I know we've gone through this rodeo time and time again but I'm still gonna use it. It looks a lot like Mach Rider's.It's also not the rifle from Sakurai's mech.

Nobody's saying Ridley tears down the relevancy argument, mate. If anything, it's that we got 3-5 characters in one day who lack relevance, depending on your personal cutoff date for "relevance." (The arbitrary and subjective nature of the issue itself proves that relevancy isn't something to be relied on when it comes to Smash speculation in my book, but I digress.) We obviously can't say relevancy doesn't matter period, but when King K. Rool is in the game after a decade-long absence and even longer since his prime as the main villain of his home series, it's hard to call relevancy a requisite to join the roster like many thought it was. That is what we mean when we say "relevancy doesn't matter".Can we just stop pretending that Ridley and the Belmonts mean something about the "relevancy doesn't matter"?
Ridley has always been a huge part of the Metroid series, even if there were no new Metroid games back in 2015 (except a spin off, and I'm also quite sure that Samus Returns was in development since 2014) Ridley would have been on the next main game. He is the third most rwcurring character in the series, behund only Samus and the Metroids. It's no different from when Diddy Kong joined Brawl even if there weren't DKC games around that time.
And the Belmont...the series isn't dead. In fact in Japan they released this year a new mobile game. Which also feature both Simon and Richter. For some of you mobile games aren't real games, but it shows that the series is still active. Besides all this, Castlevania made history, so being such a classic it doesn't really need a game every year. It's just like how when Mega Man was added in Smash For, except that Mega Man was probably in a even worse situation.
The only real irrelevant characters today are King K. Rool (who can always being brought back in the DK/Mario series) and Dark Samus, an easy clone requested by many who wanted a new Metroid rep but though Ridley would have been impossible.
You may well be right, but why would Sakurai need an external reference for a character who already has several canon 3D models complete with animations in reserve? That doesn't make sense. The most Geno has by comparison is the Mii Costume, and it's hardly out of the question for his design as a fighter to get an upgrade from that; compare K. Rool's appearance in Ultimate to his Mii Costume, for instance.Elma uses a gun that is really similar to the gun the mech uses.
I might be seeing what I want to see, but that sorta reminds me more of Saki or Isa's guns actuallyIt's also not the rifle from Sakurai's mech.

Someone used this image and had the captions DELET THIS on it after I scared everyone saying Elma was in.This is the biggest "delet this" energy I've felt in an image.
That seems to be a Sakurai thing, too. He seems to prefer their earliest incarnations. Simon is the most recent example. Almost everything Ryu comes out of Street Fighter II specifically, Pac-Man retain his classic design, Mega Man looks and moves like he did in the NES games, Sonic mostly looks like his modern design but moves like he did in the Genesis days. But anyway Konamk have been using Simon's classic design recently, from officially licensed figures to his appearance on games like Super Bomberman R and the mobile Castlevania game. And Richter's other design is from Symphony of the Night, which isn't that much more recent than Rondo of Blood.
Also Sakurai wanted to use classic Pac-man instead of the Ghostly Adventure. That's exactly a case of a relevant character going with his classic appearance rather that the newer redesign.
My bad. He looks like he's made of wood. Didn't scream "action figure" to me. I still don't think Sakurai's mech toy points to him, but I could be wrong.Geno was an action figure. Not a marionette. He's not controlled by strings
Watch how the kids plays with Geno
Amiibo, possibly? Maybe it's too early but who knows.Does it really make sense for Sakurai to buy the mech as a reference for Geno's gun after already having it modeled for the Mii costume? It's not impossible he wanted it redone, it's just a weird timeline
It's also not a gattling gun. It's also not the rifle from Sakurai's mech.

I believe Mach Rider's theme was seen in the music section in the direct. May deconfirm her.I know we've gone through this rodeo time and time again but I'm still gonna use it. It looks a lot like Mach Rider's.
I was gonna say that too, but I just really, really want Geno.I know we've gone through this rodeo time and time again but I'm still gonna use it. It looks a lot like Mach Rider's.

