Isabelle's a good newcomer. But she had a lackluster trailer. Am I the only one who sees it this way?

Speaking as someone who used to be against King K Rool getting in, I was swayed heavily with how awesome his trailer was. I already liked Isabelle, but I can see how some people wouldn't be too impressed given this trailer. It's kind of more on par with the non-Richter echoes trailers.

Snake makes sense though. Hideo and Sakurai are good friends who begged him to add Snake in Melee but couldn't due to being too late in development and so added him in Brawl instead.

AMA if you're curious, most of it is pretty "safe" from what most speculators go by.

If anyone's wondering if Ken could be a semi-clone, yeah. Of course he can. He and Ryu are pretty different from one another as the games went on. No different from Smash with Mario and Luigi.

- Change his Forward Smash, as Ken never had the Donkey Kick himself.
- Shoryuken is Multi-hit with Fire.
- Remove the Fire Hadouken and replace it with Krazy Kicks if need be. Though Ken finally got his own Fire Hadoukens in SFV.
- Tatsumaki is also Multi-hit. May or may not need fire effect.
- Focus attack changed to a big Roundhouse Kick, since that's what he had in SF4.
- Make his air Hadouken shot off from a diagonal down direction, like in the Marvel vs Capcom series/X-Men vs Street Fighter.
- Replace the Solar Plexus Punch with one of Ken's command kicks.
- Shinryuken as his Final Smash.

Wait... when did Verg talk about Lara Croft?

Verg hinted at a 2nd Square character. A 2nd Square character, which Lara falls under, and she's a huge gaming icon.

I tell you the Smash community can be pretty toxic. That's probably a minority though.

There's literally no hint of toxicity in the dude's description tho. Probably just drew it for a joke.

He wasn't kicked out of the server. He left on his own accord after being questioned by everyone. And yes, he's a fake. He clearly lied to all of us and the mods on that discord. Then he proceed to change his name on twitter from Loz183 to Leyenda (Spanish for Legend) because he knew he was trolling us there. After that he deleted his Twitter


I wanna make things clear. I was a clear advocate for Loz but we were all played on that discord. Aside from E3, Loz was a farce.

If you are going to believe anyone about Smash newcomers, its Vergeben. So far:

- Ken (likely echo fighter)
- Incineroar or another pokemon rep
- SE rep (Chrono, Geno, DQ rep, whatever)
- Microsoft representation (Minecraft presence, possible Banjo representation due to Microsoft playing ball)

And no, this means nothing negative for Skull Kid or Isaac. So I definitely implore fans to stay positive for their respective characters, regardless of Loz's actions on that discord.

Thanks for clarifying. One of the mods there said he wasn't welcome anymore, so i assumed he was banned. Vergeben is still the guy to look out for. I'm still not confident in Skill Kid either way, but that's just me.

It looks like a really slow command grab special to me. I don't fully understand the move other than that it looks bad; I'm hoping there's some useful layer to it that they just did a really poor job of conveying in the direct.

Like armor? I'd laugh if that was the case!!!

One of it's special properties is that it freezes Ganondorf in place for a free hit.

So isabelle still leaves the door open for Semi-clones.

She has Villager's B, a new Side-B, a similar Up- B to villager (it may function similarly), and Down B that starts similar to Villager. She has the same grab too. BUT i think all of her normal attacks are new, at least with different items. All of her smash attacks are new i think.

She's basically Luigi for Villager

i wouldn't expect all of them next year, but the year is looking great.

No one is addressing the important news here. Nintendo has confirmed in the Direct that if you don't buy a subscription to Nintendo Switch™ Online, they will literally send Thwomp to your location in real time and have him ****ing destroy your $300 system and all your save data with it.

Now we've had the dastardly K. Rool, who steals the Kongs food supply, kidnaps them, and tries to blow them up. We've had the cunning Ridley, who tortures and murders people for the sheer fun of it. Weve had the vile Dark Samus, who will stop at nothing to destroy Samus.

But, none of those villains compare to unholy Thwomp, who destroys your videogames and your Zelda save file with 200+ hours. Nintendo is clearly trying to build up to something here. And with the Heroes and Villains theme, I can safely say that Thwomp will be the last fighter, and the final boss of Spirits mode. If you can't beat him, he'll delete your save data too. Watch out. It's happening.

And melee clones aren't echoes, Pichu damaged himself, Ganaondorf is different, Luigi too.
