Based on Sir Bedevere analysis, I say it's Peach.

Dsmash nerf. They totally fixed this move for Brawl. No more Dsmash suffering from Peach to others.

Peach. Nuff said. She's not the fighting type.

Peach players are trying hard to get to the top with her without the strats she had in Melee. It isn't as easy as before.

Addicted to help the other? Or...Peach was addicted to Dsmash, now she's not.

Forgetting how Melee Peach was played, learning a new fighting style.

"Memories they can't remember": the nerfs.
"The person is stupid": she is blond.
My only problem with this theory is that it can be applied to fox as well, except the not the fighting type part. Good analyisis still.

It's Ness.
"Not the fighting kind"- If I remember right, he wasn't a fighting person in Earthbound until he got caught up in the story
"and I've lost all doubt in a chemical romance"- One of my friends always makes a joke about the emo Ness costume, referring to it as "My Chemical Ness", in a reference to an emo band called My Chemical Romance. Seems to make sense that it could be a reference to it.
"Doors inside my head, bolted from within"- Again, if I remember right, Ness has to unlock his full potential- essentially opening doors within his head that had previously been sealed.

Anyone who wants to do the lines I couldn't think of stuff for, please do. (I could be extremely wrong, but it just seemed to fit too well...)

Well, post above somewhat nullifies these ideas. Oh well, I'll leave em here just in case
This sounds pretty solid.

My guess for now is Ness.

Oh dear, its probably not Olimar at least...

unless its refering to Ai no Uta, but still, I think we can cross him off. Where is the remaining charcter pic?
Why can't this poem be from Olimar's point of view? Olimar could be talking to the Pikmin. The real secret to this poem is "who is I?" "Who is we" is important too, although I'm not concerned with "who is you?", as "you" isn't a word in the poem.

Personally, I think it's Taboo talking about/to the world. He makes references to the hands, and the writer (Tabuu) seems pretty dignified. Every line could be bent to mean Tabuu in some way. therapeutic - for taboo. Not the fighting kind - doesn't like to fight himself, always the thinker, but does manipulate others to fight for him. I can't figure out "tried," but it sound like a romanticism refering to the world he tried to bring to subspace. Chemical romance - a romance, in this case, based on subspace bombs and combining worlds, I see the chemical nature. hand washing - Master hand eliminated. Doors inside my head - Does anyone understand what the deal with Tabuu is exactly?

Not to mention the poem is in the same format as the Subspace Labyrinth. - Bits and pieces of other poems, just as the labyrinth is made of bits and pieces of other worlds (or at least terrains).

Its not Wario in any shape or form.
Its hard to put Mario in it either.

the others have the rather depressing metagame/background story.

Olimar has a hard time fitting into the last 3 lines, but I guess he's still a possiblilty

I want to see Pokemon Trainer.
But then again...

I see some Olimar in this hint.
This was a therapeutic chain of events... Pikmin Chain, perhaps?
Guess I’m not the fighting kind... He sends Pikmin to fight for him!
...Will we always say we tried?
And I’ve lost all doubt in a chemical romance...
We tried to wash our hands of all of this...
Doors inside my head, bolted from within... Helmet? Yeah, it's a stretch.

Hmmmmmm...

Screw it, I'm still voting for Pokemon Trainer.

NVM i change to Olimar.
wash his hands...

Once "barrel roll" became bigger, well, it became pretty obvious.

Here are all of Overswarms posts since about after #25 was revealed. I also had Samurai saying it would take a bit of setup so maybe they weren't finished yet. A couple other people were excited about this week.

Overswarm is obviously waiting for us to figure something out, when they might post another hint. The *giggles like a schoolgirl* I found interesting because it came right after X-AT said it was Lucas.

EDIT:

This obviously means (character), assuming you ignore everything that doesn't fit.
Stuff like this has been said many times before...its clear at this point he is either tricking us from it obviously being Lucas/Ness or is trying to get us to think deeper.
I'm bringing this back up to the front because I thought it was rather clever of me.

please chill out and stop +1ing your post counts for no reason.

I see two untouched choices for figuring out this hint. One is to combine words, for example "lost all" into "stall." Option two is to try to figure out who is the talker in the poem - is it really the character or is it Samurai talking, or the Back room as a whole that is "I"? We should do the same with "we" - does it refer to the character of the week, the "we," is it directed towards the guessers, who is "we"?

Neither have been attempted in earnest, and would be a lot for fun than using the same type of guessing we did for the entirety of last week.

The "I" is Ness and the "we" is him and his party.

I posted the "why" a few posts down on this page:

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=162420&page=588
I cannot respect you system of not thinking outside your system. Poetry is not limitted to that realm of understanding, nor should you think within those narrow bounds of assuming you first assumption of what "I" and "we" is is correct. The riddle this week may very well be in figuring out who "I" is and who "we" is rather than just assuming "I" is the character and "we" refers to the people guessing/playing the character.

Although that isn't a bad defence of Ness.

EDIT: whoops, double post. Sorry.

