I have no problem with the models, they look fine enough (except for some of those with super anime eyes like lin has) I think the bigger issue is that they're literally not animated the majority of the time so they look dead and have no emotion which just looks strange, but I don't really get the issue people have with the models themselves

Never got a chance to play Xenoblade X so I can't judge the animations but I definitely agree on you point about Lin. Characters like Elma, Vandame, and the blue alien dude hold up much better than Lin and Cross.

Mei, except she's from the Christmas gamemode where her snowballs insta-kill, so all of her attacks instantly kill you regardless of percentage.

Think Ice Climbers, but all of their attacks are just their wobble, and then make that even worse.

Also, I found another detail about the EVO Spring Man leak on GameFAQs. Apparently the creator of the leak asked someone to make renders for him.

Is hard to imagine Tracer or any overwatch character getting high in the ballot when overwatch wasn't even out for that.

Also because unlike the 3rd parties present in Smash, she actually, for realsies, completely, has nothing to do with Nintendo.
Now I know Sakurai said it's a courtesy, but come on, everyone present is at least is tangentially related to Nintendo.

Whats wrong with her personality? I don't play Xenoblade so I wouldn't know.

I didn't beat the game, I didn't even get to a skell yet (I know...) But I played a ton and Elma was just very boring to me. She's a soldier. That's pretty much her whole character, and I don't like military characters generally. That plus her model, oh and her voice actress was incredibly monotone. She just didn't stick out to me. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like her in Smash though.

Also I agree that I feel everyone just looked over the "closer to December" comment. If he was saying just wait or stay tuned why didn't he say that??? I'm not saying we'll literally have to wait until December, but I don't think it would be crazy to not get any huge reveals in August.

The person who said they asked for renders didn't post any sources or anything...so they're honestly just as credible as the leaker themselves XD.

I don't think it's likely but it gives me reason to look forward to EVO when I wouldn't normally.

I have a lot of time for people suggesting Dry Bowser as an echo.

I've always wanted him as a skin for Bowser. Seems an easy and cool thing to do.

I feel an echo is a bit too much for Dry Bowser, honestly.

Why not both? They're both iconic, awesome, full of "let's kick ***", and from major franchises.

When a character gets unlocked doesn't really matter in terms of priority. was the last character unlocked in Melee but that doesn't mean he was lower priority than the 6 clones.

While I think doing a reboot would be a good thing overall for the series as a whole to keep things from being too cluttered, I don't feel like it's something Nintendo would necessarily do given the kind of backlash something like that would cause. A lot of people would see it as a waste of money when they already have ultimate with so many characters they enjoy. Considering Nintendo doesn't exactly have many (if any) all-star characters left to have as newcomers if they did do a reboot and the majority of their target audience wouldn't see gameplay mechanics as a reason to get the new one.

But Mario Kart is also prominently known for it's gameplay and modes. Everything in Smash Bros. takes a back seat to the roster, as much as we might not want to admit that.

Yeah I sort of agree. I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with her personality. She's meant to be the dependable leader that the team and a lot of New LA relies on. The problem is that's all she is. We learn very little about her due to spoilers and like I said despite being dependable she really has no other traits. I feel like every other character in the cast has a story and emotions besides her. She has her moments though. Doesn't matter when it comes to Smash.

I forgot about melee and the Smash 4 clones. I was only focusing on Brawl when I made the post. Now, I'm assuming that Jigglypuff was planned to be in the game, but was made later than most of the cast.

Steve is owned by Microsoft first and foremost. Minecraft was also originally an indie game and we don't even know if Sakurai even entertains games that originated from Indie. Thirdly; Steve could have worked if this was Nintendo 64 possibly but it's not. Fourthly; I do not want Steve in Smash. He would look more out of place than Game & Watch (at least he 2D) in a platformer fighter. Steve will never be in Smash unless something miraculous happens.

balance has already completely thrown out the window. If we end up with anything closer to the high 70's/low 80's, even with echo's, it's going to go so far out the roof that you won't even notice the house.

Really, I'm not even sure a reboot roster is the best idea. There's like, maybe ten characters that I can think of that are worth adding at this point? And all of them you can make as much of a counter argument for (asides from the new series) - Until someone actually comes up with an interesting idea behind a reboot roster or anything else, I think the reboot idea needs to sit down a long time before happening.

Gamestop employees don't know a thing that the general public doesn't up until they have cartridges in their hands. Which smart companies make sure isn't too long before release.
