I really like the way this is all turning out.
I think It'd also be a good idea to add a list of characters and where they as a way to help newcomers get ideas for people to rui- I mean, write about.
Chapter 31: Cloaca Maxima
Cutter looked into the newly opened passage. His eyes looked into a very faintly-lit tunnel, with torches at just above his height, burning quite weakly. This area must be very rarely checked, if that, he thought. Prying one of the torches from the adorning wall, Cutter began to make his way through the corridor. He started to pick up the pace, but then slowed himself down on reaction.
No. I can't risk it. What if this area is booby trapped like the rest of the palace? The realization then had him at odds with another conscience in his body. If he did play it safe and cautious, the dungeon guards will know sooner or later that Cutter escaped, and with him making little progress in this unknown region, he would be swiftly caught and be completely at the mercy of the Queen.
There's no turning back. If I'm caught, Queen Killjoy is going to torture me as long as she wants. I would rather die quickly to some random booby trap than suffer exactly what Frown went through.
Coming to his final decision, Cutter started to jog through the dim corridor. He could feel his metal-augmented body respond well to his actions that his brain was telling it to do, and a small bit of confidence started to brim slightly in his heart.
He then approached what appeared to be a dead end, but pausing for the moment, Cutter could hear something... as if it were flowing constantly. He knelt down and put his ear to the floor. Sure enough, it was the sound of water. Crawling closer and closer forward, the sound of it began to get slightly louder, until he was right at the lip of the floor. Cutter's heart skipped slightly as his eyes were trained on what looked like a steady moving stream of murky water underneath at the miniature cliff. A makeshift metal ladder was attached to the descending shaft below.
Before he could do anything else, a slightly foul stench filled the air, sinking right into Cutter's nose. The realization hit him. It was a secret path that led right to the sewers of Queen Killjoy's palace. This was it. If he just followed the path of the water, it would lead him out of the palace and he would be free.
With his confidence at an all-time high, Cutter began to descend down the ladder, his metal hand grasping very firmly to the torch he still had and using his normal right hand to go down. His feet plunged into the sewage as he grimaced slightly. For all he knew, this could have been from the Queen's royal bathroom. Attempting to get rid of that disgusting thought out of his head, Cutter began to follow the path of the sewage flow. Trying his best to mentally block out the putrid smell that filled the wide, circular stone tunnel, Cutter began to concentrate again on just escaping.
The tunnel just kept moving in a straight line. It then widened significantly as Cutter could see all kinds of small pipes protrude out of the walls, all dumping their collective sewage into the one main stream Cutter was in. It didnt take long for the depth of the sewage to rise from just barely wading to calf-deep as he continued in what was certainly an exit out of this nightmare of a palace.
Chapter 32: Mind, Magic, and Myth
After observing Project Masamune, Dr. Lythium takes out what seemed like a blueprint drafted on a scroll. It was no ordinary scroll, however. It almost seemed ancient, as if it was a page torn from a grimoire. There was no doubt that it had magical properties to it. She flattens the blueprint on a metal table and begins reviewing it.
"There is no time for making revisions, doctor", says Caotic impatiently. "We've prolonged this project long enough, and I imagine Her Majesty cannot wait any longer. It's time Chaco and I did our part."
"This is not something that can be rushed, Minister Caotic. Science requires precise analysis and experimentation. It isn't some spell you can cook up just by thinking about it," she replies.
"Have you forgotten? This isn't just about experiments. You cannot rely on hypotheses and scientific methods. The core of Project Masamune is divine power. Science and magic are merely stepping stones of it all."
Caotic detested the laws of science, and he wasn't very fond of sorcery either. He was a devout believer in the goddess Miss Yuna. He believed that all elements of SWF derived from her holy power.
"Step aside."
"I will NOT."
"Step ASIDE. You are done. We will perform our prayer to Miss Yuna after the vessel is put back in the cell."
"Do you really think that will work? You are going down on your knees to ask some woman in the sky to grant power to a machine? This doesn't make any sense. What is the queen's goal with this?!"
"You dare question the queen's method?!" Caotic interjected.
"Who do you really serve? Your queen or your goddess? The queen's plan may not even be in favor with this Miss Yuna. We'll see if your imaginary mistress even bothers complying with a chunk of metal."
"BLASPHEMY!!!" Caotic strikes Lythium across her face with his scepter, knocking her down, as well as her glasses. She reaches to find her glasses, but Caotic reaches it first, crushing them with his boot.
