Why do people want emo Gardevoir in Smash rather than Incineroar or Decidueye?

I have friends in the lolita fashion community who genuinely have Gothitelle as their favorite Pokémon. Although they aren't huge Nintendo gamers, I'm sure the inclusion of Gothitelle would attract them to Super Smash Bros. In fact, the simple inclusion of trophies of Style Savvy characters attracted another friend to the series. People begin playing Super Smash Bros. through the inclusion of many characters and games, and people equally discover new games/characters through Super Smash Bros. I can understand why people would like oddball picks, even if I don't prefer them myself.

Besides, we all know which Pokémon truly deserves a fighting role in Super Smash Bros. Special.

It's funny. I only started seeing people say this after his AT reveal.

Like, this dude's been requested since the Brawl days. I don't understand why that suddenly became a talking point.

That's because before people would be jumped for saying it so they shut up about it. Now that he is an assist people have an easier time saying it.
Like, and don't take this as an attack, but I for example think assist trophy is the perfect spot for Midna and Waluigi. But I don't post that often because the fans doesn't like that.

Whenever you complete the unlock requirements for a character, there’s a 50% chance you get Zubat instead, even if its already unlocked.

The most likely event was simply that Sakurai wanted Simon. I doubt it was an actula "oh I CAN'T put Bomberman so I'll go with the next thing"

I just want to take a moment and say that whoever came up with the term echo fighter was a genius. People used to always hate on clones so much but once they slapped that echo fighter title on them suddenly everyone is like "MORE ECHOES!"

Well of course. It's the only reason why a character like Daisy made it in in the first place.

I dunno if this is sarcasm or you are being serious but this what I fear about shadow being an echo of sonic , I wonder if Sega is going to accept that instead of wanting him to be a brand new comer.

I am waiting for a regional form of Farfetch'D that is not domesticated and is a BEAST in fights- OU tier from the start, if not flat out banned.

He was actually one of my favorite Pokemon (top 2) in the days of the 151.

Frogger, Layton, Heihachi, Sora, Ryu Hayabasa and Leon Kennedy are the only third parties we need to make the line-up complete IMO.

Yes... but at least Daisy actually is popular and was requested for 10+ years. I think she helped soften the blow on the new term "Echo Fighters".

Also, look at the other Echo Fighters we actually have. They are popular characters who were either requested for years or popular within their franchise fanbase . Hilda is neither.

It's sort of weird to see people use "rounding up representation" as a reason for character inclusion. As that is exactly why Black Shadow needs to be in as an F-zero rep, but still a lot people are against him just because the franchise isn't active anymore. It's the ultimate Smash, I'm not even a F-zero fan, and I still think he deserves a spot.

That's what I love about Okami, no matter what gaming generation we're in, Okami always finds a way to come back, and we don't have an
art based, and or weapon stance fighter in Smash so why not Ammy?

I was totally on board with the Gardevoir/Gothitelle leak, because I would love to play as Gothitelle. Plus, every Smash game has had two new roster slots for Pokémon (if you count Charizard as new since it's not Pkmn Trainer). I could totally see them adding Gardevoir with Gothitelle Echo for one slot and adding Inceneroar as the other new Pokémon character slot. It may be an unpopular opinion but I'd pick Gothitelle over Gardevoir any day.

Welcome to SmashBoards, where you don't play as characters, you play as this character that represents this minor aspect of Nintendo, and you hope that a new representative of another minor aspect of Nintendo gets in.

Yes. Impa is the very first Echo of which I thought when the term came into the masses.

Eh... I mean... there's the reality to this (where iconic characters that got voted on so heavily that Nintendo is at its ears to listen), and then there is jumping on wanting your favorite character and justifying without merit.... and "rounding up reps" isnt a reason, in my eyes. It is much more important to represent the series from which they come accurately. In the cases of Metroid Donkey Kong, this just was not possible without Ridley and King K. Rool.
If we are "rounding up representation," then I will conversely say, we need to "sharpen" the roster, and tone down on that Fire Emblem nonsense.

I love the fact some people think that they haven't revealed Mute City yet because they keep it for the reveal of Black Shadow as an echo of Captain Falcon, seriously I want to believe that it would be so cool for f-zero fans to see they get all stages remade + a new character. Smash 4 was really a joke for f-zero fans.
