There's the bracket, I thought SS got knocked out earlier than he did, so Fuzz didn't place quite as well as SS, but he still did well to make it through 3 rounds of pools.

The GF set, recorded on someone's handheld but good enough quality to watch for now. Insane set, the crowd is deafening at times.

Well done to Fuzz for getting 17th. Would've been extremely interesting to see him play Fly Amanita if he'd managed to upset Hax, but regardless it's a great performance and representation of UK smash :)

And Taj man...wtf is up with that lol. That run to WFs has to be the biggest upset in smash history.

He actually got 25th, the image was wrong and it was fixed, but now it seems to be wrong again for some reason.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the bracket matches.

Redd said in the info dump thread that DOH lost to Fuzz in first round of losers. Was he there? I dunno. Who's your source for Fuzz getting 25th out of interest?

It was some American who was there, but it looks like he was wrong as the bracket looks accurate now from the sounds of things. My bad, wish they'd had more constant updates. Nice one Fuzzy on 17th! :D

Mango Fanboy Johns :awesome:

I saw a lot of suspect SD's from Mango in that GF set, almost 1 every game.

Just saying.

Popping in to remind everyone that in an interview Mango claimed he would let Armada win when they met in grand finals ^_^;;

lol. There is nothing sad about mango in interviews he is consistently hilarious...something wrong with the ears of he who say otherwise.

SO MUCH LOVE ^

Hindawg
Mango said in his interview that whoever plays Armada in GF should let him win. If Mango wanted to win he could have just played more like PP, he clearly didn't want to do that. Mango is still the best and the people who KNOW this game KNOW that Mango is hands down better than Armada and if Mango tried he would have absolutely won this tournament. I'm not even going to congratulate Armada because although the bracket says he won, and Mango acted like he was trying, he still could not beat Mango in a real set. Its been so long since Mango has had to try I think he forgot how.

bakey84
Dude, Mango is the best player I have ever seen and I don't care if he lost, that doesn't make Armada the best. What Mango can do is something that I have never seen anyone else do, which is pretty much beat anyone with a whole slew of characters. He has beaten Armada with Fox, Puff, Falco, Falcon (I'm pretty sure) and more and it's because he is constantly fine tuning his game so that people can't touch him. IMO, Mango won this first game to show that he is still the best, but let Armada take the crown to show that he's compassionate in allowing someone else to take the glory. Someone who has been here...what...5 times now and never won a tournament until now. I think Mango said that whoever plays Armada to let him win because he has traveled so far not to lose. Anyway, I could go on and on. I love this game!! I am a huge Melee fan...one of the biggest and have never been to a tournament. Wish I could go....one of these days. Will never EVER get tired of this game.

It's true that mango did SD multiple times though (I'm not a mango fanboy, PP is prob my fave player in terms of style) and the SDs were pathetic, like side-b off stage lol.

Looooool va will love this!!!!

fuzzyness is campy, and a huge douche. All he talks about is himself, like, the conversation won't even be about smash then he'll just bust into talking about something of him on youtube and or how he rested m2k's dthrow>fair or some ****. He was obnoxious and people started trying to avoid him.

Dunno, he must of then....I knew Charles was going to be like that anyway and get that reception from U.S. the moment I found out that Charles was going there....

Cos I know how Charles conversation can be so self-obsessed and annoying at times and always talking about what he did....no doubt he will come on and defending himself in innocence and that he is totally oblivious to why people would have said that.

Charles need to be a lot more socially aware of how he behaves at times.

hahaha Charles can def be like that but it's also just one thing that he isn't great at and we all have our own strengths and weaknesses.

The point is he gave up a very important opportunity to gain TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE against MEW2KING and improve his Falcon game greatly (both in tournament and generally). He obviously had one of his deluded moments where he thought "I have a chance if I go jigglypuff". LOL. If he can't beat Aniolas with jiggs on PAL... then no comment about him choosing jiggs against m2k.

you're quite right. whoever this person is has accurately summarised my feelings for charles.

one of the worst moments I've ever had in the smash community was in sweden teaming with charles. wait there are two moments here.

1) we were talking to a group of people and I made a reference to that video he made of fuzzyness talking to prof, I put on a robotic voice and said "uair uair uair" or something. A couple of people chuckled. Later on, Charles and I were sat waiting to play Nedech and Dev. He turns round to the crowd of people behind us and shouts "Hey guys I just found a new combo, uair uair uair". He shouted so loud that it drowned out dreamland music from any TV in the venue. I tried to hide my face as people looked at each bewildered by this awful attempt at cashing in on his OWN JOKE.

2) We went to eat chinese with Ice and a few others after the tournament. We were laughing at how Smakis has this strange motion for doing the wobble. Everyone was sat eating at this point. Charles breaks into the conversation by saying "when you get a wobble you should do this", he then proceeded to do one of the most awkward and frightening movements I've ever seen. He slowly got up at the table, held his hands above his head and did some kind of zombie hula motion with hips, all the while carrying off this joke with the charm of a lifeless cadaver. I looked at Ice and he managed to tear his eyes away from Charles only to vomit into his food. Ok that's a lie but he looked afraid, similarly everyone else at the table looked confused and worried by this strange, haunting corpse dance that Charles was doing. Charles had his eyes fixed on the floor and his head slightly to the side so I guess he didn't notice the fear that he had managed to instill in everyone at the table.

True. Story.

he seems like he can be self obsessed
but i think jsut about everyone can

however personally i would be fairly modest if i were to go to america to play (which i will be donig for apex), but maybe thats jsut because i suck at this game :E

Everyone can be self-pbsessed at moments, but I must admit Charles does takes it to new levels, like just randomly blurting a combo he has done or some other extremely unrelated thing

I remember when me and Jolteon were talking at the monthly and he LITERALLY (and I actually mean literally) cut me off in the middle of my sentence and just walked up to us to tell us a combo he did on Alpha Dash, there wasn't even that pause to see if the person finished speaking...LITERALLY while I was in the middle of a sentence....and I was just like 'Okkk Charles'

I predict Fuzzy will be reading this thread and he'll be ultra-salty :troll:

I do agree to an extent though ... I remember him beating someone in an MK ditto on brawl and yelling "BEST META IN UK!" to spite me ... because I'm like the only MK main in the UK or something.

>_>; salty indeed.

I can understand what people are saying about Charles but in terms of his placing at least he did a good job of representing UK so we should try and stay positive imo.

Returning to the matter of the thread in hand, who's coming to this monthly? Tamao would you be able to host me and Joeman the night after the tourney (if you're around and going yourself that is)?

Yeah he did do very good...and ***** it up a lot better then I actually thought he was going to :)
And of course we just add on about 5 placing above his....and that determines where I would have placed

you press L or R(only1). The the control stick for which way you want you charecter to move (forwards/back) and the C stick where you want to throw the item all at the same time

Also some characters have a better glide toss than others.

ONE of these deluded moments? More like acting normal. I was explaining my match with Amsah at Beast to Charles on the journey home and he said (mid explanation) that he wished he had got Amsah in tournament. WHAT THE ****. So. Many. Examples.

I've got so many things to say on the matter, but that guy who prof quoted just said it how it is.
