Don't forget that Oil Drums have appeared in Donkey Kong (the arcade game), Donkey Kong (the Gameboy game) and Donkey Kong Country.

They aren't as well known as DK's barrels, but Oil Drums have been a part of DK since it's inception.

Personally iv'e learned to love Incineroar as a separate Pokemon, rather than part of Litten's line.
And while Decidueye or Lycanroc would be a little more interesting, and i'd be fine with their inclusion, I am 100% biased because Incineroar was my Alola starter and I want to play as it.

I like it too, but Incineroar definitely isn’t someone who I’m rooting for.

Although I find it as one of the more likely ones head to head with Lycanroc when I did an analysis for the possible Gen 7 Pokémon newcomer, and I was right on Mimikyu being a pokeball. Hopefully I get what I want.

I sorta foresee an interesting reversal from Smash 4.

Fan favorite, longterm characters were neglected over newer ones who had big games recently during the design document.

Now those fan favorites are being put in over characters that would have been relevant to the design document.

If Elma, or Isabelle, or a RH character misses out, will the narrative be that Smash Ultimate neglected the new stuff too much and only focused on the old?

Well, if they don't get deconfirmed and still aren't in, then I say DLC will give them another chance.

Isabelle is a very popular character. She has become an unofficial mascot of Animal Crossing in recent years.

I'll go out and say she is the official mascot.

Go to the official Animal Crossing website, who shows up?
Go to the official Animal Crossing Twitter account, who shows up?
Go look at the spin-off games. Who shows up on the app on Pocket camp? Who shows up twice on the boxart for Happy home designer? Who got to be the front a center character on Amiibo festival?
Go to the Animal Crossing Amiibo page, guess who shows up 2 times as a physical amiibo and 4 times as a card amiibo?
Go look at what Nintendo presents to it's own investors in their IR presentations in 2015 to show off their most valued IPs. Who shows up repeatedly among the likes of Super Mario and Zelda?

Anybody who says Isabelle isn't important is simply not paying attention.

Wooden barrels yes. Last I heard it was a wooden barrel in the picture, and so if instead it's an oil drum...how is an oil drum "Clearly Donkey Kong" themed?

I think that's my issue with this direct background theory...it's definitely not "Clearly Donkey Kong". That would have bannanas and vines, etc. Is it not a typical office, sure, but it doesn't even feel jungle themed to me, let alone Donkey Kong. #asking a gay about interior design

(Another reason it's reaching...no one after seeing that direct went "OMG he's in a Donkey Kong themed room!" Again this is why, even though I hate to say it, I give more credit to the chairs because people are actually attributing it to something before a reveal)

Alright, let's compare.
Here are the facts you have to believe in order to think the Gardevoir/Gothitelle leak is real:
1) The leaker managed to steal a Switch demo unit; we're long past the era where demos have to be on discs/cartridges. They're typically stored on demo consoles.
2) Nobody noticed the unit being stolen, or are inexplicably being hush-hush about it, even though this sort of thing is bound to make headlines on gaming news.
3) The leaker happens to be a skilled data miner.
4) Sakurai lied about Simon being the new character and Richter being the Echo, and instead, Simon was a last-minute Echo and Richter was planned all along.
5) That entire newcomer trailer was thrown together as a result in order to make Simon a bigger focus than Richter, even though it's arguably the one with the most effort put into it.
6) When compiling the demo, the developers decided to scrub just Simon and Chrom (who also wasn't in the leak) from the files, but either decided to leave in Richter, Gardevoir, Gothitelle, Dark Samus, and K. Rool, or just couldn't be arsed to get rid of them after having gone to the effort to get rid of Simon and Chrom.

Here are the facts you have to believe in order to think the Gardevoir/Gothitelle leak is fake:
1) Richter was a lucky guess.

Which sounds more reasonable?

Addtionally, LoZ18 himself apparently thinks the CEO/Gardevoir + Gothitelle leak is BS. It just doesn't make much sense at all and seems completely fake. Richter really wasn't impossible to guess considered there was ANOTHER 4chan leak guessing Richter but was also wrong because it guessed K Rool was an AT.

Both of these sound fake.

I know you're just playing devil's advocate, but oil barrels appear in a lot of games. One screen shot from a sepcific level will not convince me that oil barrels = Donkey Kong themed.

Probably, I'd prefer a healthy mix of the 2 tbh. I'll be super disappointed if Xenoblade X is skipped out on entirely just because of that

So after the first direct and the announcement of echo fighters being a thing you saw a lot more comments anticipating and predicting Chrom, Dark Samus, Shadow, and Isabell. Mostly because assets such as assist trophies, skin colors, and final smashes were not shown or included in the demo. Even during the August direct Sakurai says "I bet you saw this coming" for Chrom and Dark Samus... So anyone claiming to leak Shadow or Isabelle is a super safe and predictable 'leak'

The scariest thing to happen to Smash could be if your most wanted character isn't deconfirmed when Smash comes out, but isn't in. But then, Assist Trophies are added as content for a certain franchise, and that most wanted character is deconfirmed there.

I don't think Assist Trophies have ever been added as a part of DLC, but do you guys think that will ever happen?

I actually like Lycanroc a little more than Incineroar, but recently iv'e felt Incineroar has better chances (also starter bias).
I think Dusk Lycanroc (being a mix of both) has the best chance of the Lycanroc to get in. But assuming it was too late for the party which Lycanroc do you think will? I think Midnight Lycanroc personally, simply because it's upright. Yes, they could work around the holding items thing but it'd be a little less effort to go with the bipedal one.

What you're doing is looking at the evidence individually, and not as a whole. A single tree is not evidence of a forest, that is true.

You've got an oil drum, which goes back to the original arcade game, one of the only elements from it aside from DK himself to be carried over into the rest of the franchise. And it's sitting next to a rope ladder. Either of these things on their own can be written off. But in conjunction, that's what makes them look like Donkey Kong. The other things in the I don't see as helping the argument much.

I showed this off to the Zelda social earlier, but it seems like Zelda can hold her Phantom in place while recovering offstage, and essentially keep the opponent from getting near her or else they get hit when she releases it. I had both of them on my E3 bingo sheet, long before Verg was ever on the scene. Along with Isabelle, too, I might add.

Just because some people are afraid to get their hopes up doesn't mean the rest of us can't see what's up. I expected this game to be ballot based long before e3. Ridley is Ridley and Simon was the most voted for third party after Bayonetta, Shovel Knight and Shantae (according to the fan exit polls, which are proving to be much more accurate than we had originally thought).

But that's besides the point, as Isabelle was easily one of the most common echo picks immediately after the direct, before Verg leaked her.
