Aeon Hero
2 examples come to mind but one is a localization issue:Being the anime is severely notable more than any other official animation among any series in Smash, what's the issue here? Pokemon is popular because of both the anime and games. Many only learned of it via the anime. It makes a ton of sense.
Smash was never about canon, and it has nothing to do with the Pokemon examples. It's a non-canon crossover itself meant to be interesting. Now them stating glaringly untrue things in Trophies(and again, the Pokemon examples don't count in either case since the Anime is severely well known and it makes sense to reference them here and there, especially since Sakurai considers the anime his gateway into figuring out good character choices, though not for all, but for multiple ones), and that's a bigger issue in itself. Though sometimes that's a localization factor, like the whole relationship between King K. Rool and Kaptian K. Rool. They're the same person in one region, and family in another. Though at least they didn't have to deal with the Eggman/Robotnik issue. I'm trying to think of some blatantly false facts they've had, though. Whether it's incorrect release dates for the games, something that isn't a localization problem(which means it's not false entirely, just something that was arguably done wrong for the localization. It's arguable, to be clear, because some people might like the changes in the other region more than the original version).
1. The Black Knight trophy from Brawl "One of Daein's Four Riders and wielder of the blessed sword Ettard. Once an apprentice to Ike's father, Greil, the two eventually duel, resulting in Greil's defeat. Thought to be dead after losing to Ike and the blessed sword Ragnell, the Black Knight survives and comes to the aid of Micaiah, the leader of the Dawn Brigade, a band of Daein freedom fighters." His sword is called the Ettard in Japan while outside (or at least in the NTSC version), it's called Alondite. To make matters even more confusing, Ike got a unique sword in Radiant Dawn that the NTSC version calls Ettard and the Japanese version calls Alondite. And the 2 swords aren't related at all.
2. The Sothe trophy, also from Brawl "A skilled swordsman, thief, and member of the Dawn Brigade, a band of freedom fighters operating out of the old Daein capital, Nevassa. Although not related to Micaiah, the light-magic-dealing leader of the Dawn Brigade, he was raised like a brother and considers her safety his top priority. He grows from boy to young man between "Path of Radiance" and "Radiant Dawn."" Sothe does not use swords at all. Not in PoR, not in RD and there's no mention of him having any knowledge on how to use a sword. He uses daggers and knives in combat instead. That being said, in most FE games, thieves and rogues do use swords since most FE games don't even bother to have knives.
And the only reason I remember those 2 specifically is because they're about my favourite game
