Christmas has been chucking me around the place (half of my family isn't Jewish so I get to celebrate both ) but I should be able to get grades going again now. :3

So not to be rude, but can you give us a ballpark guess as to when you'll be finished?

Nah man that's fine, though all of the judges are having a pretty tumultuous time at the moment with chrissie and new years stuff pulling us all around. I'm getting an entry or two done in between things, so if I can stay constant I should be able to get mine done within the next few days (if not you guys can shoot me like usual)!

For instance, my favorite songs in the Sonic series are darker or more industrial, which doesn't really fit all to well on the cheery green stages that tend to represent the series. So, that prompts me to come up with:

Now that Star is a casual judge, we have the ability to switch in and out to be more versatile in the case of Rl emergencies. I was switched out this round but very unfortunately tumblr couldn't be here at this time so swamp asked me back in. I'm doing violenceman's entry atm and gosh I must say, i'm marking you guys really well this round because it's hard not to (with Galaxy there's only so far you can stray off the beaten path/track. Other judges are marking harder to compensate, I just decided my range of marks will be a little closer). Expect lots of high scores! I'll actually include some marker's notes at the end of my grades to give you an idea of some recurring things I found, my marking scale this time and those kinds of things.

Sometime i'll also get that Spirit Tracks 'dream entry' done. I was doing it a while ago when my internet crashed and died. =/

Yeah.

Things will take a while. I have been doing things little by little and still have a ton of users to grade.
It doesn't help that Christmas got in the way, that I have exams next month, this round had a larger than usual amount of participants, among others.

I included a few 'marker's notes' down at the very bottom of my grades so do feel free to check them out when you've received your mark. Everyone got pretty high scores and to induce some hype, someone in this round received a perfect score from me and somebody else came intensely close with a 39.

The average for my scores this round was probably about 36/37 though.

Well, I'm more than happy to lose to any tracklist on here. To be honest, many of them are really good and made it hard to choose just one. And other than the Rainbow Road medley, I enjoyed yours a lot, especially Storm the X-Naut Fortress.

In hindsight, I feel stupid for not including buoy base galaxy in my tracklist. It completely slipped my mind.

For one, it dosn't belong on a Mario stage (it should be on Wily's Castle, a different Mega Man stage, or a Smash original stage like Final Destination). For another, the judges specifically said it wouldn't fly with them, so he has very little chance of winning. But other than that and Rainbow Road, his list was pretty good.

No, it's more "Theme from video game developed by Capcom" on "Capcom themed stage" makes more sense than "Theme from video game developed by Capcom" on Mario Galaxy. And even still, you're pushing it because Capcom doesn't own all the rights.

Though I want to be optimistic and believe that Sakurai and Capcom could go the distance and be that awesome, Swamp is most likely correct. We'll see Sonic and Mega Man content, but no other Sega or Capcom content.

Speaking of which, I'm glad that this is probably true. I mean, I like, say, NiGHTS music as much as the next guy, but for every awesome Sonic track I'd miss out on because some unrepresented series stole its place, I'd die a little inside. Well, that's exaggerating, but you get the point.

Oh god this song…

Listening to this song and watching that scene always wants to make me go on the verge of tears, even when watching a Let's Play or something. Just seeing all of those characters cheer and support Mario during the darkest hour actually made me cry as a kid. I even loved how Luigi showed his support by saying, "YOU GO BRO!". That scene and music alone just motivates you to defeat the Shadow Queen and save Peach. I love The Thousand Year Door… that game was absolutely incredible.