"Perhaps seeing is believing with you scientists. Why don't you try reaching down in that unanointed soul of yours and seek what the truth really is?"
Chaco maintains his silence as he watches the altercation as it ends.
"W-what...what do you know about the project?" Lythium says as she hyperventilates. "Why does it seem like I am the only one who doesn't know what the result will be if Masamune is used on Frown? I have a right to know! I am NOT just a puppet in all this."
"All you must know is that you've done your part. Guard! Escort the professor to her quarters." Caotic commands.
"I'm afraid I cannot, minister." The prison guard snickers.
"What?! Obey me!"
"Sorry, buuuuuut I have a date....with DESTINY. Kekekeke."
"You fool! You will be smote for your defiance!" Caotic prepares an offensive spell. A ball of flame and light materialized from his empty hand. "Feel the fiery passion of Miss Yuna, heathen! BURNING SPHERE!"
The ball projected toward the guard, only to be absorbed into the palm of his hand.
"What...what IS this!? How?!" Caotic interjects with confusion. He looked toward Chaco, who looked just as mystified.
"Can't let you do that, minister," the guard says nonchalantly. "Now the REEEEEEAAAAL fun begins!" he says lifting his hands and head toward the ceiling. Suddenly, he jerks his hand toward Caotic, and a jagged chain shimmering with blood red light jolted from his palm and entangles Caotic's body like a boa constrictor.
"Gaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!" Caotic screams in agony and fear. Lythium and Chaco can feel a dark atmosphere generating in the room. It was as if a hurricane was occurring. It was literally taking their breath away.
"Ooooh does it huuurt? Why don't you try calling out to that 'woman in the sky'? Bahaha. I can feel her weeping down at your anguish. Yes, my dear doctor, Miss Yuna is very real, she is just utterly useless at the moment. She can't interfere when another god's work is at hand! This ROOM just isn't big enough for the BOTH us. Guahahahaaaa!"
He was insane. There wasn't a time he didn't sound maniacal.
"Who is he?! WHAT is he?!" Lythium questions toward Chaco.
"It can't be." He was afraid to admit who the sinister being was. Chaco didn't want it to be true, but it needed to be said.
"It's Tyciol. The God of Guile."
"Ding ding DING! Correct! One point to the believer! I've derailed long enough. YOU, sir, are the weakest 'link'. Good bye!"
Tyciol slings Caotic's paralyzed body into a black and red vortex, which lead to a dimensional prison in Tyciol's mind.
"I just LOVE making new friends! Everyone! Meet Minister Caotic! You can pray all you wish, but don't expect any divine intervention to save you any time soon!" Tyciol's voice suddenly grew deep and sinister.
"Now then. Onto Project Masamune! " He snaps his fingers and Frown's weak body warps inside the cell.
"So, professor, you wish to know the power of Masamune?"
Lythium was too astonished to say anything.
"I'll enlighten you." Tyciol conjures up a dark crystal, which began to project images of the past. It served as a slideshow as he explains the purpose of Masamune.
"I am quite sure you know, but the queen seeks power beyond the strength of man. Science and magic are two of the most powerful earthly elements that humans ever thought of. Science brings forth technology, which is used to develop various weaponry suited for war, while magic is used to discombobulate the enemy and conjure up powerfully offensive spells.
But she wanted MORE! The queen will stop at nothing to gain absolute control over all. Such ambition! Such fervor! Such AVARICE! I love it! However, she is merely a puppet in this play. This clumsy assassin was to be used as a vessel for the power of the gods!
The queen is a fool! She thought that if these priests were to call on the divine strength of Miss Yuna, she will grant them the power to awaken the Masamune! What idiocy! Her Majesty knows NOTHING of theology! Fortunately, Tyciol is heeeeeeere! This body you see doesn't belong to me. Gods are unable to exist on SWF without a host of some sorts. And even with this guard as a vessel, it won't last long. But Masamune! The knowledge of man prevails yet AGAIN!!!! With this remarkable machine, your friendly neighborhood god will be able spend quality time with his FANS! It is only a matter of time before the queen starts kneeling to MY power! Grahahahahaaa!"
Did I secretly find some sort of hidden passage? I'm trying to figure out how I'd be seeing and listening to all of this when I'm deep in the sewers of the Queen's palace.
Or maybe the pipes have ****ty acoustics and are hollow as hell.
This made my day.![]()
Edit: Remember back at The Escape Plan chapter. Cutter had it planned the whole time. All this didn't happen back to back. Eventually, he would have encountered a way to enter the research lab.

