I swear I don't understand why so many people hate Miis. Being able to put anyone you want in the game is such a novel concept and they are pretty enjoyable to play.

All the Codecs from Brawl get reused and only new characters get new Codecs

they can't do that since takeshi aono, colonel campbell's japanese VA, is dead. they have to re-record the codecs if they bring them back.

This whole debacle is really funny if you think about it.

Konami has a game embargoed until Wednesday/Thursday, which could end up being the rumored new Castlevania game as reported by Vergeben and Stealth. The existence of this game would seemingly lend credibility to the Simon Belmont in Smash rumor.

However, Vergeben is now claiming that the game embargoed is actually just Hyper Sports R, which already made its debut. That's an odd claim since everyone else thinks its a new game. To make matters more confusing, Gamekult in a video claimed that the game showed behind closed doors was not PES or Hyper Sports R.

So if it IS Castlevania, does that help or hurt? Because the game existing would corroborate one part of the rumor and yet he says this isn't it. What a mess.

As always, take all this with an enormous pile of salt.

I never understood why we single out specific fandoms for toxicity when every fandom has some toxicity in it.

It's because they aren't "real" characters compared to the rest of the Smash cast. And having no character make it hard for peoples to give a **** about them.

Plus, the fact they couldn't be played online on For Glory and For Fun and were banned in tournaments make them played by very few peoples.

You have absolutely no idea how hyped up I am to play the top two rows alone in Smash Ultimate. Seeing that video of Ganondorf's speed and the fact that he uses his sword for smash attacks? Hnnngh. I'm thinking optimistically that the speed and physics of the game will remain the same or even improve from the E3 demo to release. Please don't prove me wrong, Sakurai.

Agreed, i dont think people are putting the facts down in front of themselves clearly. They are looking at SOME things he "called" and thinking it wasnt that hard to call and some of it was off so they are discrediting him.

but the truth is he CALLED Konami returning, almost no one thought that would happen, and if it did more people were saying simon was likely over snake and here we are with snake and bomberman and the likelihood of simon belmont extremely high. so to say JUST because we didnt see simon at E3 verge was wrong is pretty ridiculous. and now the "at least a half dozen more" probably means he (or his source) knows there are 6 more but if time allows it maybe another echo or something will be made. smash always has characters working up to the deadline so to say there are exactly "some specific amount" more fighters left wouldnt be honest, hes probably talked to some source who was able to ask someone in the know how big the base roster is and they probably said "we have 6 more but are trying to squeeze as many in as possible so maybe more than that by the end" or something to that extent.

basically people dont realize leaks arent people time traveling to the future and KNOWING how things will go down, not even sakurai knows what the final game will look like exactly. its just gematsu all over again.

the one thing i really want more clarification on is the minecraft part of the leak, i seem to have heard that was from a less reliable source of his but id like clarification if he still thinks thats happening or what.

Mach Rider who I believe is our secret Retro Rep.

She uses a gun while riding a motorcycle and I believe Sakurai got that gun so he can figure out how to do her Ride and shoot gimmick she'd likely have. That's the only theory I have since the Gun doesn't seem to match Inklings moveset at all.

What did the Miis ever do to you?

As the person who inadvertently started this "listing every character" schtick I put them at the bottom of mine because I have no interest in "create your own character" tropes. They always feel like more generic versions of existing fighters to me.

Other characters I placed low were due to a variety of reasons:

- I don't care about the character or the games from which they originate (Bayonetta; my salt was real long before bayo jank was a thing)
- I like the character but don't like playing as them (Mega Man)
- There is a character similar enough to the character that I like more (Fox < Falco < Wolf, for example)

However as an old Ice Climbers main I don't *dislike* that any of the old characters are returning and wouldn't begrudge anyone the chance to use their old main again.

Perhaps a more interesting thing to have done in retrospect would have been a smaller, more detailed list along the lines of a top 10 where people can just talk about the stuff they love, which is always more interesting than the stuff they hate.

One thing that IDK if it has been brought up, but, there’s a kind of inaccuracy in Inkling’s moveset in the fact that the Roller is used to roll over the ground and run over people... who actually does that in Splatoon beyond low level play and the rare case an opponent just happens to be that close? Flicking ink off of the roller is so much better in almost all scenarios, the vertical flick especially since Smash is 2D. I know, gameplay balance / moveset design and all that, plus the Roller running over people is more iconic than the flick is in a way, just wanted to point that out, though

Side note, I wonder if two Rollers crashing into each other can cause both players to be buried. Rollers crashing into each other was one of the more memorable parts of the Splatoon Testfires, ahaha...

wait he said k rool now? and im pretty certain he said YES to ice climbers returning from the start. i thought his leak was:

Ridley / Simon belmont / Ice climbers / "no cuts"

then he added: Snake returning

and at some point added: minecraft in some way but not as a character

Man, Stealth__ leaked Snake months before Verg.
And Emily Rogers said it would be the most complete Smash ever... which you could take as suggesting every character ever.

Verg just took a bunch of leaks from other sources and made an amalgamation leak, added his own stuff and was wrong.

I've been following his leak for awhile now and never once saw him say a source told him King K. Rool.

Honestly, I could see Mach Rider as an Echo of Captain Falcon, and nothing more.

Thank you! I am very passionate about Meowth. I remember there was a time when I was very passionate about Duck Hunt Dog that I made some creative movesets for him. I guess when I am really passionate about an underrated or oft-dismissed character, I just let my creative juices flow.

My other idea for Team Rocket was to just have Meowth & Wobbuffet team. "Keep it simple stupid" I remind myself when I have ideas about Meowth teaming up with Arbok and Weezing. I figured that if I paired Meowth and Wobbuffet together, Meowth would do the attacking and Wobbuffet would do the defending.
