:phone:
I was actually speaking to j3ly the other day and I was saying I think you and pms will do well, you need to just on my confidence wave, it helps you get better at the game as well. j3ly also said he thinks I'm top 10 :s psh I'm top 4!, I want to MM VA, Tamo, J03 (if he shows up), Swizzy and L-J.

Jolteon has got a lot better since the last tournament. Will be interesting to see how he does.

If I'm even close to on point I'll feel gutted to not make bracket.

And Unreal is really good, and I hope you can start to show it.

you're quite right. whoever this person is has accurately summarised my feelings for charles.

one of the worst moments I've ever had in the smash community was in sweden teaming with charles. wait there are two moments here.

1) we were talking to a group of people and I made a reference to that video he made of fuzzyness talking to prof, I put on a robotic voice and said "uair uair uair" or something. A couple of people chuckled. Later on, Charles and I were sat waiting to play Nedech and Dev. He turns round to the crowd of people behind us and shouts "Hey guys I just found a new combo, uair uair uair". He shouted so loud that it drowned out dreamland music from any TV in the venue. I tried to hide my face as people looked at each bewildered by this awful attempt at cashing in on his OWN JOKE.

2) We went to eat chinese with Ice and a few others after the tournament. We were laughing at how Smakis has this strange motion for doing the wobble. Everyone was sat eating at this point. Charles breaks into the conversation by saying "when you get a wobble you should do this", he then proceeded to do one of the most awkward and frightening movements I've ever seen. He slowly got up at the table, held his hands above his head and did some kind of zombie hula motion with hips, all the while carrying off this joke with the charm of a lifeless cadaver. I looked at Ice and he managed to tear his eyes away from Charles only to vomit into his food. Ok that's a lie but he looked afraid, similarly everyone else at the table looked confused and worried by this strange, haunting corpse dance that Charles was doing. Charles had his eyes fixed on the floor and his head slightly to the side so I guess he didn't notice the fear that he had managed to instill in everyone at the table.

True. Story.
LOL, whilst I do love Charles, I completely understand and sympathise

Sup lol, yeah I did place 17th and learnt a lot =) This was the most ridiculous hardest tournament I've ever been to, pools 2 and 3 were so damn hard. In pool 3 I went close with everyone apart from m2k who I didnt take a game off (but it was mad close with puff). My matches against m2k and lucky were recorded.

My match against DoH wasnt recorded I think, he beat me on dreamland, then I went fox on PS and went all campy as hell so I won that, then he chose FD and I had my confidence back so I tried again with falcon and he got 3 stocked.
Next I had Hax who I had to falcon ditto which I dreaded cause of already doing that stupid matchup on the saturday before (its horrid) and lost fair and square, I kept getting cornered and he had the momentum so I practically gave up near the end.

I wasn't being too bad keeping in mind what people think of me I tried my best to keep cool with everyone and had fun. Just ignore that one guy he's prob mad (u mad!)

anyway im back in london tomorrow 7am, I leave in 2 hours (20 hour journey)

I cant remember but it was a bunch of spacies and virtualvoid (IC) who I all beat with fox pretty soildly

against Mango I did alright but he clearly had the lead the whole time. He was playing pretty seriously too with fox.

First game was close as hell with falcon on Yoshi I think..or Battlefield, second game I stayed falcon and got 4 stocked on battlefield (lmao), last game I decided to give another shot on battlefield with marth and it suprised me that I could've actually won that game. With marth it felt exactly like playing against prof, the same tactics were working on Mango somehow. If I hadnt died at some stupid low % first stock because I was nervous and didnt miss this one certain edgeguard by a tiny bit I would've taken that game =/.

When I'm back dont expect me to stay falcon and I know you called it already lol

this can easily be translated into 'i'll beat prof when we next play' /forcedbeef

LOL Of course I called you changing character....im never wrong and I know what your like, not sure if you're going to switch back to your main or actually stay bcos your the most indecisive human on Earth...