All of the retros had tracks there.I believe Mach Rider's theme was seen in the music section in the direct. May deconfirm her.
As much as I like SSE and all... and this will be a very unpopular opinion, but if Spirits is what you described (and I believe it is) it's... very close to what I wish SSE were instead of what it ended up being. I wanted to fight through the characters worlds, not some generic lands and buildings. The stages were fun I guess, but I never got much out of them, mostly the cutscenes only.I don’t get why some people think this is the new story mode.
As much as I want it to be a story mode, at most, Spirits is most likely the mode used to unlock the characters and have you fight the boss battles Rathalos and Dracula are in and probably a couple of more bosses, which I would be alright with.
However, creating a story mode with 67+ characters is asinine, and makes little to no sense at this point, despite how cool it would be, it would be an extensive workload. SSE nearly killed Brawl and it had less than half of Ultimate’s roster and the story was still a mess. Imagine doing something like this but twice the work and even LESS development time.
Honestly, they would rather have something like a Smash Manga/Anime as an seperate entity entirely, which I’m all aboard since they can put more effort into that than have to worry about making the game.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHung out withStormC today and he reminded me of the best thing ever.
King K. Rool is getting an amiibo.
I didn't know Geno was a Heavy echoIt's also not a gattling gun.
Which is what Geno has.
>herI believe Mach Rider's theme was seen in the music section in the direct. May deconfirm her.
I don't see Geno in the trio.I was gonna say that too, but I just really, really want Geno.
I mean of course I would still buy, love, and play the game even if he wasn't in, but with Ridley/K.Rool in, he's literally all we need to complete the "trio".
And before someone asks "What trio?", I'm not gonna explain it for the thousandth time, other people have already done that.
So did Ice Climbers, yet they're still there and have a stage and their own series icon.I believe Mach Rider's theme was seen in the music section in the direct. May deconfirm her.
There's a trio I always thought it was a duet?I thought the trio was always Ridley, K.Rool and Isaac.
Don’t forget that Sexy Simon Amiibo. The Geno amiibo will be even better because it'll be like you actually own a Geno toy!
tfw yoshi gets betrayed by a character zinith had never knew existed until four days agoRichter amiibo, here I come
Nah, Geno outranked Isaac by a lot always. Next in line would probably be Isaac though.I thought the trio was always Ridley, K.Rool and Isaac.
Why do I get the feeling Richter is going to be more popular than Simon?Richter amiibo, here I come
Now that I'm seeing it again, it looks less like the mech gun than I remembered. Mach Rider's is definitely more similar.Kind of a double post, but here.View attachment 157224
Duck Hunt too, I believe. So did Ice Climbers, yet they're still there and have a stage and their own series icon.
Well in Smash 4 we had the Smashboards Elite 4 of the most popular characters we wanted. There's a trio I always thought it was a duet?
He's the pretty boy.Why do I get the feeling Richter is going to be more popular than Simon?
It's not an unpopular opinion. I never saw another fan prefers SSE's World of Trophies to Nintendo words in Melee's Adventure Mode except me.As much as I like SSE and all... and this will be a very unpopular opinion, but if Spirits is what you described (and I believe it is) it's... very close to what I wish SSE were instead of what it ended up being. I wanted to fight through the characters worlds, not some generic lands and buildings. The stages were fun I guess, but I never got much out of them, mostly the cutscenes only.
If that's what it will be, this might just be the ultimate Smash Bros...
I've known about Richter for YEARS!!!tfw yoshi gets betrayed by a character zinith had never knew existed until four days ago
That's the thing. Geno want outright died pre Smash 4.Nah, Geno outranked Isaac by a lot always. Next in line would probably be Isaac though.
Because Richter is the best Belmont in the series. Why do I get the feeling Richter is going to be more popular than Simon?
Elma points a gun at the camera in every 4th story chapter, so she has a fair range of "delet this".This is the biggest "delet this" energy I've felt in an image.
Geno, Mach Rider, ElmaA little bit of Google ain't gonna kill anybody.View attachment 157222
You're literally just making up a new trio that includes Isaac. The trio of seemingly unrealizable characters was always Ridley/K.Rool/Geno. It's been like that since the Brawl days.I believe Isaac replaced either Little Mac or Palutena but I can't remember the last one. I think it was Wolf.
