You'd think that'd be a given, but the amount of "who"s makes me think people aren't interested in any of the characters that they don't already know.
...Yeah. Smash Bros. is, for many people, a gathering of video game icons and a celebration of Nintendo history. If a character is more of an icon or has more to do with Nintendo, I think they should be in first. I want those who deserve it to be in because I like that integrity Smash has.
Most of the "literally who" characters went against characters I actually care for, so I couldn't be bothered to do that.
Seems to me that using the same characters would probably end up yielding pretty similar results. We’d get the top 2 from each bracket as the new top 4 and that’s that.
Well, Geno would have made a lot more sense for this bracket than the previous two brackets because of his ownership torn between Nintendo and Square Enix. And KOS-MOS as a Monolith Xeno character bought by Nintendo would be a gray area-party character fit for a mixed bracket.
No there's no grey area for KOS-MOS she belongs to Namco as does Xenosaga.
I don't care much about any of these characters and probably wouldn't bother participating.
Not necessarily a problem if it is what you are going for, but are you trying to stage the game so that first parties make the Final Four in the upper brackets and third parties make it in the bottom two? Because the matchups certainly seem stacked that way to me, particularly in the top left (heavily skewed for first-party) and bottom right (heavily skewed for third-party). The fact that you have the third parties to be listed first in the bottom regions seem to suggest that as well.