And I haven't actually been playing that much lately and when I do play it's never seriously...so if I do win after all that training with the best in the world then lulz....

well the thing is prof I used 5 chars at genesis and they all played out how I needed them to

nearly all my pools matches in round 2 and 3 were with fox unless I was sure falcon was gonna work against the player

If its winning me tournament matches I dont see where its bad lol

watched that ^^ i know practically all falcos techs i just mean like stuff to improve stage movement and things like that in genral what i should do with falco like spacxing and what not? also another thing does it matter if i use X instead of Y becasue Y is closer to B but im more used to using X or eithers fine?

It doesnt matter, just as long as you're quick enough to do what you need to do with Falco then X or Y shouldnt matter, I use to jump up doubles laser from the edge but thats just cos it feels more comfortable too...so yeah there's not really a set way to do anything, just whats easier and better for you...and I would advising watching videos cos I personally cant really advise that very well over the computer.

Like matches of Dr.PP falco

Yeah definitely, you should try and play some of us lot then since you live in Beckton....there's a smasher who live in Lewisham which you could get the DLR to and play with him occasionally...since playing by yourself is limiting, the best progression is to play against people

im tempted to try stick with fox and marth cause that seems to be working the best

then use falcon for floaties

If I stick with this decision then Im gonna practise fox and marth a lot

Honestly Charles if you feel like doing an M2K and having 3 chars to switch depending on matchups etc is what can get you the best results then that's fine.

People tend to think in general that sticking with 1 will always be best in the end but it doesn't work for everyone so do what you think will work best for you. I'm really looking forward to watching all your recorded matches :)

Me and Joeman should now be attending this (just waiting for him to confirm). Hope the turnout is good. VA I guess you're not coming? I'd like to play you if you do it's been a while. And Prof I also didn't get any friendlies with you last tourney so that'd be good.

And AD I'm happy to MM, though not for much - that goes for any MMs,
I'm poor lol.

Correct. I graduate on Friday and will be getting massacred in the evening. Not to mention that other thing.

Oh and P.S. I got asked to submit my dissertation to be considered for publication in a new anthropology journal my university are releasing. I did so yesterday. *fingers crossed*

I notice you didn't request to MM me, any reason? :troll:

Short hop consistently and commit less frequently, you'll get out for sure then. GL.

And honestly Unreal you are really good, you def need to prove it sometime lol.

When I'm back dont expect me to stay falcon and I know you called it already lol
Breaking news!

ive started to play melee again, any tips how to get my falco better likestage movement or things that i could practice? or just things in genaral which i could do to get better?
Read the stickies here: http://www.smashboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111

While alone: Watch videos, try to understand why top Falco players do things and work on your movement/consistency a lot. I think that practicing movement is one of the most important things to do, it seriously opens up so many options to you and it really helps you to be far more aware of what's happening.

Practice full wavelands on each stage, empty hop wavelands, shine wavelands, lasering around platforms while moving (isai drops etc.), ledgecancels, also practice ledgedashing onto the stage and onto platform stages like yoshi's story, ledgedashing is very very good.

btw I'd suggest participating even if you don't feel that you're good enough, tournament experience is really important.

well the thing is prof I used 5 chars at genesis and they all played out how I needed them to

nearly all my pools matches in round 2 and 3 were with fox unless I was sure falcon was gonna work against the player
If you're thinking of changing characters, using a few and practicing with them like you said in your other post then fair enough lol.

>i'm finding brawl a bit boring
>mains meta knight

my friend, there is your problem. pick someone fun
What? He's the only fun character in brawl :troll:

I got asked to submit my dissertation to be considered for publication in a new anthropology journal my university are releasing. I did so yesterday. *fingers crossed*
Good luck. :>

I'm half-trolling because it's a common opinion, but I genuinely find him to be the most fun character to play in Brawl. Ah, the wonders of subjectivity...
