Hell no. Star Fox is actually quite relevant today. That title would go to Ness and Captain Falcon. Star Fox had Zero two years ago, just was announced to appear in Ubisoft's Starlink today and Star Fox Grand Prix has been leaked for Nintendo's e3.

As said, the OP specified the original 8, meaning Fox is going up against Mario, Kirby, DK, Yoshi, Link, Samus and Pikachu.

Well, this will probably be my last post on this thread before Nintendo E3 Direct starts. I'm gonna go to sleep earlier than usual. I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting anxious. I really hope Yoshi gets some attention during the demo assuming he's even playable. Most people are rooting for things like Ridley, King K. Rool, Snake, etc. but for me I have one wish for this game.

If Ridley really DOES become playable, these people will shift their comments to:

"I can't believe they did that. He looks so stupid. This is unfaithful. Sakurai is a liar! They only gave in to the stupid Ridley fanboys. Nintendo, c'mon...you're gonna give in to a bunch of crybabies? Complain enough, and you'll get what you want, I guess. Petition to cut Ridley; worst character ever!"

1. Ridley
2. Dovahkiin for Smash (I know, no chance)
3. Urbosa and/or Midna for Zelda one-offs
4. Pokémon Trainer is back! (I miss you, Squirtle)
5. K. Rool
6. Melee-style single player modes (randomized enemies)
7. Few changes for Link - only bombs -> remote bombs, return of flurry, and add wall-cling and crawl. Keep him a lefty!
8. Smash run HD
9. Loads of returning stages, including Fountain of Dreams, Great Bay, both Mushroomy Kingdoms, Gerudo valley, etc.
10. Everyone gets the Meta Knight/Bowser treatment for victory themes - keep the melody the same by franchise, but everyone gets a unique arrangement.
11. A beautiful opening cinematic that isn’t just cobbling trailers with gameplay.
12. Smash 4 style character art for each newcomer.

Well people already use that for Sakurai's stance on pacifist fighters

I can only think of 5 things that aren't on there
1. A new WTF Character
2. The Ice Climbers
3. What ever the heck that Minecraft reprisentation is supposed to be
4. A plethora of new stages
5. New Modes

When you say it like that, I realized Ridley actually has more priority than freakin playable characters in some cases. But yeah, if he gets in, it will prove fans can pressure Sakurai into making characters playable.

Not quite. Remember, Sakurai's official word on Ridley in the past was that his team hadn't been able to find a way to make him work in a playable role while still feeling true to character. If Ridley does get revealed today, it won't be due to Sakurai caving to pressure, it'll be because he finally figured out a character concept that works.
