really excited about goin to this on the 31st shud be really amazing.
jus wanted to ask about a few stages... brinstar and rainbow cruise doesnt seem to be on the list, is it banned or counterpick?
and jus my opinion...
if mario circuit is counter, then so shud norfair (and brinstar) =)
skyworld shud be banned
rainbow cruise shud be counter =)

ya is mario circuit is a counter then norfair and rainbow cruise shud definately be counterpicks. cant wait for thiss event , its gonna be so much fun =D. Oh im curious, i know at combo breaker there were no pools but is there going to be pools this time?

Brinstar and Rainbow Cruise are both counterpick. No Fair is staying banned.
And yes we will be having pools. We're spectulating 40 people to show up so we will have 8 pools of 5 with the top 4 progressing into brackets.
This is going to be immense.

Only because most team matches were delayed for a bunch of reasons like the players in the team had single matches to deal with etc. Brawl teams are epic, more teams the better!

Don't worry, I'm sure tons of people will sign up for teams. Just keep your cool and get your matches done when I ask and this will run smoothly.

I really would like to come to this, just to see Niagara play, and give some support for Sauga. But Smashturbation is going on that day, and I wanna help out with their tournament prep for Georgia. Next time there is a huge thing going on, I'll come by.

That stage is beautifully built. Norfair on the other hand should have 8x less ledges and it'd be good.

Brinstar is a stable counterpick. The tentacles and mush being there/being destroyed adds a spice to the pace of the game, while the Lava does almost nothing to change the pace of a match. It's fine lol.

LOL personally I would be able to play melee for a looong *** time more if the random stages were like " Mute City, Brinstar, Donkey Kong 64 and Pokefloats" hell... it doesn't matter which character I'm playing, I enjoy matches on those stages a million times more. Except for a good old doubles match on FD.

Once again, says the Jiggs main. I kid, Mute and Brin are the only good Jiggs levels in that bunch anyway. But I agree, I remember watching Imadh's Falcon vs Noah's Fox on DK64 at Smashturbation. Man, it was an epic match.
But some counterpicks like Corneria and Japes are gimmicky, but for the boring reasons. Like lawl laser camping on Japes. >_> It's only useful to force a Marth main to swap.

I know Dejana, but she's giving other people a ride too, so I don't know how it'll work out. I'll find out soon.
Anyways, the costs are confusing me.
10$ to enter, 5$ for venue fee. What about food/drink? Does everyone just go and buy their own?

Does anybody need a partner for doubles?
Also for the crew battles, for the lulz we should tell anybody whos not in a crew to just go ahead and form groups of 5, so all the scrubs can play in the crew battles too it would be a fun experiance for everybody, especially new players who aren't in a crew or have never been in a crew battle.

Crew battles work with each team having the same number of players, 5 for example.
The matches are 1v1, Each crew chooses who they're going to send out first. Those two players fight. Say the winning player finished with 2 stock left. The winning player goes on to the next round, and the loosing player's crew picks the next member of their team to go up (counterpicking people basically). Then when the match starts, the player than finished with 2 stock in the last round, kills himself once, so he has 2 stocks. Then the match starts from there. Its like everybody is sharing from a pool of stock.
Theres some additional rules about stages and character selection and what not.

Well there already is the one toronto grew with Runaway Ambrose and JL, and whoever else they bring, plus niagara has their own crew, but for those not in crews or just coming for fun (like some of the locals will be) its not hard to find 4 people.
