The most corrupt country ever, except most others.
I found Throwback Galaxy fitting. Certainly more fitting than the overworld theme for 3D World, but your mileage may vary. There's probably going to be an NSMBWii/3D World stage on the Wii U version anyway.
I think both Throwback and the 3D World themes would fit better on the 3DS Mario stage or the 3D World stage we're most likely getting.

I suppose I did put it off. Oh well. And Swamp, I'm loving your new avi.
PS: Everyone better have put Throwback Galaxy in there.
I would honestly be shocked if we didn't get a 3D World or NSMBU stage on the Wii U, so I would save Throwback Galaxy for one of one of them.

If there will be another Mario stage, I really hope they don't make a 3D World/NSMBU stage.

3D World is made too recently, IMO, to be granted a stage rep, especially when the 3DS Mario stage is already a blend of NSMB and 3D Land. (I know Windy Hill Zone is from the recently new Sonic game, but, contracts.)

If anything, they need to give deserved attention to a Mario series that hasn't been represented as a stage (or via playable character.) Mario & Luigi RPG and Paper Mario being good examples.
Also, people are writhing for a Bowser Castle stage.

I kind of agree with you on the recency thing, but you say that like Mario will have a heavily limited number of stages. What exactly makes you think it's stage roster will be limited to so few? Considering that there were 4 Mario stages in Melee and 6 in Brawl (and Sakurai even commented that he wanted a significant increase in the number of stages), I would expect to see 3 or 4 in each version. That being said, I would like both versions to have a stage incorporating common Mario elements like blocks and warp pipes, considering it's been a tradition for so long and has made for some really unique stages in the past. A 3D World or NSMBU stage would be a good way to do that IMO, although another "throwback" stage to one of the first 3 SMB games would be just as welcome to me.

I think a stage based off of NSMBWii, NSMBU, and 3D World is worthy of being in the game. The visual style is very traditional for the Mario series compared to Galaxy. Furthermore, NSMBWii brought 4 player multiplayer to Mario 2D platformers and 3D World brought 4 player multiplayer to Mario 3D platformers. While people mock these games sometimes, they have accomplished quite a bit for the Mario franchise.

The main reason why I really want such a stage is to separate the inferior NSMBWii music from the NSMB stage on the 3DS version. Seriously, NSMB's OST is fantastic and should have been the soundtrack that got recycled in the sequels. The Sound Director changed from Koji Kondo to someone else for NSMBWii and the difference in quality is great.

I don't remember reading anything about more stages. Where did you read that?

I'm just taking the mindset that Sakurai won't treat SSB4 as Brawl in including as much bloating fan content as much as possible. Especially when SSB4 was thought to release in Spring (which was deconfirmed, thank god.)

Hey! NSMB Wii's music is fantastic, some of the best Mario music of all time! Of course, I love NSMB's soundtrack as well and think that NSMB2 should have updated it instead of reusing the Wii music at times, but I can't complain too much.

It just makes me mad that the music went from this to this. And this to this. Granted, NSMBWii's music is not terrible. I even like the Beach Overworld theme. However, NSMB's soundtrack has some SM64-quality tracks, and they are routinely forgotten. I cannot forgive that very easily.

Ugh. I'd hate to have both a 3D World and 3D Land/NSMB stage. Too similar in aesthetic, plus that's just too much recent game representation. I'd rather we see a Mario stage from a game not released in the past few years, like a new take on Super Mario 64.

It wouldn't be so bad if they're separated by console, but I'd still prefer that not happen. If it has to happen, then at least have the 3D World stage be specifically "Bowser's Castle" as seen in 3D World.

We need a Bowser's Castle stage. I'm surprised that we haven't gotten one yet.

I'm indifferent on a NSMB stage. It would be cool I suppose.

Although I personally don't mind the Desert music, the Castle theme for New Super Mario Bros. is LEGENDARY. Yet, I still adore the Wii castle music, it's pretty good. I don't see why people bash it, I actually used it as my ominous "villain" theme for the Mario Galaxy stage. Yet, a Bowja's CAAAASTLE stage is long overdue.

Speaking of Mario stages, a question popped in my head for everyone.

What stage would you choose to represent Paper Mario and/or the Mario & Luigi RPG series respectively? I think it's a tough one to answer. For me...

M&L RPG: Inside Bowser's Body is the main concept I have in my head. The only problem is how do you get Bowser to fight inside himself... I'm not sure what other level could fit well. I imagine Beanbean Kingdom or Dream World (from Dream Team) could pass as other stage ideas too.

Paper Mario: This series probably has more locations to offer. Shooting Star Summit. Bowser's Flying Fortress. Rogueport. Glitzville. Flipside. Sammer's Kingdom. Castle Bleck. To name a few.

For M&L... I'm gonna say.... the Dream world.

For Paper Mario it's gotta be the stage from the Thousand Year Door!

Mario & Luigi: Inside Bowser. Because who cares about Bowserception?

Paper Mario: The Glitz Pit.

I've been hoping for a Luigi's Dream stage on the 3DS version. You could use Dreamy Luigi's abilities to make some really interesting stage hazards that could really capture the silliness the Mario & Luigi series is known for.

Edit: Looks like Swamp beat me to it on this one.

I wish they would go for a stage based on The Stage from Thousand Year Door. The crowd throwing helpful items to the winning players and harmful items to the losing ones, powerful attacks knocking down lights and pieces of the backdrop, and the fog machine occasionally making it hard to see could make for a very fun and interesting stage. Alternatively, they could represent Super Paper Mario with a Flipside stage. It could take place on the tower, and throughout the battle new objects from the various worlds of the game would be drawn as platforms and obstacles.

Mario & Luigi: Luigi's Dreams. The Dream World is absolutely creative and I bet that there would be fun stage gimmicks and beautiful scenery.

Paper Mario: The Stage from The Thousand Year Door. I would love to have the background of the stage to randomly fall down at times and hit fighters.

Haven't there already been like 3 different stages that took elements from Mario 64 in past Smash games? If it must be an older stage, I'd rather see something from Super Mario Bros 3, considering it's the only one of the original NES games that hasn't been represented yet and it's arguably the most popular among the fanbase.

SM64 was just an example, and I'd love to see a SMB3 stage myself as well.

Looking at 3D World, there is probably a way to do that would represent both series in a rather unique way... I wish I could say more, but spoilers prevent me from doing so.

Paper Mario's OSTs are phenomenal, and are one main reason why I want the character to get in.

Mario & Luigi: Somnom Woods, the most iconic and breathtaking place in ML:DT. It could vhange between Dream World and Real World.

Paper Mario: The Whoa Zone

I'd argue with you there.

Somnon has great music, but it's not the most iconic place.

The place where you board the elevator made a pretty big impression on me, it was beautiful with its particle effects and weird flora

I hate to sound impatient, but... how long does grading usually take?
Well...

We have a couple of hitches in the works....

Some judges have real big personal problems and some have disappeared....

Things might take a long time this time around....

Problems sound like the usual now since the last 3 rounds... not that I'm being cheeky about it.

I was expecting a bit of a delay around this time in any case. It's a week from Christmas after all.

It doesn't help that this round is probably the biggest amount of participants yet, right?