Overswarm said we need to stop guessing and figure out what the hint is about. So stuff like this is what we should do. I haven't seen anything yet, from limited looking. I'll try reading "I" and "we" from different perspectives.

First things first--is this a real poem?

If it is, than chances are the pronouns aren't terribly important.

If it isn't, than the BRoomers probably wrote it, so the pronouns will tell us alot.

Olimar?

He never does any fighting himself, and "we", he and the Pikmin, try very hard.

Other than this, I'm at a loss. If it's not Olimar, than it has to be Roy!

It's 6 lines from 6 different songs. Check back a few pages - we already have what songs they are and who they are by (and what lines correspond to the ...'s that Panda put in).

I don't think pronouns matter; it's quite likely there is a puzzle here involving relating something about the band or song names - the lyrics might be misinformation. But then again, the last hint was over analyzed...

Thinking outside the box here would be more like figuring out why Panda chose each of these lyrics and what he was searching for when he went looking for them.

ty for the info, and I'm thinking you're right that we should think outside the box. Try doing stuff like mixing words together, putting the first/last letters from each word together, and other things like that.

Thinking outside the box would be if each of us approached the poem in a totally unique way/perspective, and each came back with answers supported by radically different systems of reasoning. Although if this hint is like the first part of last week's hint, I think I'm going to skip next week's hint altogether. Although you bring up a good point about Samurai's reasoning.

If it's supposed to be obvious, then the only choice is lucas.

Keep that in mind. (because it's way too obviously lucas)

I think it's Olimar. When I read the poem, I imagine a moment where an Olimar player gets edge-hogged, uses his Up+B pikmin chain, fails, and falls to his doom.

This was a therapeutic chain of events... (Referring to getting launched off of a stage and edge-hogged. It may also refer to Olimar's pikmin chain)

Guess I’m not the fighting kind... (Olimar mainly uses Pikmin for fighting)

...Will we always say we tried? (Referring to Olimar's attempt to tether the edge, but failed)

And I’ve lost all doubt in a chemical romance... (Referring to white Pikmin - poison type. Perhaps there was a white Pikmin at the end of the chain. All Olimar players know that a well-placed pikmin chain can spike edge-hoggers off and kill them. However, a white Pikmin on the front of the chain cannot spike opponents)

We tried to wash our hands of all of this... (Referring to Olimar's failure in using the Pikmin chain again)

Doors inside my head, bolted from within... (Referring to Olimar's helmet)

Great ideas all around. The only problems I have with it are "And I've lost all doubt in a chemical romance..." and "Doors inside my head, bolted from within..."

"I've lost all doubt in a chemical romance" would mean that, using your white pikmin idea, Olimar doesn't doubt the fact that white pikmin can do the job right; you said the opposite. As for the "Doors inside my head, bolted from within", that doesn't relate much to his helmet, so this is a pretty big stretch IMO. If we can find a better link to these two verses, than I'll agree with yout completely. Something to look into would be the lyrics of Ai No Uta.

Bread Crumbs... It's Falco!

Lol no, I think it is sonic, but i don't know... Wario's fat... Breadcrumbs could reference him and the hint in the OP could be a reference to his rivalry with Mario.

I don't think the 'bread crumbs' comment had anything to do with breadcrumbs.

What I think OS was saying (don't quote me on this): The answer is less complicated than we're making it...

He's saying there is a logical path to the answer. It may not be obvious, it's there.

Well, you know, we are the kind of people to say 1 + 1 = Yoshi.

Has anyone compared the hint to Ai no Uta or Namida Ga Afureta?

Those seem somewhat similar to the tones of the hint.

Of course, we all know this won't really lead us anywhere, lets head somewhere more general and less Olimar point of view. Which points at Ness.

?????

Either the hint has to do with Falco's bread, the specific line number for verses of the song, or simple addition

1+1=2

And while I don't personally try to guess random numbers, I have trouble avoiding it. What you said, Overswarm, sounds EXACTLY like an Olimar hint, well except for bread crumbs. But I do know enough to know that your hints are a correllary to Samurai's and when you give a hint, it is supplemental to the Samurai hint; if the character doesn't make sence in the context of the original, it's not the one you're hinting at (unless your talking about pre-barrel roll guesses ).

1+1=2

So once we know the two 1's we know the character.

EDIT: "I" + "we" = "Pikmin Trainer"

I'm pretty sure it was an insult, not a hint. Don't get caught up on what he just said, stay focused on the hint.

The 1+1 means that this hint is actually easy. Throwing out random answers is what we're doing with this hint. Follow the bread crumbs means that the SBR has created a path for us which we should follow to get the answer.

Basically, OS told us that the path to the answer is easy but our random guess are messing the path up.

Or I really screwed up in trying to understand what he said.

It's either Ness or Lucas. The lyrics just seem to fit those two.

And the fact Ness actually travels into his own mind helps.

Someone who was thought to be high tier at first, but proven to be not, no matter how much the fanboys persisted? Though, "Not the fighting type" reminds me of Ike's, "I fight for my friends" for some reason. XD
