Fixed that for ya'. I'm not killing any "leaks" until the end of the event.
But, I do have more "leaks" for another session.
-Dixie Kong will be an echo fighter for Diddy Kong
-Shadow will be an echo fighter for Sonic
-Goku will be coming as either a DLC or in the base game, I'm not sure which one
-It was found out sort of recently that the ballot didn't matter by some people, the data will be used in Smash Ultimate. That's why Goku's in the game
-Because Goku got in, Vegeta will have an assist trophy
-No exact date on when this will be revealed officially but it'll be within October 10th to December 1st
The epitome of low quality. Is barely being added as it threads the line between it's low quality and mention of DLC (all DLC leaks are in the graveyard right now).
> King K Rool
Among the most requested characters in the ballot, Sakurai had no plans to implement him, but after seeing the votes, he reconsidered.
> Waddle Dee
Sakurai wanted to incorporate Waddle Dee in a bigger way since Brawl but felt other series should have priority.
> Ninten (e)
With the introduction of echo fighters, Sakurai felt it was a perfect time to add in Ninten and completely represent all 3 of the MOTHER games.
> Karate Joe
Rhythm Heaven’s choir kids were originally slated to get in, but Sakurai eventually decided on Karate Joe as he believed his moveset would be easier to implement
> Paper Mario
Character takes a few assets from Game and Watch, but not enough to even be called a semi-clone, largely original moves.
> Ashely
Heavily requested in Japan and has had a growing population in the west that has been noted by Sakurai.
> Dixie
Was intended to be added to Brawl and then Wii U as part of the original base roster but was cut due to time restraints, ultimate was an opportunity for her inclusion.
> Issac
Was originally going to be promoted from an assist trophy much like Little Mac, however was replaced in favor of cloud, development of the character was then moved to Smash Ultimate.
> Simon Belmont
Konami themselves requested Simon Belmont to be in Smash while Nintendo was discussing Snake’s reappearance in the series.
> Mach Rider
Was considered for Melee, but with the introduction of Ganondorf, Sakurai was afraid off adding to many fighters that would heavily barrow from Captain Falcon.
> Dark Samus (e)
Easy to implement fighter that gave more representation to a very popular franchise, also served as another villain, one of the first echo fighters conceptualized.
Same old same old.
Erdrick from Dragon Quest I-III will be revealed at the Smash Bros/Mario Tennis event later today. He is a brand new fighter.
Time's running out. Tick tock.
Hey guys. I have an actual chunk of info here about the new Smash bros.
Newcomers
>Geno
>K.Rool
>Bandana Waddle Dee (has an alt that gives him a Sailor hat tho so idk if that counts as another character cause idk kirby)
>Dixe semi-clone
>Rowlet
>Sora (Roxas is an alt)
>Excitebike
>Shadow The Hedgehog (Echo)
>Captain Toad (Toadette is an alt)
New stages
>Planet Robobot stage. occasionally a tall mech/vehicle piloted by a robot girl flies by the stage and drops little golden statues of herself to damage you
>Twilight Town. Kinda like Hyrule Castle but on a big clock tower.
>Some Sun/Moon stage. I didn't catch the name but it's a beach area. Occasionally some space portal will appear and some of the UBs will fly out.
>Excite Track. The dirt track from Excitebike. Like in Mario Kart, the level's geometry is dynamic and changes each session
New Modes
>Smash Crew - A mode where you can pick a handful of characters to fight as. Each character acts as one stock like in SS
>Emissary mode. It's kinda like a hybrid of the SSE and Adventure mode. No story, but it has actual crafted levels and has that Kirby-esque gameplay. It actually has a style meter like DMC or Bayonetta and you get ranked at the end of each level which is cool.
