It's safe to say we were ALL caught off-guard today.
Makes me wonder. If they DO have a Rainbow Road stage in the works, I wonder if they were better off revealing that a month ago in place of Mario Galaxy. It would've been all the more fitting to reveal that stage alongside Rosalina.

I bet a Rainbow Road stage is one of the more fan-demanded ones. It's certainly a more memorable part of the Mario Kart series than Mario Circuit.

Yeah, I certainly wanted a Rainbow Road stage. I wonder what stage hazards it will have since Rainbow Road is notorious for them in Mario Kart.
Definitely the most wanted stages is Bowser's Castle and I hope that it becomes a stage soon.

I'm honestly surprised. I thought they'd consider a Rainbow Road stage too visually similar to Mario Galaxy.

Judges... please don't take points off for Rainbow Road tracks. Yes, it looks silly now, but the round ended before the stage was revealed. We had no way of seeing that coming.

Sorry if this is annoying, but how exactly do we know Rainbow Road is confirmed? I mean it seems pretty obvious that it is, but Sakurai didn't show any actual gameplay footage or screenshots of it. Just cutscene footage. This is like saying the rocky area from Mega Man's reveal trailer is confirmed as a stage. Either way though, the judges really shouldn't detract points for it. If they have to take Rainbow Road into consideration, they should reopen the round for a day or two so people can change their lists accordingly.

Yeah i'm taking back over for someone. The good news being that because I don't have school commitments I can literally get everyone's done by today/tomorrow. :-)

In all seriousness, I'm glad my choice to exclude Rainbow Road songs paid off as well. I knew we would get a Mario Kart stage. I just never expected it to be Rainbow Road. But after Mario Circuit, it is the most famous locale of the series.
But keep in mind that it's only confirmed on the 3DS version so far, not the Wii U. So having Mario Kart Wii's Rainbow Road theme on the Galaxy stage could still be plausible.

Christmas has been chucking me around the place (half of my family isn't Jewish so I get to celebrate both ) but I should be able to get grades going again now. :3