I think we need to turn a few characters into redshirts...
Some one should also keep track of any and all plot holes/unresolved plot pointsKeep in mind though, that in that chapter it said there was no telling where the hidden passage could have gone to. But hey as you said, anything goes in this story.
Maybe I'm just not getting something unless I misread that chapter somehow >_>
EDIT:Chapter 33: Puppet of a mad god.
There's just something about going through Hell with someone that guarantees near-instant friendship. This is what can clearly be seen with Cutter and Frown, and was the only reason why the metal man was risking the wrath of a god to save the man named after an expression. The sewers could have gone anywhere, but it must have been the hand of something otherworldly that led him to a room in which he overheard everything. Cutter was ready to strike with his sword, to slay this monster who claims to be a god. But something told him to hold back, Tyciol began laughing madly after his speech and said, "Now, do you want to see a parlor trick that your dear Miss Yuna could never even dream of!?" He charged at Frown at what appeared to be inhuman speed, and embedded the crystal into his chest.
"THE SHOW'S ABOUT TO BEGIN!"
Cutter knew that he need to act now, otherwise Yuna only knows what would happen to his friend. Cutter raised his blade and charged at Tyciol, who's back was turned. But he did not succeed at slaying his enemy. At inhuman speed, Tyciol grabbed Cutter's face and slammed all of the once-proud warrior's body into the side of the machine using only one arm. "Excellent!" Exclaimed Tyciol, "Now I don't need to use the energy of my host to bring the glory of Masamune!" Cutter felt Tyciols grip increase in strength, it steadily became stronger and stronger until he was crushing Cutter's skull. But that was the least of the poor man's worries. Cutter didn't even feel his skull getting crushed, he was to busy screaming from the pain of having his very soul torn asunder, being used to power some sort of machine. He could have sworn he heard Frown screaming with more pain than he was, and could have sworn that he hear Tyciol laughing even loader.
Demonic power swirled around the room, destroying all that it touched. Those who were unfortunate enough to simply be in the room witnessed demons and monstrosities the likes of which man was never meant to see. Then, all went dark, as if all of reality simply stopped. Then all became light once more, the guard that was Tyciol's host and Cutter both lied in a pool of blood and what appeared to be some sort of celestial equivalent. Frown opened his eyes, where were now pools of murky lifelessness causally and constantly shifting color.
"Now," said Frown in a voice that sounded like Cutter's, Tyciol's, his own and a fourth entity. "If you'll excuse me, I have to make myself presentable before the Queen." He walked out of the room as if they had had a simple conversation, nothing more. There was silence, for no one had anything to say. Until Lythium sincerely said, "Miss Yuna, help us all..."
... should we just call my chapter non-cannon now?cutter and I have agreed that cutter's involvement in my chapter will be removed due to potential chapters.
Edit: That's funny because Tyciol is supposed to be based off Doctor Cid from FF12 and Kefka. Good stuff, finalark. lol![]()
It's alright. I think right now we just need to decide if it's cannon or not.Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~
Sorry, Finalark. lolol![]()
Dr. Nafarious said:Part of me wants to let you live long enough to find out. The other part, really wants to kill you.

Help?
You'll probably have to update it pretty often.Actually, I think I'm going put together a newb's guide to this story. Then if Jam says it's okay, he can post a link to it in the OP.
I have plenty of time to just add in a new paragraph summarizing the story. I type fast (and I'm working on it as we speak). You'll probably have to update it pretty often.
i read it as 'Tyciol kills Frown and cutter with Masamune, which is just standing there'
uhhh...
As my friends have told me time and time again, PLEASE READ WHAT YOU WRITE BEFORE YOU PUBLISH IT.I'm confused? are project Masamune, Frown, Cutter, and Tyciol fused or what?
thank you.As my friends have told me time and time again, PLEASE READ WHAT YOU WRITE BEFORE YOU PUBLISH IT.
I'm going to go back and make sense of all of that now...
I made some minor edits, it's still is kind of "what the hell just happened" but I think that's part of the point.thank you.
Edit: please let us know when you've changed it
Did it? Did it not (your soul, that is)? Let's leave it up to the next guy to decide this.My soul got killed but not my body?
This seem to be "pick on Frown week," doesn't it?Hell no. I want more misfortune before this story ends.
Maybe. We'll see what the next writer decides, eh?for finalark's eyes only
so is the fourth entity Masamune?
