(My main in Smash 4 and he’ll be in my top three mains along with Ridley and Wolf. I also loved the first film as a kid)(My main in Smash 64 alongside Yoshi)(I just really, really like dragons)(Enjoyed him in Brawl and Smash 4)/(Unique movesets but never played them as much)(I have a big soft spot for gen 2 Pokemon but that’s it. Bonus points for cuteness)(Played him a bit but his play style just didn’t fit me)(I just found Jiggs to be very uninteresting but that’s just me. Even so, I hope she gets buffed in Ultimate)

Pokemon Trainer needed to return in some form. While I prefer characters having their own separate identity, the whole "switching out Pokemon" gimmick is so spot-on in terms of representing the Pokemon series that I'm willing to overlook it.

I scrapped Ayumi and Lip because of the same rule that forced Takamaru into being an AT (that is to say, literally no presence outside of Japan). : Never liked the Ice Climbers and I always found Game & Watch interesting due to how purposefully out of place he is.: Dr. Mario is literally Mario in a doctor attire. Young Link is saved by the fact that because he still has Link's old moveset, he has something to call his own and he is his own character.: Much cooler then Falco, though I do like Falco.: I find Lucario more iconic and recognizable then Greninja, though I do like Greninja.: I hate Lucina while Chrom is my favorite character in Awakening. Easy pickings. Much better choice for an Avatar-like character.: More beloved character in the Mario series, though Jr. has been around longer.: Sorry, Cloud. Snake is one of my favorite video game characters of all time. that obviously is intended to say big but whatever dude. you dont understand that Nintendo a would want to release a dlc character as promotion in smash? what about that is hard to understand? and yes DLC decisions are being made right now. maybe not all but the early ones are. The base game is basically done at this point.We don't know if it's possible to have some promotion as DLC from upcoming games like, new fighters, new stages, and new musics.
As right now, Sakurai isn't thinking about DLC (he is prob now, seeing that game was near done and would be ready to release in December 7 so that means we should expect DLC new soon)

I grouped them by series, so characters from the same series have close numbers (not intentional, only because so it's easier to write and read).

69 - Meowth (Team Rocket assist trophy)
70 - Incineroar
71 - Meloetta (I always thought it would be interesting because of the 2 forms, also more not-gen1 pokèmon)
Yoshi:
72 - Baby Bros. (Duo character like the Ice Climbers; Kamek is an assist trophy)
Wario:
73 - Jimmy T.
74 - Mona Pizza (slighty based on Wario, especially the scooter)
75 - Cpt Syrup (from Warioland instead of Wario Ware)
Mario:
76 - Geno (Mario RPG)
77 - Prof. E.Gadd (fights with gimmicks)
78 - Toad (Moveset based on the NSMB titles and on Captain Toad; uses those special blocks like the propeller block and the cannon block; Toadette alt; becomes Captain Toad during the final smash and calls the Toad Brigade, not sure what they would do though)
