Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Today's fighter is Pichu and we actually got some new info for once:
Pichu's electric attacks have greater range and do more damage than its other attack types—but they also damage Pichu.

Pac-Man can't tech confirmed. Got beat by a literal child using a For Glory Link.

Feels bad man.

Link with the comeback. Stood on his island and just threw bombs. But he was the last one standing, and that's all that matters. lol

If Palkia is still a Pokeball summon, I hope that at some point when the game is out that someone summons him at the same time the Palkia on Spear Pillar does its thing.

Actually I spotted something neat.

Link's new bombs interact with his boomerang coming back. If done one after another, the bomb will hit it, get knocked a bit up, and then sharply fall. It might be useful for some setups.

When Palkia is summoned as a Poké Ball Pokémon on Spear Pillar, Alfonso is in charge of controlling space.

Alfonso: "Leave it to me!"

I'm sorry I had to.

Why so sorry?
This is a good meme. ;)

Also this Bayonetta player is not that good. The Link was doing nothing. Literally.

I wonder how long this event will last.

It’s about 2 AM right now for me. So we had around 2 hours of more concrete gameplay.

Adding this so I can go back to the stream.
It's 8 AM here ... I've been watching since 4 AM. Ugh. I love it, but I do also love sleep, you know?

Pikachu Libre takes it.

BTW, I'm still not sure how I feel about how Smash Balls seems to move around this time.

Damn that little kid who played as Link lasted a lot longer than I expected at like 150%.

Kudos to him.

Sh*t, back to Aces.

That Pikachu player was pretty good. But somehow Link holds on for another Sudden Death match. Glad to see Pikachu win in the end, though.

EDIT: Opened this up to type about that match, then heard the cry of "WAH!" from the stream. Not just one Waluigi on ACES, but a mirror match. So much "WAH!"

Yay Pika Libre, also Tennis, also Waluigi, he certainly popular for most of the Tennis players in the tournament.

Back to boring Mario Tennis.

It doesn't even have the special gauge or anything like that.

I PLAY MARIO SPORTS GAME FOR THE MARIO ASPECT. NOT THE BORING-ASS REALISTIC PART.

Mario Tennis is not the most boring Mario sports game to watch, but it does not catch my interest that much.

Honestly, I'm pretty hyped about Aces. I'll get it alongside Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and pre-order of Smash Ultimate once I get a Switch.
Never been any interested in sports, but the Tennis Mario games are actually pretty fun.

Also, regarding special meters. I think I recall it being it's own special mode, which is better than it being the core, alone gameplay. This way it will appeal to more casual sport nuts too.
