I just don't see it possible that all of a sudden they go like: 'HEY!! Remember that one Direct? Yeahhh.. It's tomorrow now! :D' Just have a hard time believing that.

Why?

I don't understand the logic. The direct was originally announced a day-ish before the direct was meant to air, and it was at 9:59AM EST last week that it was announced for 6PM last Thursday.
Thursday would seem like a likely day because it is exactly a week.

And even then, because this is a special case that's never happened before, they could do a whole range of weird things nobody would really expect.
It makes less sense to me to deny the possibility of one of the more likely things... haha.

They did yesterday. Reported on a rumor of one tomorrow, so annoucnement today.

That's how they always announce general directs. It's really nothing new...

Are people on here not regular Nintendo fans and only follow Nintendo when Smash is coming out? I totally respect that, I'm just asking because I feel like a lot of people don't know how Nintendo has been operating in the past two years.

I just saw that the Japanese magazine that said something about exciting news on 9/13 clarified that it wasn't the rescheduled Nintendo direct.

So that makes sense why it isn't tonight. Most definitely tomorrow.

I'm unsure as to why she isn't considered a likely echo. From what I remember, she was very popular during the ballot. Considering dark samus and Chrom made it in due to popularity, I can't see Impa being left out.

I honestly can't believe how overlooked Impa has been in regards to echoes.


To me, she's just the most logical echo there is, but a lot of people just seem to stop at Ken, Shadow, Isabelle and Dixie.

Impa should be a part of that group




And Make Skull Kid and Bandana Dee playable while you're at it.

Skull Kid's popularity for Smash just shot up because of that one "leak". And Bandana Dee is not really anything special, even in the Kirby games.

I wouldn’t object if she was a cloud echo.

I feel her giant sword from hyrule warriors would fit just perfectly with clouds moves. I don’t really wanna see her be just a sheik echo.

Even though Sonic appears on all systems, he feels like a Nintendo character now. Maybe its because he has more exclusives on Nintendo (though even that may be false), but he just feels Nintendo, so even though he is 3rd Party, it feels kinda weird to consider him as such.

No you’re completely right about the exclusives thing (there’s been way more Sonic games on Nintendo than on other platforms...maybe even near, equal to or passed the amount of games Sonic has had on his own *dead* game systems

In my mind Banjo and Sonic barely qualify as third parties. Like I know technically they are, but they feel like Nintendo characters in spirit.

Well Banjo is Microsoft owned, so he definitely wouldn’t be a 3rd Party anymore, but hell yeah to Sonic though

I mean, he is, it's just that the Smash fanbase lets a lot of logical picks pass them by because we get ourselves way too occupied with baseless rules. The whole "Triforce wielders-only" argument would fit well in the same bin as "too big" and "relevant characters only".

You are definitely not alone. Even if I have no interest of him being a fighter in Smash, he was a very interesting character in Majora's Mask and would bring some nice variety to Legend of Zelda cast.

But I can't understand the logic behind his theoretical inclusion.

7. (She's here. She could be pretty fun, but never been a fan of playing Samus in general.)
8. (As said, Simon looks cool, and I will probobly like him better than Simon, but honestly, I learned about Richter about a year ago, but I knew Simon from years ago, therefore he appeals to me at the moment a bit more.)
