well definitely dont group them as one leak even though i know that became a thing as they were collaborating and backing up each others claims for a bit there... i tend to group them that way too but loz18 has been much more erratic than vergeben, especially lately.

i still think they have real info though so skullkid from loz18 and isabelle from verge seem super likely. loz18 on isaac im not so sure but i still think isaac has a high chance its just loz18 seems to speculate about characters and it gets mixed with his leaks and he tends to hide and take down posts, hes very hard to follow.

I agree on the notion that everyone shouldn't be springing for the "Hey, if this doesn't make it into the base game, it can always be DLC!" philosophy. The base game is already Space jam-packed with content to the point where I seriously doubt Sakurai would want to work even more than he already is towards initial release only to immediately start back up again, unless it's for more Echo Fighters and not much else. People should really be counting their blessings more often. And God help us if the character/stage select gets even bigger.

No DLC would be a bummer though.

No Rex/Pyra, no Spring Man, no Sora, maybe even no for stuff like AW or something, this is Ultimate so I can see Sakurai just selecting characters from a bunch eras even for DLC to represent Nintendo as much as possible without limiting himself to just “1st Party Switch characters only” or “3rd Parties” arbitrary rules, gimme Andy down the line or something.

To be fair, that's more of a reading comprehension issue I find...
At least after the first few bits of "confusing" information, he started to put disclaimers on things because people couldn't stop conflating his personal opinions and his leaks.
Like that one time he said he didn't believe incineroar- That was just a personal opinion and it ended up making people think he didn't think DK wasn't going to get another rep. Which, ironically, was the right stance to take even though he didn't actually take it.

After that it was pretty much labeled as just his opinion whenever he said stuff like that and people kept insisting they were leaks anyway

As far as characters that are already deconfirmed, I'm fine with not asking those for DLC. No Toad, Shovel Knight or Pauline? They can wait until next time, I'll live through that. It's who isn't around in some capacity that needs focus.

However, as much as it would be good for Sakurai to have a good, long, rest once the base game is out, he is willing to do more Smash content as long as the demand is there (and lord knows it is), so I imagine that some DLC seasons would be his way to send a parting gift to the players until the next console generation. If he doesn't do that, would he and his team just send out balancing patches?

In the meantime, I will be happy if the base roster can fulfill as much of my wishes as humanly possible (K. Rool being one of them).

Regardin loz18 he had some real leaks... he leaked that there would be e3 props of smash bors on e3 months before e3 (although the only info you could get of that particular leak is that neither bayonetta nor shulk were cut) and he said that we would get a direct in mid august (albeit was in early august, but yeah...)

but now it feels like his sources won't be giving him more info, and he is just speculating, like all of us.

true, im not really blaming the guy just saying his stuff has been much more erratic than vergebens posts.

also the thing where he made his account hard to follow his posts on gameFAQs, he didnt have to do that but its lead to a lot of people just hearing he said something and then people not being able to source it and SEE if he said it as a leak or as speculation etc... obviously its his right to set up his account anyway he wants but still it makes him the tougher of the two to get the facts straight.

Alright boys and girls, you know what time is it, is "Calendar of Fighter of the day" day!.... that's an awful title, I know, silence and take a look:

This last week had 3 "fighter of the day" and I think I can confirm, after two months, that the average IS 3 for week, just look July, it had 2 weeks with 4 and what did they do to fix it? they had 2 weeks of only 2, and when that happen they go back to 3 for week.
Now let's count how many are left if this continues:
There are right now 67 characters + 6 echoes - 4 of pokemon trainer and miis since they share days = 69 characters.
78 - 69 = 9 characters left

Well to be fair, it's kinda bittersweet to have characters leaked. Its a relief that the character you want is there, but it also kinda cheapens the reveal, at least for me. Those who wanted Simon were of course excited, but imagine how much more excited they would be if they didn't know he was coming.

I myself wouldn't want Amaterasu leaked, cause that would be the worst possible thing to happen to me Smash Bros wise, yep I would really hope that doesn't happen.