>Every character has their own break the targets again
Feel free to ask me anything about the project
Sora is my dream, but again I doubt that we're going to have only 1 - 2 third parties, both of them from Square Enix. Shadow as an Echo is somewhat of a non-starter. I feel like Geno, Simon, and a Namco Rep is our most likely combo of third parties. Maybe add Banjo & Kazooie/Steve, Rayman, or Erderick if you really want to.
hey guys. i have some info on marketing stuff for SE, all of it dq11 related. i wanted to let you guys in on something before it comes out, since i think you guys will be pretty interested. the reports about the dq11 switch port being far off are very, very wrong. in actuality, what is happening, is nintendo is holding back the reveal of it for a nintendo direct later this year. i think its supposed to be scheduled around september, but that's basically all up to nintendo. there's a few reasons why they're doing this. first off, they are publishing the switch port in the west, similar to what they have done for most of the dq games released on their consoles. secondly, they are working with devs over in japan to add some new content, from what i know its supposed to be similar to the stuff that skyrim got, with crossover content. third, and this is the biggest reason, they are revealing a dq character for smash bros. i dont know who exactly, but from what ive heard it's either erdrick or the dq11 hero. they want to do a reveal similar to the splatoon one they revealed the game with. i believe there is also supposed to be an assist trophy (i am pretty sure its slime) as well as a stage. the reasoning ive heard for the inclusion and strong representation is that nintendo was having some difficulty hyping up audiences in japan for the last game due to inclusions like little mac, so they wanted to have a sure bet to sell the game over there. i dont have anything else. sorry if that wasnt a lot
Further statements:
look man im sorry the details of the specific character are being kept under pretty tight wraps and my connection is a little loose. i am very confident that it will be one of the two, but ive heard erdrick more
i honestly dont know what i could do to prove this **** lol. i dont work at SE, i have this info through other means
the reasoning i heard for erdrick was that his game is one of the most popular in japan, and theyre baiting for *** audiences with dq reps
Erderick is popular today I guess. Interesting framing device, being from a person who has info on SE. Dude was pretty responsive in the thread too. Overall one of the better-ish text leaks I've seen. Dragon Quest is very popular in Japan, so if Nintendo is catering more towards the Japanese this time around, a Dragon Quest rep is one of the best ways to do so. Add Ashley and Erderick for definite sales.
Also, I guess I'll talk about what I'm doing with the count right now. I intended to talk about it when it was done, but that's not going to be for a while.
Anyways, to keep track of individual "leaks" and what characters they mention, I've been adding character lists to each "leak" corresponding to characters mentioned. I've also created a separate spreadsheet for the graveyard, with dead "leaks" being transferred straight to the graveyard, character lists and all. With this, I'll be able to
Check my current count and make sure it's accurate with what I currently have
AND
Be able to maintain a count of character mentions within living "leaks"
I know I tried to do an updated count, but stopped it after realizing how difficult that would be to maintain. Now, it's as easy as using Command + F to tally up character mentions and add and subtract them as needed.
The only thing is, this means that I have to go back and read through every single "leak" I've documented, make a character list, and re-read them to to determine whether they meet current criteria (I've already had like 5 leaks I grandfathered in sent to the graveyard) or mention things to disqualify them (like all stages returning and DLC). And on top of that, I need to keep up with current "leaks" and not fall behind. It's certainly a lot of work, but it's something I should've done much earlier, so I guess it's my own fault. I'll do my best to finish this as soon as possible. Right now I've made it through around 40 leaks after 2-3 hours as a gauge for where I'm at right now. I should hopefully be finished within the next day or so if I really work hard.
I took some pictures so you guys can see what's going on. I wish I could open my personal document back up so that you could see these changes for yourselves, but I'd prefer to keep my personal copy to myself to prevent it from spreading again. That's why I created the public version of the spreadsheet.
Welcome to the Graveyard, where leaks go to rest in pieces. Alongside a character list, I also have the cause of death, so that way I can know how they died.
This is what the new Thread Links tab looks like. Cells get pretty tall with massive character lists, but it's easy enough to traverse using simple keyboard controls. The names in the Notes column are spaced out so they don't get picked up by any Find commands. It was either that, or split the thread links tab into two, and I think it's the easier solution of the two.
Here's what the Living Leaks Count will look like. Right now it's just a copy of the All Leaks Count, but when all of this is complete I plan on going through and subtracting the character mentions in the graveyard from the All Count, creating the Living Count. When it's finished, the Living Count will be added to the Public Document. I'll try to update it at the end of every week, as I sort through "leaks" to find dead ones. I can't wait for a character reveal to come and kill 50% of these "leaks" and I have to do mass subtraction. /s
I might also try to add some charts and **** to the Public Document for the enjoyment of those who view it, but that's a low priority right now.
Ike's Final Smash epic as always Inkling is just pitching bombs and reflect a massive Hothead with his bat, that was epic. That Ness player knows what they're doing.
