Don't Simon and Richter share a stage?I think you're missing the fact that every other 3rd Party character has their own stage and Sakurai isn't going to get lazy over this.

Okay so then who is the other "Square Rep"? Because if Geno is just a Mario rep then obviously they don't need to be jumping through hoops for Geno, huh?He would count as a Mario rep.
There's a lot of Mario stages.
Richter is an echo, Sakurai has specified echoes count differently than other reps.Don't Simon and Richter share a stage?
It's not over yet, Shulk this one out:Wow, you just 1up'd my joke. Well done.
Though I'd say the Stained Glass stage from the beginning is not only iconic, but also almost too perfect for SmashI don't see a world in which Sora gets in and his stage isn't Destiny Islands, Hollow Bastion, or maybe Twilight Town. Even if Disney Castle was on the table, the other locations are more iconic to KH.
Yes, they do need to jump through hoops.Okay so then who is the other "Square Rep"? Because if Geno is just a Mario rep then obviously they don't need to be jumping through hoops for Geno, huh?
They're echoes, Sakurai has specified echoes count differently than other reps.
Geno is both. Doesn't mean a stage is needed when there's a ton of stages that can work fine. Because he's still a Mario character at the end of the day. Being owned by Square-Enix won't change that.Okay so then who is the other "Square Rep"? Because if Geno is just a Mario rep then obviously they don't need to be jumping through hoops for Geno, huh?
Yeah but they're the same franchise and share the same game setting. Richter hardly counts as an entirely different entity from Simon.Don't Simon and Richter share a stage?
...Like Geno to Mario.Yeah but they're the same franchise and share the same game setting.
Oh, I didn't realize we were arguing this....Like Geno to Mario.
When he can finally pay off the mortgage and settle the court case with his minions for poor working conditions.Oh, I didn't realize we were arguing this.
Yeah, Geno doesn't need a stage. He's a 3rd party character but he's still from a Mario game.
Now on the other hand, when is Bowser going to get his Goddang lava castle.
Bowser and K. Rool have so much in common. They need to have a cross-over.When he can finally pay off the mortgage and settle the court case with his minions for poor working conditions.
When space dragons fly.Oh, I didn't realize we were arguing this.

Well, they did. Now he’s in Smash and only has a few flaps in him these days. When space dragons fly.
...Wait.
Funny you should mention Capcom cause similar to Geno, They seemingly own all the characters from the Zelda games they made.I think the easiest way to answer this would be like this:
If Nintendo had Capcom make the next Paper Mario, and Capcom created say "Antonio, the greatest Partner" as a character, even though he's a Mario character, Capcom would own the rights to him most likely.
That's actually exactly what happened with Capcom and Street Fighter EX.I think the easiest way to answer this would be like this:

I was actually surprised to see the SF database not just acknowledge them but also giving them new art. That's actually exactly what happened with Capcom and Street Fighter EX.
It had both SF and original characters, but once the series was done, the other company just took their OCs and made their own fighting game, Fighting Layer EX, made of just their own OCs.
Depends on the contract. Hyperdimension Neptunia has a thing for creating personifications of game companies. The very First game had Nisa, Gust Red and 5PB. Each of those characters are owned by their respective companies. After MKII these characters rarely show up due to the licensing involved, Especially Nisa because of some strife between the companies (Pretty sure a lot of NIS employees left for Idea Factory at some point) now when Idea Factory makes new personifications, they keep the rights, allowing them to keep using the characters without having to try and get them back.I think the easiest way to answer this would be like this:

Wasn't Vaati used in Four Swords Adventures and later brought back in Four Swords Anniversary Edition (Which while originally made by Capcom was later codeveloped by Grezzo)Funny you should mention Capcom cause similar to Geno, They seemingly own all the characters from the Zelda games they made.
There's a reason we don't see Vaati or the Minish anywhere these days. As well as the games just being ignored in general, to the point Hyrule Warriors pretty much just skipped them even after all the DLC and season passes.
I live in Tokyo, near Bandai Namco Entertainment. We're getting through this just fine. I was out in Kyoto after another major typhoon. The game development world keeps on turning. As an aside, although Nintendo HQ is based in Kyoto, no other major studio is headquartered there, as far as I know. From Game Freak to Square Enix, they're all mostly based here in Tokyo, along with people such as Junichi Masuda, the director of Game Freak, and Masahiro Sakurai. To be real for a second, I know we're all excited to see any Nintendo Directs come out, but I'm a bit worried about all the production studios and even Nintendo HQ, since Japan is going through it's biggest typhoon since 25 years ago. It's hitting Kyoto, practically most of the island. Do you think the typhoon will affect any of our favorite game developers? Hoping everyone from the likes of Kondo to Sakurai are safe over there. Sucks that Japan practically fights nature every other week. :/
Thank Christ. All I see on Japanese Twitter are either electricity boxes explode, people escaping death and Lawson boxes moving on their own. Insane how people still keep doing the daily during this time, but really what I'm happy for is if their safe and fine. Worked with a few Japanese friends on various collaborations and I'm hoping for the best over there.I live in Tokyo, near Bandai Namco Entertainment. We're getting through this just fine. I’m in northern Gunma (2 hours north of Tokyo on the northern slopes of Mt Moon (Mt Akagi) and we are getting very, very windy. Not here yet but it’s on it’s way and we will probably get the outer arms of it. Supposed to be here within the hour. I heard Tokyo won’t get too much with mostly high wave warnings but please stay safe!I live in Tokyo, near Bandai Namco Entertainment. We're getting through this just fine. Hope things work out okay for you, Venus.I’m in northern Gunma (2 hours north of Tokyo on the northern slopes of Mt Moon (Mt Akagi) and we are getting very, very windy. Students went home after lunch and teachers left st around 4:30 but lucikly I live very close to my school so that’s a plus. But yeah, it’s raining heavily and very windy. I just secured my outside stuff so it doesn’t go flying into someone’s window like last time when a cabbage from one of the farms cracked our window. Gonna be a noisy night.

I think Vaati is more a K.Rool situation rather than Geno. Nintendo owns the rights to him, they just can't be bothered to use him these days. (Which is kinda sad as a Minish Cap fan myself...)
Is Leaky Pandy more than one person or are they using the "Royal We"So this leaker LeakyPanda is saying Skull Kid is a boss.
There was a problem fetching the tweet
I don't think guy is the most reliable leaker but when you think about it it actually makes sense, the Moon assist is probably a move from the Skull Kid boss. Looks like Skull Kid might be the new Ridley.
This guy's track record is worse than Loz18 and Verg's non-Smash leaks combined. So this leaker LeakyPanda is saying Skull Kid is a boss.

Below was posted in the Skull Kid thread, thought it was interesting. This guy's track record is worse than Loz18 and Verg's non-Smash leaks combined.
Take what he says with a heart-attack sized grain of salt.
Yeah but didn't this guy only get a date of a direct right? He's had many chances to prove himself so I don't know why i'd start believing him now.
Related, but I'm assuming you guys are aware of who this guy is

being a boss and a playable character at the same time is weird, but eh maybe.
also lived around Mt Pyre as well for 6 years.Hope things work out okay for you, Venus.
Also, if you live in Gunma, that means you (technically) live in Pewter City! Tha's pretty neat.
Yeah I think the villains/antiheroes will be bosses in Sprits mode kind of like Bowser in SubspaceBelow was posted in the Skull Kid thread, thought it was interesting.
