Game 1: 2. Phoenix Wright (Just because.) Game 2: 3. Professor Layton (Shovel Knight MUST be destroyed for defeating Lloyd, plus I like Layton better.) Game 3: 2. Simon Belmont (I like Castlevania more.) Game 4: 1. Crash Bandicoot (YES.)
Game 1: Phoenix Wright. Let's throw in a lawyer in Smash! And since he beat Tails, he shouldn't fail him.
Game 2: Shovel Knight. I have no idea how Layton would play in Smash while it's simple to guess a guy with a shovel.
Game 3: Rayman. That trophy's gotta mean something, right?
Game 4: Crash Bandicoot, my childhood.
Wow, this bracket is going by rather fast, isn't it?
Bomberman Vs. Crash is again a ridiculously difficult one. I'd vote Crash over Layton or Banjo easily. Crash keeps ending up against opponents I love and next round will be no different with Rayman. D'oh.
This is the only third party in the bracket that I love and I thought there would be more. The guest list turned out to be way different than I was anticipating.
Game 2: Professor Layton
There's not a lot of indies I like enough to see in Smash. Frisk and Julianne Stingray are it. Both are pipe dreams even though they're the leads of well-liked games in the indie world. God, the content those two would bring. It's depressing. Anyway, Shovel Knight doesn't do anything for me.
Game 3: Rayman
I settled on Rayman because Simon is about the dullest option for Castlevania I can think of. Richter Belmont, Soma Cruz, Alucard and Shanoa are all more interesting. I even liked their games more than Simon's. Rondo of Blood, Aria of Sorrow, Symphony of the Night and Order of Ecclesia all dunk on Super Castlevania IV.
Game 4: Bomberman
I chose Bomberman because I like stage control characters.
So, after thinking about it, I have decided against doing a combined first party and third party bracket. That being said, what do you guys think about doing a most wanted veterans bracket (including cut characters)? Disregarding Pokemon Trainer, counting Squirtle, Ivysaur, Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner and everyone else as separate fighters gets you 65 characters total. There'd be one preliminary round for a bracket slot between 2 of the Mii Fighters (with the other Mii Fighter being on the opposite side of the bracket).
I haven't planned any matchups besides that one. This was an idea I just thought of. Also, keep in mind that this would be a most wanted veteran bracket, so it would be who you WANT to see, not who you think is more likely to return. So if it was Pichu VS Sheik, you could vote for Pichu if that is who you WANT more.
Just an idea. Not sure if I'd even go through with it, nor am I even sure what I should do for matchups.
I’d be game for a veteran bracket. Sure, it’s not as exciting as a newcomer bracket, but it’d be certainly interesting see where people fall on certain Smash alumni, like Greninja, Rosalina or Robin.
Other than that, a retro reps bracket and a fourth party bracket might be good ideas (the latter is not something I’d personally like but an idea nonetheless).

Right off the bat, there are some pretty big matchups. Tried to keep it interesting with big matchups in the beginning, but some potential for more big ones in later rounds too. Once again, if anyone has any thoughts, please let me know!!
There are a few matchups that seems a bit lopsided, like Pit v. Dark Pit or Pikachu v. Pichu. All in all it’s a pretty good bracket though, and a lot of the showdowns already interest me.
Maybe you could lump all three Mii Fighters into one slot? It seems like that would be the best way to not exclude any of them. If it matters, I think Swordfighters are the most popular of the three, although I prefer Brawler.
Game 1: 1. Banjo & Kazooie defeated 2. Phoenix Wright by a score of 36-8 Game 2: 1.Shovel Knight defeated 3. Professor Layton by a score of 23-20 Game 3: 1.Rayman defeated 2. Simon Belmont by a score of 24-20 Game 4: 1. Crash Bandicoot defeated 2. Bomberman by a score of 25-19
Three of these games were relatively close, but the top seeds came out in the end. Despite finally facing a serious opponent, Banjo still squashed the competition.
And here are your semifinals. May the best characters win!

Before the official voting starts, there will be ONE qualifying round to vote on, which is between 2 of the Mii Fighters.
Mii Sword Fighter VS Mii Gunner- The winner would be inducted into round 1 and then the tournament actually begins. I picked these 2 because they seemed to be the least popular of the three. If anyone disagrees, let me know! There will definitely be one qualifying round though and it will definitely only be between 2 Mii Fighters.

Game 1: Banjo & Kazooie
Not close for me to bother explaining.
Game 2: Crash Bandicoot
Neither's moveset blows me away, but they are both deserving... Crash moreso, probably. Rayman's reveal would have me nodding and saying, "Yeah, that makes sense." Crash's would have me go, "Yo! Mario's biggest rival not named Sonic is in Smash! Sony's old mascot! Who would have thought?" So yeah, I'll go with Crash.
Game 1: Banjo Kazooie
I think shovel Knight is more likely but I want banjo more.
Game 2: Rayman
I like crash but Rayman deserves it more after that bs sakurai pulled of giving him three trophies and not a playable spot for no explainable reason. Hands down my most wanted character

All 4 would make excellent additions, but Ive rooted for Rayman since the pre launch Smash 4 days and Banjo Kazooie is still one of my top 3 games of all time!

I've been surprised at the amount of hate/indifference towards Rayman. Because of it, I expect this to be his last round. Had my doubts about Crash, thought he didn't deserve that seed over Bomberman, but I guess he proved me wrong. Amazed how his support skyrocketed after his games ended up on Nintendo again. Shovel Knight only got this far because of a lucky bracket imo.

Banjo & Crash for me. Banjo seems pretty self explanatory, and Crash would be much more hype (and while Rayman’s games are great, as a protag he’s kinda vanilla).

Both of their movesets are pretty boring, but at least Rayman's isn't mostly a bunch of crates.

this is unfortunate, since i really would like both of them. but Banjo is hands down my most wanted so he gets my votes all the wa to the end.

I'm not too hyped for either as a potential Smash candidate honestly, but I feel Crash has greater star power and would generate more hype.
