Anyway, we're here to talk about ****, someone in ResetEra seems to have discovered aproximately when Rex/Pyra's design were finalized

Apparently, Elma's VA did some Recording around October 2017 for Fire Emblem Heroes.
And Simon's VA from Castlevania Judgement (yes, he have one, though, he might end up as a silent protagonist or grunt like Link, who knows-) did some Recording for Fire Emblem Heroes around April 2018. They COULD have been asked to record voice-lines for their Smash Characters at the same times, since apparently, the Fire Emblem characters who appeared in Both Heroes and Warriors did so?

Banjo in Smash would be so great, I've wanted that since Melee.

But I wish people would stop thinking Microsoft is keeping Goldeneye from Nintendo, if they had the ability to keep that from happening then don't ypu think it would be on Xbox by now? The most likely reason for it never getting a rerelease is that the rights to the game are so tangled up in different companies that it just isn't worth the time or money to even think about.

Perhaps that's true, it's totally fake but...It still bother me when people try to debunk something without argument and just say "I know they won't be in smash". I would have liked if perhaps he went more open and at least went ahead to say WHO he's sure isn't in-
I'm sure that wouldn't have put his source in danger...

That's something I can at least give to Vergeben. He have a 50/50 record and probably the least reliable, but he doesn't go vague like "MUH ULTIMATE ROSTER FAN WILL LOVE IT" and "I know stuff"

But Vergeben said his source told him Minecraft would have representation in the form of AT or/and stage. Banjo could be the playable representation. Also this dreamcast guy mentioned that Banjo being playable was one of the rumored things from the microsoft-nintendo alliance.

Because Crash got a lot of support for the ballot, and it just sky rocketed when they announced Cloud as a DLC.

The increase in WANT for Crash in Smash IS because of the new trilogy.

HOWEVER...

People were shilling support for him way back in the Brawl days alongside Mega Man, Pac Man, etc.

So he's been a fan want since the original two 3rd parties.

Finalized doesn't mean it didn't exist. The characters likely existed before that and there were likely sketches for the characters earlier than that date. The info you posted was for their facial expressions, not the character, which were probably done sooner. Moreover, this is only the stuff in the book, not the totality of the designing of these characters (which we will never know). The idea for the game was always "boy meets girl" and it was decided early on to use two characters (one idea was to have giant mechs but they changed it to people sized characters). By the by, those dates mean more for the other characters since a lot of the modeling was outsourced except Rex and Pyra were done in-house. Fun fact, there is also early concept art of Rex with blond hair.

One of the reasons I don't like the "timing" thing is it relies on a lot of vague dates. When did Sakurai start? We don't really know. It is likely no earlier than March (given DLC ending, time off, other patches ect) and, based on rumors, Namco Bandai was working on an engine until August 2016. When did Sakurai stop choosing character? What information did he know? How do we know he had a cut off? People are jumping through a lot of hoops.

Brawl added characters from 2016 games (Lucas and Lucario) while the game was (originally) slated to release Holiday 2007. Its not farfetched to believe that 2017 characters could be in a game that is releasing, at the earliest, in Fall 2018. Its the same thing with Villager in Smash 4 where he couldn't be in because Sakurai specifically said he couldn't be in (and the argument there was much stronger as he was talking about that specific character). I think what people end up doing is they look at the trees and not the forest. They hyperfocus on the minute aspects on what Sakurai does rather than removing that and seeing what characters get in. Its, again, why people who weren't hyperfocused were right on Villager. It just makes sense. If the only reason you can invalidate a character is "timing" then its probably wrong.

IIRC, Masked Man works for Square Enix, I believe as a translator. He actually knew about Cloud before hand. I assume he's talking about Sora, who I think was on the leak. Unless he changed jobs, thats the only thing I can think he's refering too

Hell, correct me if I'm wrong, but now that the N. Sane trilogy is coming to Switch, Twinsanity is the only mainline Crash title to never have been on a Nintendo console in some form...because the port was cancelled.

The only way that exceptions can be made is if either the character has a significant demand or the creator is a friend of Sakurai's.
