I want to say this is a bit wrong, but it is actually so true it hurts.

It is wrong and is a grossly misunderstanding especially the stages part. If you want items on, go play with your friends. That's not saying competitive smashers never have for fun matches either.

If you want to get good with the actual character v character interactions; items off and play on good stages. No one is asking for people to join the competitive scene either. People are just naturally gravitate towards the competitive aspect anyway. If you prefer items on etc... Chances are you probably not going to like competitive smash either; it's not for you. Its oka honestly. The Smash community in that reference is the competitive community so I don't know what you expect when they have rulesets.

So he's moved to "deconfirming" characters now?

It does feel tad fishy how he now won't bother talking about this Gen 7 newcomer in deeper detail than that. Adding then on the way Smash-community talks about him like this now in various sites looks kind of wrong now, especially since we have to yet see any signs of Simon up to this point anyway.

It's like he's getting easy attention just because he "guessed" one character right in E3.
