How is the question about how you want your favorite characters to be tiered even a question? I want any character I play to be as overpowered as possible. Complaining that someone else's character is too good is scrub talk anyway, and any prospective opponent who would do such a thing is just defeating themselves before I even have to play so getting grief about how strong my character is is in reality just another advantage. I welcome all salty tears directed as my character choices; they fill my heart with joy and in sufficient quantities in a tournament setting they can fill my bank account too.

Any answer that isn't effectively that is just wrong.

...well, i won't lie! i've made one before, about a character render; i wanted to see if i could. i don't think anyone took it seriously, except for that guy on 4chan who cursed at me for playing with their emotions. italics is a hint on who i made it for!

some people who make leaks, even as obvious jokes, could just be trying to lighten up the situation, is all i'm saying. i doubt a whole lot of them are doing it to make a point, and are just doing it for giggles. then again, i could be in the wrong by making a fake leak (and if i was wrong in doing that about a week ago, i'm super sorry)!

Speaking only for myself, I don't mind fake leaks, even the really crappily made ones, since at least it gives us something to talk about during the long dry spells. I'm usually very not OK with purposely deceiving people for less than benevolent reasons, but for just a video game I don't really mind since it's not really hurting anyone. Of course that's only my opinion. I know some people get really angry over this but I think they're just overly invested in the game, lol.

All I care about is how fun the character will be to play as. Tiers shouldn't be the all ending factor that decides who you want to use.

Now I want there to be a 1/10 chance of summoning Mario's floating head from Mario Teaches Typing instead of the Moon. He'll say, "Nice computer you have there. Can I have it?" before crashing onto the stage and obliterating everything.

I know it'll never happen, but that would hands-down be the funniest thing to ever get in Smash.

I'm sure there are people who'd want their character to be as low tier as possible so they'd be the only ones playing it, thus creating what they'd perceive as a special bond meant to fill the enormous void in their lonely hearts.

The void in my lonely heart isn't that enormous...

(I like it if my characters are just under average tier because it makes my victories feel earned and prevents "no fair!"s from people)

(I'm contemplating to switch on Space Jam-version, but that infamously jamming theme from what is considered crudest of bootleggy games trying to pass off as official, fits really well.)

I won some opening exchange and knocked him upward and then proceeded to up smash him over and over again, never letting him down. In a 2 stock game I JV 3 stocked him; he lost everything without hitting me once. It was wonderful, and only my top tier main with her beautiful f8 usmash that is upper body invincible let it happen. No way does Pichu ever bring that kind of joy except perhaps to his opponent!

I know people who hate bayo as a character simply for how they are in Smash. I would rather people not spout hate at Chibi and hopefully just see him and want to play the game he's from

In my experience, the best way to enter a forum is with a game, so here we go, (yes, I'm stealing from the would you rather thread, but I really liked this one and haven't seen it used here yet) if your most wanted gets in, would you rather have them be so overpowered, you get crap for using it, or so low-tier they aren't even a charecter.

Absolutely. Treating a natural disaster like its the chairs in the background of the Smash direct is so incredibly disrespectful.
No matter who the newcomer is, and no matter what happens in their trailer, the direct would have been delayed either way. They're doing it out of respect.

On the topic of tiers, mid-high tier seems like the sweetspot for me and it's where I really hope Pokemon Trainer places. It feels good having a character who's fairly good but still feels honest. It's part of why I mained Pit and Dark Pit for a while.

Anyway Smash isn't all about winning to me, so having a completely broken character simply doesn't appeal to me that much. Although I'll admit having an awful character isn't really that fun either.

Using Bayonetta is a good call. While I'm primarily competitive, I do enjoy some of the flavor side too; I think Bayonetta as a character would really enjoy a bunch of guys complaining about how overpowered she is and would totally laugh at them before completely destroying them. See, the lore checks out!
