To be honest the exact same. Pac-Man was my most wanted third party at the time just because he's the very foundation of video game mascots to begin with.
How most people reacted to Megaman's reveal I reacted that way to Pac-Man.
On that subject I'm sure it's been done before but I haven't seen in a while;
Rank the reveals that got you most pumped up in Sm4sh.
While I have a love-hate relationship with KI: Uprising, Palutena's characterization was one of my absolute most favorite things from the game next to Viridi. Even though I don't play as her much due to me being pretty bad with her, her reveal will always bring back good memories of me literally jumping for joy when I saw her trailer.
I was really into Pokemon at the time (I've since cooled off on it and am a bit more "eh" on the franchise now), so seeing my favorite starter from X&Y was really cool.
Animal Crossing is easily one of my top 5 Nintendo franchises, so seeing them finally make it in made me super happy. I love their moveset and play as them pretty often as well, so I'm hoping that they're just as fun on Switch.
I have a lot of good memories of playing as him in Melee as a kid. Granted, I didn't really know what the heck Pokemon was at the time, but I still really liked him, so seeing him make a return was a very nostalgic thing.
I had finished Awakening recently and was also really hoping that this Smash game would finally give us a legit magic user. It also helps that the reveal was totally unexpected, which is something I love about Smash reveals; unexpected characters that no one thought of but in hindsight make perfect sense. They're probably my favorite Fire Emblem character on the roster next to Marth.
I haven't played FF7 yet, so I have no real attachment to this guy. Even so, his reveal was just so out there, so unreal: Cloud in Smash was pretty much just viewed as a cool wish, and nothing more. No one thought it would ever happen. When it actually did, I was right there with people going "Holy cow, Cloud in Smash! We can make Cloud fight Link! Is this even real life anymore!?", ha ha.
It was around the time I was getting into the Mother games, and I legit didn't think he had any hope of making it back due to how niche he and his series was. Needless to say, I was pretty pumped when it actually happened!
Probably hypocritical of me considering my thoughts about Dark Pit and Roy, but what can I say? I have lots of Melee nostalgia with this guy. Plus I love Mario, and will pretty much take any character from that series. I'd probably find ways to be hyped about a Goomba.
I adore Mario Galaxy, so she was certainly a welcome surprise. I don't really care for her moveset, though...
Another cool add with a very fun moveset.
I like Punch Out!, so I was pretty excited about him.
I love Miis, and their reveal trailer was hilarious. Hoping to see some Miitopia content in Smash Switch!
Never played Xenoblade, but I was happy and excited for others who were happy and excited.
Eh, would rather have a Tales of character. At least he's fun to play as, and I do have good memories of playing Pac-Man World 2.
Never played Mega Man, so my reaction was pretty much "Huh. Neat".
Pretty much the same as Mega Man.
Hmm...meh.
My reaction could pretty much be summed up with a good 'ol fashioned "lol wut".
I love her character, but why'd she have to be a clone...?
If it weren't for Lucina being a clone, I probably would be a little more accepting of him. But...do we really need 3 Marths? At least change him up a little bit!
I was pretty stoked at first, but then I actually played Fates and discovered that Corrin was one of my least favorite FE Lords of all time. At least the game they come from is great! ...When it comes to gameplay. *Cough*
Ugh, I'm sorry, but no. He's just not for me. He gives off too much of a "Nuthin' persenall, kid" vibe, and not in the funny way.
Don't care for her at all, and was super bummed when she was shown. The only DLC character that I didn't buy.

EDIT: Forgot to put in what I thought of Little Mac.
