Fighting robots, limitless customization, and fast paced combat. I have really no hope for it happening, which is why I've been more vocally supporting Lyn, but if CR happens... My life will never be the same lmao

Oh wow... I forgot about the Gematsu leaks. I wanna just go through all of the leaks again and see people's reactions hahaha. Someone should go through the forums and make a video about it, basically making a 5 minute video recap of the Smashboards speculation board from 2013-2014 haha

I don't know about you lot, but I would love to see Rabbid Mario make the roster. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of my favorite Switch games, and packed to the gills with personality and charm. If they wanna make a moveset based entirely on that game, there are tons of weapons and skills that could be used as moveset potential.

Furthermore I'd like Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Peach, and Rabbid Yoshi as alts.

I don't know about the 3ds version but the Wii U version was the worst of the two. I stop playing classic mode because every fight was like an eight-player smash. Smash tour shouldn't have been made, it was just wasn't fun, If I want to play Mario party I just go play Mario party not this. Bomb blast was only fun for a while if you're playing with friends.

But it really fooled a good amount of people simply because it was a video leak. Artsy Omni outdid himself with it.

They were not just skeptical, people were pointing out plenty of inconsistencies. It is difficult to remember, but there were about half a dozen. Especially regarding the font.

I am not saying it was not a great leak. It was. But people were onto it within the first day and people always seem to recall it as though the entire community fell for it and it was infallible. It always bothered me for whatever reason.

It's hard for me to answer this question because I can't really imagine a scenario where anyone from 64 to Brawl would get cut, and those characters alone would be more than enough for me to purchase Smash Switch.

Well, I would certainly be upset if Lucas, Mewtwo and/or Greninja were cut.
But the only circumstance under which I definetly wouldn't buy the game because a character is absent is if it's a reboot.

Oh, man. I actually recently ran through the entire roster, to see who I genuinely have fun with, and the results were not great. I only need Donkey Kong, Fox, Jigglypuff, Link, Samus, Ness, Falco, Mewtwo, Peach, Cloud, Little Mac, and Rosalina. To be fair, I would have included Shiek and Zero-Suit, but their nerfs ruined them. And to that end, there are other characters that I used to enjoy, such as Ganondorf and Captain Falcon that I personally feel did not translate to Smash 4 all that well.

Those are just the characters I enjoy playing though. The ones I absolutely need are Link, Fox, and Samus. I would have put Mewtwo, but I bought both games without them. Same story with Spring Man, event though he sounds amazing, I would still buy the game without him.

So I think Smash for Switch should have a summoning item - like Assist Trophies and Pokemons - but dedicated entirely to Fire Emblem characters.

Obviously, FE Heroes would be the basis for this. Over the course of any match, Orbs would frequently appear in item matches. If you collect one it gets added to an orb counter on your HUD. Once you obtain 5, the Breidablik (Summoner's gun) appears in your hands, at which point you can fire it to summon 1 Hero.

However, if you choose to hold it longer, you can collect more Orbs to summon multiple Heroes in a row. Collect 4 more after the initial 5 to summon 2 Heroes, and finally 3 after that to summon 3 Heroes at once.

Here's some ideas of what characters would be summoned and what they'd do.

Caeda (Shadow Dragon): Flies around with her pegasus, aiming for a target and swooping in to slash them with her spear. Occasionally stops to throw volleys of javelins at enemies.

Alm (Gaiden/Echoes): Hits enemies with his sword and sometimes fires off several arrows from his bow. Will finish with his ultimate attack Scendscale before going home.

Arvis (Genealogy of the Holy War): Creates huge explosions next to himself, as well as pillars of fire that erupt from the ground underneath enemies.

Hector (Blazing Sword): Slowly moves towards foes and strikes them down with his axe. His attacks are incredibly lethal and create tremors that hit even far away foes.

Micaiah (Radiant Dawn): Casts pillars of light magic that rain from above, as well as horizontal beams.

Sothe (Radiant Dawn): Quickly rushes at foes, pinning them down with fast and repeated dagger strikes. Will sometimes throw his daggers at people.

Tiki (Awakening): Turns into a dragon, stomping on foes and firing magical breath at them until she returns home.

Lissa (Awakening): Casts healing spells when summoner is present, will cast Rescue when summoner is knocked off the stage, bringing them back to her, before disappearing.

Ryoma (Fates): Quickly cuts through enemies with his katana, hitting multiple times. Will sometimes cast series of lightning bolts with his sword.

Xander (Fates): Cuts enemies with his sword and tramples them with his horse. Sometimes throws out energy blasts from his sword.

And of course, Lyn would be moved to this spot as well. I think because Fire Emblem has so many characters, this could be a way to show them some love while also uniquely representing FE Heroes which has been a huge success for Nintendo.

They didn't exactly ask for Wii Fit Trainer, but they came pretty close.

If link is getting a rework for SSB5, i think it should be closer to his BOTW style.
Example:
His bombs are changed to look and act like his Bomb rune.
When he shoots arrows, random other types of arrows will be shot. Like He shoots a bomb arrow and then he gets ice arrows.
when the enters a stage, it could just be him teleporting to a shrine.
and other than that, just minor tweaks can be added, like his sword and shield changes based on the skin he has on.

• Upgrades from Moblin Club to weapons with better range and attack as Link lands hits. His previous weapon will shatter after accumulating enough whacks.

• Magnesis ability that can move an underground metal chest back and forth along the ground to pop opponents skyward. Chest explodes out of the earth and opens to reveal the best weapon BotW Link can have in battle. He must collect it in order for usage. Any BotW Link can collect it.

• Stamina wheel side B that allows Link to run extra fast, scale walls and glide.

• Lord of the Mountain mount that Link can fire arrows off while running along the field

• Down Smash that makes a campfire. Size of fire depends on charge. Creates updrafts that gliding Link can ride.

My bold predictions (screencap this just in case)
There will be no cuts
The ballot will have influence on the roster (As in, irrelevant yet requested characters like Isaac and K. Rool will be added)

If we get a new Codec/Palutena's Guidance-like easter egg, what would it be?
